You do know that a lot of the zoos throw food to primates, right? Who are we mere viewers to tell professional zookeepers/caretakers how to do their job? I am pretty sure they know what they are doing or are in consultation with other more experienced zoos with primates.

I agree they should not throw the food and instead place it in certain spots so that they can eat in their own area like wild gorillas do in the wild. Throwing it just makes it closer and not spread out so it is guaranteed a fight to happen over food. Like I said in the wild gorillas will find a their own little area to eat amd it is disrespectful to them if others come near them while they are eating. Genki demonstrates this very well with Kintaro, What happens is Genki will give Kintaro a small gesture with her hand letting him know she is done eating and he can now get his milk from her.

The sound of Female Gorillas screaming while fighting makes my blood run cold. Worse sound! I guess Tayari giving Iriki a poke/slap to her face set Iriki off. Iriki is much bigger then Tayari and I guess Iriki was not in the mood and decided it was time to show who the boss is. Tayari seemed a bit humbled after that brawl. Its sad to see Baby J so scared and that brave little guy ran to try and protect his Mommy. Thank God the Silverbacks are there to keep the peace because Iriki was beyond calming down and D'J had to separate them before it got even worse. We all have our limits. Maybe the two sister are trying to push each others buttons lately to establish who is the Top Female, "hierarchy". I wish the staff would give us some additional information about all the interactions we never see so we know more about the updated dynamic and things going on behind the scenes so we understand more about what the family is going through. Maybe the two sisters having babies is the time when they need to establish who is Queen of the Troop. (? ) Would be great to know more about what the staff see's and knows. Thanks for sharing. Can’t agree with you more, I thought the same thing that the keepers could try to separate them and see if that would ease the conflicts between the two sisters. I personally think the two mothers both are depressed for different reasons. The Zoo spokesman said they had discussed with previous keepers in Netherlands and are trying all sorts of things to help Iriki’s situation (they think she is suffering from postnatal depression). Not easy,especially with two extremely opposite characters female gorillas from same dad and now same husband ! Tayari’s mum is more like the boss among the female group and she definitely has got that personality and character from her mum. It’s just a vicious cycle, if Tayari stopped her provocative behaviours towards to Iriki ,then her might not be suffering from the postnatal depression. The staffs are trying very hard to,just keep fingers crossed they all settle down peacefully.

Finally someone who gets it. Animals are territorial over food, some more than others even in the same troop. These lovely sisters are going to fight from time to time. It’s a small enclosure compared to Apenheul. I am sure they get bored.
Tayari brings these things on because she's so emotional and she gets food aggressive and partner aggressive, oh and child aggressive if she imagines that Iriki is going to hurt Jabali (the kid she dragged along the ground all those months before he could walk.😳) In the end they all suffer the consequences and the zoos need to address these issues that result in so many harmful medical conditions.
I so agree with you. Honestly, only the zookeepers/caretakers truly know these animals and are probably in consultation with other zoos/ vets/ primatologists. We attribute human behaviors on these animals, most of the time unfairly. There has been a lot comments base upon person opinions rather than actual facts or firsthand knowledge.
Excellent point. And that goes for psychological issues as well, because all the hair plucking, self harm, copophagy, etc. should be addressed and zoos need to start figuring these things out, because they are symptoms of animals in captivity. It would make for much healthier and happier animals, and we owe that to them.
So many people in the comments say that Tayari started this fight. If you slow the video down you will see food dropping in front of Tayari and Iriki making a beeline for it. All Tayari did was block her and Iriki got so angry and chased after Tayari 😞 When you see Tayari so gingerly walking after this fight, you can see how shocked she was by the situation 😢 We all know that Tayari is not the malicious type and Iriki was such a playful yet loving mother/sister. Ugh, no matter who is right or wrong I just hope these sisters can resolve their issues. They really were the happiest when humans were in lockdown 😔
@@shabtistore no she did not. Tayari reached out at Iriki when Iriki attempted to pass her. Animals, including gorillas, are territorial over food even when they are not eating it for themselves. All of this behavior was normal animal behavior. Animals will fight over food and other perceived slights. Gorillas are animals, not humans, even if they share DNA with us.
@@shabtistore I didn’t see Tayari bite Iriki in this video, except in the actual fight. But that is just part of how they fight in all gorilla troops. Neither were savage towards each other. Gorillas fight like this.

