I love how Hanratty's partners get up and start to approach Frank. Like he's still on the loose. They're so used to going after him for years on end that they can't ever look at him the same again.
only watched the first 60 seconds and it's already missing the central motivation of the main character: Frank's parents got separated because his father became overly in debt to the IRS. his entire decision to become a criminal and cheat the system was all based around revenge against the government and one day getting his parents back together. you can't leave out the most important detail of the entire movie and call this a summary.
In a sense society failed this individual. Often times children with extremely high IQ's become bored and, as a result, get into mischief just for entertainment. There is a distinct difference in those types of "criminals" and others. Imagine what his life would have been like if someone in the right position had only found him sooner. Actually, his personality is a bit like my big brother's. It takes a special mentality to understand what makes these men tick, truly tick.
As I see this, this is very similar to a "black hat hacker" ('a computer criminal') getting caught and becoming a "white hat hacker" ('a security specialist').

When Frank was interviewed by KDKA-AM 1020 in Pittsburgh... The talk show host suggested that it would be near impossible to be a "fake aircrew member" today given all of the increases in security at airports (in general) since 9/11. To paraphrase Franks answer in general... Frank clearly stated that there would not be much of a problem in doing so. It would still be quite easy to forge most any airline credential and to still get onto the aircrew of most any airline.
One of my favorite movies. I love how all he basically did was have charm.. confidence, know the right things to say… they to,d him exactly what he needed to do.
One of my favorite films, it's just one of those movies that when it's on, it's so damn easy to find yourself deep in it. Something that I still wonder, whenever watching it, or clips from it is why Carl seemed to have a lot of love for Frank. Sure I understand that Carl recognized that Frank could be a big help with catching criminals, but if their relationship was anything like it was told and displayed in the film, just sorta curious as to why Carl seemed to have a love for Frank even though Frank put him through the ringer
