- You just bought a new succulent, propagated some leaves or even took some cuttings. Where do you keep them? Should you keep them in the shade or out in the sun? Maybe undercover or exposed them to the element?

I would love a tour video, your garden is my sanctuary 🥰
Hi Liz, your channel is alluring, brilliant, informative, relaxing,
and THE BEST! MD
Thanks so much 😊MD. I'm glad you're enjoying my content. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for recommending your videos about climatizing I was already watching this one, and when I click te links you left me this show, so now im finishing watching it😁 and again thanks for having link under this videos related to the topic. Love your videos and more so your huge collection of suculents 🤤 jajaja.
Another topic I have a good friend from Phillipines and when we get together we almost always talk about food and culture since is so similar. I'm from P.R. but reside in USA. A hug for you!
thank you lizk for all these information. you really are very patient with leaf growing .. some take sooo much time. keep it up.
This is AMAZING! I had no idea you could make a plant more hardy. Thank you for sharing your immense knowledge!
You are so welcome!
Amazing video an what a great throw back from your prior years of plants. You just have the most amazing Garden. Liz you need a green house. Thank you my friend for all your hard work for us and all the lessons.
My daughter just bought a property just outside where we live. She has offered a space for my polytunnels. That would be too much "work" for me and this black duck doesn't like that word at all. Although I'm thinking of having a small one in my balcony....😉
This is an excellent update ln how to Acclimatize Succulents!
I can’t wait for all the seasons to come by and see how they change and adapt. Very inspiring. And very informative especially for us “newbie” 😬😬😬
Hi Liz! Wonderful info! I determined to trust your data and leave every succulent out for the winter, then the white tail deer, abundant here, who left them alone all spring and summer, got just hungry enough with their shrinking natural browse available to them, and decided the succulents were a nice alternative. Now readjusting. We are going into fall here. I absolutely love seeing how you culture and grow your collection. This has been my wish, to grow succulents outside here in a zone 6?....and my obsession. I might have to watch yours for another year before I brave it! Thank you so very much for translating Celsius to Fahrenheit for the rest of us! It is so fun to experience Canberra life through you. One of us is upside-down, lols probably not you 🇺🇸 ❤
We are downunder and proud of it. I'll have to arm wrestle you with that title...LOL
Braving it for me was more of a necessity than choice. We're usually away in winter and back in spring. This was more good luck than good management. ZONE 6??? I probably wouldn't be game enough to leave "ALL" (the mere thought leaves shivers down my spine...LOL) of my succulents. I'll probably just dip my toes a couple inch into the snow...
🙏 Liz, this is just what I needed!
Talk about patience! You have to be the most patient person in the world LOL another great video Liz. Keep them coming ❤️
Thank you My Janet.
The compilations of this video is so informative and useful. So clever of you! 👏👍
Glad you think so Siew Lean. Thank you "My first."😉

Succulent are interesting. It depends on where they come from. The ones that comes in arid area likes less water. I found one that are in the jade family's came from forest mountains. Those hardy one's preferred likes well drained soils but moist, they also grow much faster. Sadly my died I haven't gotten replacement. They are interesting plant's. So, much to learn. Those are some experience I have. Thanks Liz.
Thanks for sharing the info Yack. Much appreciated.
Thank you for sharing, great video =)
I have to say I have never acclimatized any of my succulents. I just put them in my small rock garden and in wood stumps are my yard. Thankfully they all survived, lol. I do cover them in Autumn with the leaves, they stay that till spring.
Did you happen to know their names?
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK I have Hens & Chicks, Turquoise Tails - Blue Sedum and Sedum Spurium
LIZ!!!! I got my decomposed granite today! I'm so happy... hehe I had so much fun making my soil mix and I got to save a few big pieces for the top of soil .. :D My pups from leaves are growing a lot quicker now that the weather is warming up.... it's so fun :D
That’s exciting.Where did you find your granite Honey Bee?
@@mimakate at a local garden centre, not Bunnings. If you are after it, look at local landscaping supply places too.
Honey Bee lucky after much searching I found it.
@@mimakate yay!!
@@mimakate where did you get it please?
Amazing Liz, so many tray of propagation. 😍🤩🥰

