Turn on his back at Jim Ross, the person who took care of Steve during his injuries. What a heel Stone cold would have become, but the crowd had no idea what to react to him because they love him so much.
You can basically say from a storyline perspective, Austin getting ranover by that car made him even more paranoid which progressed towards his match with The Rock at WrestleMania for the title

Then makes his way to the Ring. This music hits and the Crowd including a 14 Year Old me Marks The Fuck out and by God JR on commentary its Austin.....
