Ich tanze selbst Garde und weiß wie anstrengend das ist, es war wirklich traumhaft alle waren synchron ihr habt schön gelächelt und getanzt. Macht weiter so!!

In the more authoritian societies of the last centuries, Karneval was the day where everyone was allowed to critizise everybody. Thats why the costumes have that 18th century military style. Nowadays its a demanding and competetive sport though.

Thats the purpose in Gardetanzsport (Garde dance routine). The display a group of soldiers. Just dancing soldiers. Hence the style of costumes.
