I have a mix of both for my collection. I plan on getting all the singles eventually, but the 3 in 1s are just so much more bang for your buck and take up less space on the shelf than 3 singles
I'll save y'all some time get the singles, they look way better and are easier to read since they're less bulky, and to save money get the box sets (plus the boxsets come with some cool extra stuff)
Forgot the biggest advantage of the 3 in 1, they take less space. The 3 in 1 is about the width of 2 single volumes, compound that over 30 3in1 volumes and that's a massive difference in shelf space (I don't know about others, but I've gone digital on some series for shelf space considerations)
I live by the box set route. You get all the single volumes, a poster, and a little booklet, which will include a crossover, a collection of cover stories, or the prologue to One Piece depending on which box set you buy. Definitely get them on sale though, because they’re a little pricey if you don’t.
I think I only get 3 in 1s if the series I'm gonna get into has 50+ volumes, (Like One Piece, Naruto and Bleach) Not to mention that 3in1s do take up less shelf space.
@@ShrugPodClassic the Zolo thing is really bad for example. And the Americanization of the language compared to the original is really bothersome for me as well. And aren’t the sound effects changed into English? It takes away the clean look of the action panels

3-1 to read singles for collection

In my opinion, singles are the best for the obvious perks they have.
I love the 3 in 1 because I’m not even a collector. I just read them at school to make time go by lol
I’ll probably eventually try to start collecting the singles but right now the 3 in 1s are cheaper so easier for me to collect them
buy box sets they are cheaper
From experience, the larger volumes tend to fall apart easier, so I prefer singles.

Aint no way u guys are finding the boxsets for less than the 3 in 1s, especially not since viz upped their prices 😭
I would rather have the singles but the 3-1 are such a steal, getting 3 books for the price of 1.5 that I can’t pass it up
11 usd god dam. In Australia it’s like double that, it’s fucked
That's actually insane. I was shocked by the US price for the opposite reason. They only cost 7$ in Europe.
