Since you asked, apparently, the other Aardman Project for DreamWorks that got canceled was an adaptation of The Tortoise and the Hare. And that's literally all we know about it. Still, it's crazy to think that the Croods started out as not only a stop motion Aardman film, but a farce comedy like Faulty Towers. Interesting how it became want we know now.
When you think about the complicated relationship between Eep and her Father in the first movie, The Croods is basically the original generation trauma movie before Encanto and Turning Red.
Have you heard of a cancelled movie called The Legend of Tembo? It was supposed to be produced by a studio called Digital Domains and directed by Aaron Blaine and Chuck Williams before the studio went bankrupt. It was about an African elephant called Tembo who was captured by hunters as a calf and shipped over to Asia where he would be made to fight as a war elephant in the Chinese army. A huge chunk of the storyboards for the movie can be found here on TH-cam by some of the animators, pretty much detailing the entire plot and, I’ve gotta say, it genuinely looks like it could’ve been great.
I liked the Croods a bit. Although Nicolas Cage is gold in the films the dude is a national treasure and probably the internet's probably 2nd favorite actor with Keanu Reeves being number 1 dude is basically an actor full of memes with the more memes that are made of his films the more powerful he gets
tbh, i feel like more movies should do this where multiple projects about the same story and name (like what this is talking about) and see which 1 is better, obviously not finished, but mainly just the drawing of the characters and the story written out, just a neat thought
The first one was unarguably better, but I really enjoyed the second one too. When I went into it, I first had low expectations, but seriously, it was great!
NO THIS IS SO REAL I KEEP SAYING THIS, I genuinely cannot watch the second movie without critiquing EVERYTHING about it, new age was awful and a big mistake
The Croods starts like our popular (outdated) view of the Stone Age, where life is just brutish survival and an endless struggle for existence, and throughout the film and in the end scene, they show us (using a fantastical scenery) that even if their world was still difficult and hostile, they lived rich, healthy and joyful lives. We now know that people in the Stone Age only worked a few hours per day, had less diseases than later time periods and enjoyed art and ceremonies.
I've tried to watch Early Man a few times, I think 3 or 4, and each time I stopped the movie and switched to something else. It felt super lacking and I was bored and distracted watching it. And this is coming from someone who religiously watched stop motion animation as a kid. It was disappointing.
Here is another canceled production from DreamWorks it was called Zodiac which was kinda like Zootopia but the film was cancelled when Universal Studios bought DreamWorks in 2016 can you tell us what happened to the cancelled Larikins and B.o.o. videos did it get Copyrighted or something it just disappeared
I still love the Croods as one of my all time favorite dreamworks movies, Aardman or no Aardman. Though I have seen Chicken Run recently for the first time and I liked it and Flushed Away is also up there as one of my favorite dreamworks movies.
Bro me and family loved the first movie cuz we “related” to them. 😂 like my brother being Thunk 💀 my mom burnt the mom character my dad bieng GRUG cuz he was super protective and strict and so on and so on.
My only real issue with the film is that I cannot look the youngest child’s pigtails. I really thought that they were snakes till recently the second film’s trailer, looked closely, and noticed the tiny legs and antennae. Sigh…Being afraid of both millipedes and centipedes is a bitch.
The croods Was really creative in the mix of animals. I’m surprised they didn’t milk them dry with endless products of toys.
True
Ikr?
I would’ve totally bought some plushies based off of the animals
What's wrong with products?

The Croods is underrated. It’s cool to see people still talking about it 10 years later
Yes
The crowds
I remember I was so hyped waiting for the 2nd one to come out
I feel like the Spinoff prequel of it was even more underrated. I loved watching that
it felt like it just released not long ago- ;w;
Serious talk, the croods was a really good movie
*The crowds*

Any link to the game freak game Tembo The Badass Elephant? Weird coincidence if not
@@TheNintendo12 not really, Tembo is just the Swahili word for elephant

My family and I quote lines from the Croods in our every day life. It's so funny and so appropriate.
"No no no don't eat it. It's new!"

I love stop motion. A stop motion Croods would have been so interesting!
LOVED the New Age movie, the fact they got Tenacious D for the big finale made it all the sweeter.
Early Man didn't do itself any financial favors by releasing the same weekend as Marvel's Black Panther.
The original idea of two cavemen going on a farsical adventure sounds more like Jack Black's _Year One_ than neither _The Croods_ or _Early Man_
What about that cancelled "Medusa" film by Sony Pictures Animation?
CUPHEAD SHOW DEAD-
CROODS DEAD-
my life is not going to be easy this year.
I wasn't a super big fan of how OUT THERE every creature was but other than that it was good
5:07 that reminds me, Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken
Unpopular opinion: the first croods was better than the second one
Not unpopular. The second one sucked
Second one is funny but the first one had a better message and story.

Or maybe they are.
@@stopmotionart8431 i checked, it was a different dude who beat him
This video is aggressively British. Ugh. Bleh.
Yes it's kinda not good?
@@Kostya2005 Exactly. It’s saying a lot without saying much of anything at all. Just kinda felt like he was talking in circles here.
it was for the best
stop motion just visually looks terrible
Bait used to be believable 🗿
Early gang
