Don’t worry about outfits. You don’t unlock them until postgame. “Just leave ‘em alone!! IAN, STOP!!!” Holy cow, I don’t think I’ve laughed as hard at genuine concern like I did right there.
It's probably too late, I don't know how much bulk recording is done, but if you do a light attack after the third dash, you can then start the dashes again for the fastest movement.
For the version that most people talk about, it's actually the exact same timing. You just get a bit more distance. There is a version where it's a beat faster, though, but in my experience it can be a bit inconsistent at times for no obvious reason.
For Ian frustrated on not getting good scores. As someone who got the golden guitar, don't sleep on Jam combos! Buy them for partners. Press the partner button on the beat hit and have one bar of meter to activate. The timer score is very generous and The best way to rack it up is to have Mac ground jam Cambo bringing an enemy in the air then peppermint air jam combo to overkill. Keep doing that as much as you can in a battle and you'll be getting score S ranks and overall S's in no time!
The between-mission room being so off here is a nice touch. Samurai-bot was cool! I definitely prefer macarons to macaroons. Why am I laughing this much at the way the part ended?
Having the return to base sections between levels as delusions or dreams with an appropriately "off" script when Chai isn't able to actually return to the hub is an excellent way to give the player access to the facilities that fits in with the story.
TW: illness, anxiety I get the medical anxiety for a loved one, I had sinusitis for the first time, not life threatening just incredibly painful and the doctor gave me medicine with a warning if the headache felt like a thunder clap to go to hospital and I went home to bed. My husband proceeded to google it and read that these thunder clap headaches are a sign of a brain aneurysm and then couldn't get hold of me for 5 hours (you know sleeping). Nearly broke the hinges off our doors and shook me so hard I puked in his effort to make sure I was alive... ps don't shake someone with sinusitis
Another big answer for why you get lower scores: a lot of different actions have their own multiplier, all of which will stack. Air combos, magnets to enemies you just launched in the air, attacking while partners are juggling enemies, and a buncha other things I don't remember. You can see all this in the U.I. You won't raise your style rank to S very quickly if you're mostly doing 2-3 different things every fight. In other words, you want every excuse to perform many different actions at least once while styling on your enemies. You can start by launching enemies to do air combos (plus it keeps you safe from grounded attacks).
Regarding the Parry sequences, the first hit wil ALWAYS land when the quicktime event circles overlap with one another at the start of the parry sequence. If you need a refference to know how combo's look like/are being performed in this game, there is a non-spoiler video called "Hi-Fi Rush Early Game Combo" on youtube. it really helps to see what the game expects from you to get an S rank score. A big tip: summons and air moves give some good score multipliers, meaning they are everything for combos, so upgrade them ASAP. Other than that, REALLY COOL VID guys. Keep it up. Can't wait for the next one.
The macaroons I get locally are more of a tart than a cookie, a pastry shell with jam at the bottom and a coconut filling with some extra jam on the top they tend to disappear quite quickly in our house.
You know, coming off of watching Ori and the Will of the Wisps into this series, it's very funny to see Ian happily smashing innocent little robots after so much worrying over whether or not he should kill enemies that were very much actively trying to kill him :D
so, the voice actor for Chai did the voice for Goro Akechi form Persona 5, and Peppermint's VA is Barbie, Starlight Glimmer and Futaba Sakura from Persona 5. Oh yeah, Kale's is basically Sonic the Hedgehog. Chai's VA is also Spiderman
Macarons are pretty nice, but I’ve only had one in my life so I have no idea if it was a good one or not. I don’t think I’ve ever had a Macaroon though. I enjoy coconut, but I just don’t think I’ve ever encountered a chance to try one. Maybe the moral of the story is that I should have more sweets
BLG: go check out the Metroid Prime Remastered series! The Metroid Prime Remastered series in question: ( it never got more than 14 parts I think and I’m sad about it)
It ain't just you, Ian, the samurais in this game are VERY bullshit. Their rhythm doesnt match with the games ost like the other enemies for some reason.

That Twins Peak reference with the snapping had me laughing! This game is so good!🤣
That’s what that was?
Oh man, now that’s even funnier!
This game truly is a spiritual successor to Sunset Overdrive!
@@Otisboy121Yeah, 808 even did the weird walk in the show. th-cam.com/video/h0YI_eHg3Aw/w-d-xo.html
How to get high score tips:
Spam the teammate buttons. Literally no downside at all. The cooldown is pretty damn short
Fun fact: Kale's Japanese VA is literally the guy who voiced Dio (forgot his name)
And Zanzo was a walking JoJo's reference. Him being a VA in this game is perfect.
The between-mission room being so off here is a nice touch.
Samurai-bot was cool!
I definitely prefer macarons to macaroons.
Why am I laughing this much at the way the part ended?
Why are *WE*
Congrats on being the only let's players I've ever seen to NOT struggle with the Samurai on the first encounter.

19:29 "What's up? Anyone else? Anyone else?"
*10 tall robot samurai enters the fight*
"... Anyone but that guy?"
Kale is voiced by Roger Craig Smith, the current voice actor for Sonic.
Also Mirage from Apex legends. Best personality in that game.
It's sad he hadn't done anything for Jojo yet, or Robbie Raymond hasn't done Sonic
For infinite dash, 3 dash, then light attack immediately after dash, repeat.

I love how every guitar has both a Zone and Junk mode. But nice touch that the 808 guitar has color accents to match whomst is logged on 808 proper.
I love the ever-present question of this LP; is Ian going to destroy this random bot?
i can't wait to see speedruns of this game.
I might just have binged the 10 episodes today, great series you got there !

after you dash 3 times, try a light attack. It doesn't do much but it feels awesome
Ian is a Roomba killer. 😭
Dammit, now I'm jealous of a robot's denim chaps. And I must commend you on finding the well hidden secrets.

You are the only person ive seen not die to thier first samurai
yes, roger creig Smith is the current sonic and Chris Redfield
I stuck on this level exactly at 22:50 . What exactly combination should i press ? I try to pass it 100 times .
YOO, The bugs bunny communism meme!
Oh fuck that takes me back.
Is it me, or is Korsicka really similar to red action from okko?
Wait...macaroons are REAL?!
I thought they were just macarons but spelled wrong!
Nope, they're very real! People often call macarons macaroons because they don't know they're two separate things, haha
Macaroons by far, the texture of macarons puts me off, haven't had them enough to get used to it
BLG: go check out the Metroid Prime Remastered series!

I have never eaten a macaron or a macaroon
Algor-rythm comment amrite?
Is Korsica meant to be Irish. She sounds Irish.
I think she's supposed to be Scottish.
macaroons are my arch rival; one day ill exterminate them from the world and then my goal in life will be complete. i hate coconut so much
Macaron are overhyped and overpriced.

They do, they just utilise the power of the semiquaver.
I can't decide which is worse, samurai or birds.
You are correct kales voice actor is sonic! Many of the sonics actually!