Basically is from the two sisters both were having their first baby with no experience , Tayari had Jabali before Iriki had Ringo.Taya didn’t know how to nurse her baby until few months later she sees how Iriki nurse Ringo differently from her, especially when all the attention is on the new born baby-Ringo,Taya started to scene the anxiety of being left out in the group and worrying Iriki would take her place to be the “ Queen “,the war began (I think it’s also involved with how Tayari been brought up by her mum too and how close they were), I do hope the caretakers can go back and double check Tayari’s behaviours and activities up to now,as slowly you can see little Jabali would be effected by the adults gorillas. I do believe and have the faith that the Zoo would try every thing to help them. All the animals are part of the creation and they should be protected and look after with care（I think you didn’t get the funny side of sense of humour from what I put) Peace ✌🏼
I notice this too, they are very skinny for mothers who just gave birth. They need to be fed the same way Genki is fed and when you fo see them eating in a video its like a couple leaves on a branch. Get these mothers some good food and if.you ate afraid Djeeco will take, split up there eating area so they eat in peace. These mothers need to eat more after having babies it helps relieve stress. If Genki was in this situation she would without a doubt be bald from ripping her hair out and lose more fingers from biting them off.
Wow, that was intense and scary! I have never seen a full-out fight among gorillas before. I think it is the stress of being a mother of an infant that had set off Iriki. Poor Tayari just picked the wrong time to irritate Iriki!

But in reality, neither of them are behaving aberrantly. Gorillas aren't monolithic, and being the fairly unintelligent animals they are, they sometimes get into fights. It resolved itself in seconds with D'jeeco's firm reprimand, giving Iriki a little reminder to watch her own temper. Frankly, I blame the enclosure's openness. It's well known that gorillas require seclusion and obfuscation to maintain their emotional comfort, and Tayari and Iriki have been agitated ever since visitors started pouring back in after the lockdown. They've been acting funny ever since. Even at the start of this video, you can see Tayari was frustrated by something/someone above the perimeter already. This agitation was like a catalyst that set them both off as soon as they crossed paths. It's a bad mix.

This is area B. They have a access door to this side that usually home a species of monkeys I believe and The ladies were afraid of them so the zoo closed the door. But because of Iriki plucking her and D`jeeco fur they are temporarily moved here while a new structure/enrichment Is being built in area A where the cave is located.

Irkki is boring and all she has is Ringo to make her interesting. Big J loves the attention and this is what gorillas males love.

She allows D’Jeeco to see Ringo on her terms as Ringo’s mother. D’Jeeco has shown interest in Ringo in the cave. Also, as Ringo gets older, Iriki will allow him more interaction. Ringo is still a small young gorilla…months younger than Jabali.
Tayari is a nuisance and I think Iriki is fed up with her. Sometimes even humans behave like that when we are tired of being beat upon. Jabali can also be quite in your face. He does not try some of his antics with mom becuase he is likely to be kicked or pushed. Also some jealousy could be going on. Sometimes, I wonder what's going on in each ones head. They seem so human like. Tayari is a thug.

Animals (primates) often fight over food or other perceived slights. It’s bound to happen in a small enclosure. Sometimes Iriki instigates and other times it’s Tayari. Happens in all gorilla troops with more than one female.
Who told you that Iriki had obsessive-compulsive disorder at Apenheul? Did a zookeeper or caretaker tell you that firsthand? If not, it’s just your own biased opinion not based upon facts. Both Tayari and Iriki, along with their other sister Chama had happy normal lives at Apenheul. These three sisters were really close at Apenheul. Tayari’s mom and Iriki’s mom are also close at Apenheul.

Having favoritism with animals only shows how selfish and bad feelings people have. They are both gorillas and they are both mothers and they deserve respect and equality. Tayari always starts everything.

lriki這叫聲對比她的文靜性格，顯示她的情緒壓抑的有多深多沉🥲D’jeeco處理完後，一直看向上面的保育員，一定聽到在叫他的名字，動物都好有靈性
其實我覺得是園方一直使用投擲方式給予食物真的很有意見，因為沒有人能夠控制投擲的距離及墜落點是否完全正確，以前也見到過差一點將食物擲到小朋友的，現在食物剛好在她倆近距離有所觸發事件，其實Tayari 行為也不是挑釁是基於她的性格做了一點一向也會這樣對姐姐的小動作而已，只是碰上Iriki 一向對食物比較緊張並懷裏有阿仔等原因才會打起上來。希望園方真的想想是否要取消投擲方式餵食，因為世界各地的動物園都是會在戶外或室內不同地點擺放好食物再由大猩猩們自己去尋找。
我覺得是Iriki的精神疾病，要接受治療。不能找理由替暴力行為合理化，如果不治療Iriki的精神疾病，以後隨著兩個孩子長大，現在罵塔瑞的就知道，後果很可怕！

