hey people you don't really need an expressive mic Billie eilish was recording on an affordable MIC the Audio Technica AT2020USB+ USB Microphone 119 and won 5 Grammys with it and recorded out of the bed room all you need is a good song and lyrics and sing how ever they did use a Neumann TLM 103 studio set microphone nickel that can be over 1000 but not 10
I had 2 AT2020 XLR powered microphones and must i say that is a damn good quality microphone for the price!
What u need is a good engineer 😅.. yea she may have recorded in her bed room but I’m sure it didn’t get mixed and mastered there..

I used the C800G for 3 years and let me tell you, this plugin ain't even close. In fact, no emulation will be ever. My advice: don't waste money on such plugins, save them and get yourself a better mic.

@@gaborkiss1425 You might find it closer to the Sony because it’s changing its sound by making it brighter and this usually fools the ear. Once you put them side by side you find that they’re not that close as one would think.
Remember that the Slate is FET and the C800g is TUBE and that alone is a very different approach, sound and character.

These types of plugins have existed for a couple decades believe it or not, and they’ve come a long way. Not sure they have anything that copies other mics 100%, but still adds some interesting style that’s useful for sure. I wonder if anyone has ever done a side by side test of just how close some of the mic models on this actually are? That would be awesome to listen to! Anyway, great video and cool tips!

Correct! It’s a eq that equalizer your voice to the emulated mic. virtual mix rack also has a mic emulator. It’s just emulate the eq of the mic you choose. Some mic has a brighter or bassy tone. So it give you options you still need to eq the vocal tho.

Which mic is the source mic?
Source mic is your own microphone that you use to record. The mic he’s using as his source mic is a TLM 102
Or you can just use EQ to get the sound you like 🤣😂