Wow. Acclamatize has done its job. Wow talking about patience, patience, patience. Thanks Liz❤️❤️❤️
My pleasure 😊
Wow what a collection....and love to hear an Aussie accent.! Best wishes from Central Coast N.S.W.
And to you too! Thanks for watching.
Hi Liz ... love love love your videos, your beautiful colorful succulents!! Do you spray water on your leaf propagations? Have a wonderful day! 😍
Only when they've sprouted with roots. If no roots, no spray.
This is one very helpful video thank you so much for ur information about acclamitising
You're welcome. Hope it helps.
Very inspiring. Patience Patience Patience than...

Thanks so much 😊
Very nice collections 👏👏👏
Im always drinking coffee watching your vids at 12am😂 also i Iet my succulents acclimate themselves and I never had a problem with it or seen any burns on them I might be lucky
Acclimatization is key. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Liz. You are my go to succulent expert!😉I really love all your videos. Ive learned so much from you. My favorite echeveria was labeled as a "blue reef" echeveria but im not able to find any info on it nor has anyone else that ive spoken to ever heard of it. Have u heard of blue reef or do u think it's something else? I love it so much and really want to know more about it. Could I send u pics so u can maybe identify it and tell me more about it? Im also wondering if u think my kalanchoe Humilis could be acclimatized to winter. Im in zone 7b. I left a few sedums out last winter and they all died in the cold but came back in the spring. I don't want my kalanchoe or echeveria blue reef to die bc they were tiny lil plants when I got them and they've grown so much over just one summer. So far they are fine but it hasn't gotten below 40F yet. Help!😂😘
I wouldn't call myself an expert Dani. Just someone whose not afraid to kill plants. 😉
You could send me the photo on my Instagram page. Curious to also find out.
Kalanchoe humilis so far for me has become small and nearly died twice being exposed to winter outdoors. I will feature it in one of my videos to better explain.
Your succulebts are lovely they are colorful. Tried to grow them but melted half. Whatever survived are green, only green, no reds, no purples, no yellows.
Sorry to hear that. Hope that my videos can help revive your babies and transform them into beautiful swans.
Did I hear that right? A leaf propagation, as in a leaf taken from from the pollinated seed stalk, could carry the traits from the pollinator? A cross/hybrid? Or just from the seeds?
Both. I have a couple of plants grown from a leaf stalk that grew looking completely different from the mother plant and also a seed grown one. Actually....Thank you!!! That will make a good quick video...Hahaha.
LOve them all
Hi Liz, I've been waiting to watch your video on acclimatization of succulents. Great info! So basically the only way for them to adjust to freezing/high heat temperatures is to grow them from seed or leaf propagation and see how they do? Liz
Yes and no. You can acclimatize shop bought succulents that you did not grow yourself. It just takes much longer compared to the leaf that's been out there since day dot. Stay tune for future acclimatization videos.
Hello Liz, do you know this baby's bottom succulent? Can you tell me what is the right name. Thank you!.
Are you talking about Fenestraria 'Baby Toes' or Lithops 'Stone plant' or Canophytum 'button plant'?
Do you ship to the U.S? I love your beautiful Collectuon
Australia has strict quarantine laws and can't send plants overseas.
Hey can you make a video on how to grow succulents in 40 degree weather I'm growing succulents in India and my first summer I kept my succs in shade still they dropped leaves and died. Also I can't find decomposed granite where I live so can I use perlite?
We are still in spring here at the moment and will work my way through the season for acclimatizing succulents videos in summer. If you can't get hold of granite, maybe try using pumice, scoria and basalt. I'll try and do a video on why your succulents are losing their leaves.
do you put them anywhere that is not sunny? or somewhere which shady?
A lot of the newly acquired plants I put in my 50% UV shade cloth area. But once they grow and produced babies, I put them out in the full rain and sun.
🙂
In Thailand is very hot so that why my plants all green 😅
With the right soil mix and full sun exposure, most succulents will go red or color up. Please take a look at my soil mix in the description box below this video. Good luck.
Thank you so much 😍