在我看來，前面真的都好好的，我是第一次看到Iriki這麼生氣。也希望不要因為這樣，就有網友導向什麼Iriki“精神疾病”什麼的，真的有點扯太遠了～😅 牠的個性就是人（猩）不犯我，我不犯人（猩）～ 偏偏Tayari是喜歡時不時的弄牠一下，覺得很好玩～ 殊不知Iriki已經想“反擊”牠了～ 所以牠們只是姐妹鬩牆，不用想成什麼“病”吧～ 這都是無稽之談，根本無須帶這種風向，對金剛家族都不好吧～ 還是希望我們人類不要介入太多，牠們自然會和好，會好好相處的～
Iriki牠沒有精神疾病是憂鬱症，不過我對台灣對動物的照顧是很有信心的！保母她/他們可能工作量繁重但有許多熊粉猩迷們都很用心幫忙留意，那些鹹眼癇愚的就跳過，來角落看動物分享創作者作品無需搞砸分享的樂趣👌🏻👍🏻

我也覺得iriki精神狀態不是很穩定，應該讓醫生評估一下她的狀況，在之前影片就看到她故意踩過小J了，怕她哪天又爆發傷害到小J。

Tayari brings these things on because she's so emotional and she gets food aggressive and partner aggressive, oh and child aggressive if she imagines that Iriki is going to hurt Jabali (the kid she dragged along the ground all those months before he could walk.😳) In the end they all suffer the consequences and the zoos need to address these issues that result in so many harmful medical conditions.

動物行為自有它們的因果，人類真的無需猜測與多言。比較實際的是，請園方基於動物福祉進行檢傷，該治療就治療，若該隔離就隔離。
I so agree with you. Honestly, only the zookeepers/caretakers truly know these animals and are probably in consultation with other zoos/ vets/ primatologists. We attribute human behaviors on these animals, most of the time unfairly. There has been a lot comments base upon person opinions rather than actual facts or firsthand knowledge.

And that goes for psychological issues as well, because all the hair plucking, self harm, copophagy, etc. should be addressed and zoos need to start figuring these things out, because they are symptoms of animals in captivity. It would make for much healthier and happier animals, and we owe that to them.

So many people in the comments say that Tayari started this fight. If you slow the video down you will see food dropping in front of Tayari and Iriki making a beeline for it. All Tayari did was block her and Iriki got so angry and chased after Tayari 😞 When you see Tayari so gingerly walking after this fight, you can see how shocked she was by the situation 😢 We all know that Tayari is not the malicious type and Iriki was such a playful yet loving mother/sister.
Ugh, no matter who is right or wrong I just hope these sisters can resolve their issues. They really were the happiest when humans were in lockdown 😔

@@shabtistore no she did not. Tayari reached out at Iriki when Iriki attempted to pass her. Animals, including gorillas, are territorial over food even when they are not eating it for themselves. All of this behavior was normal animal behavior. Animals will fight over food and other perceived slights. Gorillas are animals, not humans, even if they share DNA with us.

那時Tayari前面剛好有食物掉落，Iriki要過去撿時被擋了一下，應該是為了食物。Tayari一向對食物沒那麼急著去拿，但Iriki對於食物一向很急著去拿。
6：07～6：11 掉了2～3菜在T媽面前牠完全沒有動靜看不出任何搶食動作，應該是看到老公起身同時Iriki 又要走過去，倆個老婆都有產後憂鬱症只是發洩表現不同模式罷了，迷你家庭吵翻天總是會驚動整個園子
我看到也是這樣，有些人真的很愛看圖編故事耶，Iriki每次看到吃的都衝超快也拿很好，猩猩應該不用擔心三高問題🤣

