We are a bit late to get hold of this motorcycle, but finally we got to ride the stunning new cruiser from Royal Enfield. DD, CK and I share our thoughts and impressions which we hope will be of use to help you understand the Super Meteor 650 better.

As an onwer of HD softail heritage - I am very happy to see royal Enfield finally entering the proper cruiser territory and they made it with a bang. I don't see any major issues of ground clearance ( mine is only 120 mm + almost 330 kg weight - and i still use it for my commute to work - alternate days). Finally many people who love cruisers will be able to get one without breaking the bank balance.
Also, since this is a global product, aftermarket companies will definitely come up with accessories - so win win for the buyer.

This bike needs seat like the spring loaded cantilever types on old scooters. Most comfortable seats , just needs a modern upgrade to control the spring damping, unfortunately never seen anybody modify it.

Hi guys, what’s your opinion on the super meteor on ghat/winding roads?
Would it be enjoyable or will it be a workout ?
Would you guys be doing a more detailed ride review of the super meteor?
The SM will perform quite well and will be fun on hilly and winding roads provided that the roads are not too broken up or rutted.
It's a great cruiser to munch 100s of highway miles in a day, provided the roads are decent.
And for the moment we have no plans to shoot another review of this model in the near future. Cheers!
I'm looking forward to it here in the US, but I'm afraid that the pricing vs the Kawasaki Vulcan S for overall features will make the decision much harder than I hoped. I'm expecting there to be much less of a difference than I had hoped (the Vulcan is likely not to be "twice the price" here), although I think that even the Celestial (which I would like to purchase) will be a little less than the base Vulcan S. We'll see... 🙂
Hi! The demand and supply gap stands at 4 months at the moment in India. So I wonder when RE will be able to supply vehicles on time across the globe.
And in developed markets the price difference vs the Vulcan could be quite different.

@Biker Thanks, but rebel 500 is too small a triangle for me (older, bad hips and back). Last bike was a 2014 Triumph Thunderbird, way too heavy nowadays so looking for something with decent performance but light weight and fun - still with forward controls instead of mid controls. Probably be the Vulcan in the end.
@Biker Thanks, but I'm really looking more for forward controls instead of mid. And I'm not worried about speed, as long as it keeps up with traffic on the highway.

You need to work on your Camera setup and lighting. Background is important but that should be secondary when you shoot in the open where you can't control the light.

the new global middle weight cruiser king: Japanese cruisers perform well but look like Comedy bikes, the OG Americans are too expensive to have any value for experience, European cruisers cost 4 kidneys & a dozen of livers & the rest have no clue what a cruiser is, ,so this is it if you fancy a cruiser

Hello Guys- saw some videos where the rear suspension setting is set to "2" and seems that makes a difference. Do you suggest trying it or see some issues doing that?

I want a suggestion. I am not a long rider but a weekend rider and use bike occasionally. I am a first time biker but confused between duke 390 vs meteor 650 and totally confused but want your suggestion on right bike for me in Bangalore for weekend rides
Test ride and choose. They are quite different to each other.

RESM650 is an Urban Cruiser. It needs to ridden neat like a sedan car not like any other motor cycle maintaining its dignity as a sedan of motorcycle category😊

Every other reviewer has clearly mentioned this is very poor in urban environment and the platform is designed for open highways. Sedan car comparison is better with Sports bike with stiff suspension and low ground clearance.
Cruisers are like engaged freedom seekers just roll like a rock......
