I’m a painter in Chicago and I’m going to order the clear setup and the Segola gun from PMP Supplies. I’ve been hearing a lot of positive stuff about this spray gun, and your videos made the decision to do it. Thank you very much, and keep up all your hard work. You’re doing a great job!!!
same here ive also seen alot in the groups on facebook recently about this gun others who have had one and love it , and thanks for the kind words to dean nice to see we have viewers so far afield
Tony, great effort, as always looks fantastic. I didn't have great luck with Roberlo Kronox 610, it would have a really bad dieback, loose its gloss & shrink. The rep gave me a sample, sprayed two separate jobs, plenty of flash time in between, same result - not good. Both times used 10% reducer, Activator was (fast). Maybe with slow activator it doesn't have such a problem. Otherwise the clear lays down nice, no tendency to run, looks great immediately out of spray gun. Let me know if you might have a suggestion. Thanks
HI Tony, what brand of the base coat do you use normally ? can you please advise where I can buy (online?) some good base coat ,water and solvent(cromax, glasurit, debear,RM and so) I mean good brands mixed to code or match the colour if I send them original part? have anyone tried KAPCI basecoat? If anyone else can help please do so.
Awesome job Tony...car looks AMAZING. How did the customer like it? One question though...you said you cut the clear coat with a DA dry? What makes you decide when to cut a finish dry vs. wet, and for that matter, by hand vs. DA?
yeah they loved it mate restored it back to its former glory again , so dry vs we usually a standard finish ie we want peel il do it by hand wet with no block this helps to not remove the peel but flatten it slightly or remove imperfections , dry with say a p1200 like we did here on a da with an interface pad will cut and block the peel right out quickly leaving that show car mirror finish but thats the only time really i do that on show type cars ect
@@TonysRefinishingTV Thx for the reply Tony. Painted my Beetle over the weekend with 2K direct gloss but have orange peel. Wet sanded a test panel last night with a block and 1000/1200/2000/3000 and it took forever to get a small area flat. Would using something like P1200 on a DA dry to knock down most of it, then wet sanding by hand with 1500/2000/3000 to get it smooth be the most efficient way to deal with it?
I have 2 sagolas 4600, from 1.2 ,1.2xl, 1.3 and 1.3xl fluid tips...with dvr clear, aqua and hvlp air caps....and Yes, there is a noticeable difference in all these sizes, incremental difference, precise....the best machines spray gun in its class...so 1.3 vs 1.3xl is not only noticable, but one has to move fastttttt with 1.3xl, it leaves very wet, even, and easy glassy finish even on 1st coat.....2 turns out on the fluid is plenty, anymore or if you slow down, it will run and wave.....better than Sata 1.3 and faster but with more control...
Well I’m convinced I think this will be the clear coat gun I’ll be aiming for and at a later stage probably get the Iwata LS400 as a base coat gun but that might change because it will take a long time to get to that. With that being said , that finish did look amazing
Tonys_Refinishing yeah I can really see that in the videos you posted this one and the review demo , I’m making every effort to get one and have made an account at PMP supplies
Fantastic the finish off the gun looked perfect, must have been hearatbreaking to have to sand that with 1200

Hi mate I hope you are well. My question is what is the base coat using in your body shop and could we use cronox 610 over solvent basecoats. Tx ;)
Yes you can!
Amazing job Tony! Cheers from Guatemala!
Hi rod glad you enjoyed it mate and thanks for watching

Top glass! What kind of clear coat?
Thanks man roberlo 610 uhs clear mate links in the description I think
😱🙄😏😤😂
What were your gun settings at without using any reducer in the clear?
id be 2.0 bar air pressure full fan and around 2-3 turns on the fluid
What’s the transfer efficiency like with this setup?
personally i find it good mate its no worse than say my ws400 or sata 5000
How much of a difference is there between the 1.3 and the 1.3XL tips? Is it significant or not?
i cant say as i dont have the 1.3 mate i only have the xl

baumau Does the 1.2xl tip flow enough material to leave a nice finish at low pressures ?
@@baumau How does the 1.3 clearcap 4600 perform with hs clear?
love this video..very nice paint job
How does the sagola compare to the sata 5500
Honestly I prefer the sagola as I find it so easy to paint with and get a finish like this
Do you have the gun in 1,3Xl version or just 1,3 no XL ???
1.3xl mate
Great work mate on a beautiful piece of machinery 👍🏻