Do you know this firsthand, have you spoken to their caretakers/vet or are you merely speculating based upon your own opinion? Basically is from the two sisters both were having their first baby with no experience , Tayari had Jabali before Iriki had Ringo.Taya didn’t know how to nurse her baby until few months later she sees how Iriki nurse Ringo differently from her, especially when all the attention is on the new born baby-Ringo,Taya started to scene the anxiety of being left out in the group and worrying Iriki would take her place to be the “ Queen “,the war began (I think it’s also involved with how Tayari been brought up by her mum too and how close they were), I do hope the caretakers can go back and double check Tayari’s behaviours and activities up to now,as slowly you can see little Jabali would be effected by the adults gorillas. I do believe and have the faith that the Zoo would try every thing to help them. All the animals are part of the creation and they should be protected and look after with care（I think you didn’t get the funny side of sense of humour from what I put) Peace ✌🏼
其實前陣子為了舒緩Iriki病情，採用方法之一是改變餵食習慣，但常常看到他們為了覓食，表情焦躁且常吃自己的屎，或許該調整一下，吃飽還是很重要的。
I notice this too, they are very skinny for mothers who just gave birth. They need to be fed the same way Genki is fed and when you fo see them eating in a video its like a couple leaves on a branch. Get these mothers some good food and if.you ate afraid Djeeco will take, split up there eating area so they eat in peace. These mothers need to eat more after having babies it helps relieve stress. If Genki was in this situation she would without a doubt be bald from ripping her hair out and lose more fingers from biting them off.
Wow, that was intense and scary! I have never seen a full-out fight among gorillas before. I think it is the stress of being a mother of an infant that had set off Iriki. Poor Tayari just picked the wrong time to irritate Iriki!
Poor Tayari? She brought that on herself. She needs an animal psychiatrtist thr way she is always picking on Iriki and treating Jabali.
@@ms.p.2357 If any of them need "psychiatry," I'd say it's the one that keeps plucking her own fur and her mate's, and who has periodically attacked her nephew. But in reality, neither of them are behaving aberrantly. Gorillas aren't monolithic, and being the fairly unintelligent animals they are, they sometimes get into fights. It resolved itself in seconds with D'jeeco's firm reprimand, giving Iriki a little reminder to watch her own temper.
Frankly, I blame the enclosure's openness. It's well known that gorillas require seclusion and obfuscation to maintain their emotional comfort, and Tayari and Iriki have been agitated ever since visitors started pouring back in after the lockdown. They've been acting funny ever since. Even at the start of this video, you can see Tayari was frustrated by something/someone above the perimeter already. This agitation was like a catalyst that set them both off as soon as they crossed paths. It's a bad mix.

This is area B. They have a access door to this side that usually home a species of monkeys I believe and The ladies were afraid of them so the zoo closed the door. But because of Iriki plucking her and D`jeeco fur they are temporarily moved here while a new structure/enrichment Is being built in area A where the cave is located.

我放超慢速看影片是有菜丟下來到Tayari前面、然候I走過去可能想拿（不確定畢竟我們不是她）、Tayari有小小的用手撥了一下（影片看起來是這樣、但我以前的影片得知、金剛猩猩本來就沒在分享食物的，所以我相信不管今天是誰拿誰的食物也都會動手護ㄧ下自己的食物）⋯可是I之後就忽然抓狂了⋯⋯反正感覺千錯萬錯都是Tayari的錯！！

@@annbynum9689 all I saw was two sisters who always play but irrki took it too far. She has no personality and neither does her cub. Taytay has more personality in her left paw. Irkki is boring and all she has is Ringo to make her interesting. Big J loves the attention and this is what gorillas males love.
@@annbynum9689 If you watch the videos closely and unbiased you will see that Iriki decides how much interaction she lows the rest of the troop with Ringo. She allows D’Jeeco to see Ringo on her terms as Ringo’s mother. D’Jeeco has shown interest in Ringo in the cave. Also, as Ringo gets older, Iriki will allow him more interaction. Ringo is still a small young gorilla…months younger than Jabali.

Tayari is a nuisance and I think Iriki is fed up with her. Sometimes even humans behave like that when we are tired of being beat upon. Jabali can also be quite in your face. He does not try some of his antics with mom becuase he is likely to be kicked or pushed. Also some jealousy could be going on. Sometimes, I wonder what's going on in each ones head. They seem so human like. Tayari is a thug.

VNC I'm totally agree with you., but for people that don't think animals have similarities to human, studies have been determinate they have feelings and memories as we do. Specially big apes.. But many people see Tayari as a clown and funny Girl, like many people like to call her, but if Iriki act mad she is just a beast. Come people be real. Eventfully this can finish in a big tragedy.

看清楚是Iriki很凶暴，一直追打塔瑞，從來沒有看過塔瑞攻擊過小R，但是Iriki會攻擊傷害小J。一隻精神有問題的母金剛，常常因為一點小事情緒大爆發，才是應該要隔離接受治療，不要用歪理把暴力合理化。在這個視頻留言區，感受到濃濃的排擠霸凌味道。會持續看這個視頻是完全為小J，但是這個視頻，最近似乎已把重心轉移到小R身上；很擔心過了一年半載 ，會不會連小J都被霸凌！

Who told you that Iriki had obsessive-compulsive disorder at Apenheul? Did a zookeeper or caretaker tell you that firsthand? If not, it’s just your own biased opinion not based upon facts. Both Tayari and Iriki, along with their other sister Chama had happy normal lives at Apenheul. These three sisters were really close at Apenheul. Tayari’s mom and Iriki’s mom are also close at Apenheul.

Having favoritism with animals only shows how selfish and bad feelings people have. They are both gorillas and they are both mothers and they deserve respect and equality. Tayari always starts everything.
