    Just installed one of these and found this video to be very helpful in getting it done right the first time. One thing I would say is that making your work surface as level as possible is key to success. The adhesive is very low viscosity and will run to the low side of the screen of the phone, even if it's only slightly less than perfectly level. Other than that, it's kind of amazing how well thought out all the details are, and the precision of the parts, which really help in getting the screen protector installed without any flaws. If you follow the sequence of operations shown in this video you end up with a screen protector that you can barely tell is there. It ends up looking and feeling like the factory glass that comes with the phone.

    Once installed this screen protector is fantastic.
    After doing this installation and being successful on my second attempt, I have a few suggestions to those doing it.
    First, have a box of eyeglass cleaning wipes handy before you start this process. These are basically the same as the wipes provided. I have used Bausch and Lomb Sight Savers for years for cleaning my glasses, including my sweaty bicycling glasses and dirty motorcycle visors. Anyway, if anything goes wrong during your installation, you’ll be glad you had them around to help with clean up.
    Second, be sure you pull the protection film off of the “dome” in the right direction. On my first installation attempt I pulled the film the wrong way the first time, and didn’t realize it at first and pulled a bit too hard. It didn’t break or anything, but when I was at the stage where the glue is supposed to flow to all corners of the protector, one corner had been bent up, so it wouldn’t lay flat and the glue wouldn’t fill in there. Thus causing me to start over. That the “dome” had been bent was not noticeable until the glue wouldn’t fill in that corner. And even then I didn’t realize the cause of the bend until some time later. Anyway, when I had to start over, this is when I was thankful that I had all those eyeglass cleaning wipes handy!
    On my next attempt I made sure to pull the film off in the correct direction and didn’t have any problems with the installation. I suggest you look carefully at this before starting the process, the tab to pull this film off is not always in the same corner, I have seen videos where it is on either the right or left, so don’t assume it is on the side in the video you are watching.
    If things don’t go exactly right the first time…as mine didn’t…don’t panic! If you have something like the eyeglass cleaning wipes handy you can clean the glue up just fine. That said, if I didn’t have these wipes handy, I don’t know how I would have cleaned it up so well…paper towels seem to get up most of it, but still leave a little film or streaks…thus my suggestion to have these wipes nearby just in case!
    BTW, it is harder to know where to line up the tape on a black phone than the white one shown here, but it’s not too hard. Just be ready for that.

    I was able to make it work! The first installation failed (uneven at the right edge); fortunately the kit comes with TWO protectors and extra glue, wipes, etc. The second time, everything worked like a charm. One thing you may want to address in your videos: the phone feels a bit gooey right after installation - I had to wipe off the edges of my phone several times, both before and after removing the protective tape. I was afraid that something had gone wrong - but it's all good. The tube contains a LOT of glue, probably more than needed. With the first installation, I had to redo my fingerprint. However, with the second install, the fingerprint scanner worked perfectly - no need to recalibrate. My Spigen Tough Armor case works just fine with the protector on. Again, thanks for your helpful video!

    Didn't open my pixel 6 pro for 2 weeks just so I could install this fresh out of the box. I have tried a lot of solutions for a curved screen when I had a Samsung S7+ and Whitestone Dome has been my go-to since then. **Please be aware this protector is not as hard as most tempered glass protectors, so it is prone to more light scratches, but I would choose that over an unresponsive screen or one that feels like an orange peel any day.**

    Make sure that whatever table or surface you're doing your installation is FLAT AND LEVEL!
    ALSO MAKE SURE ALL OF THE STICKERS ARE SEALED PROPERLY!
    First time installer and my table wasn't level and the earpiece seal was SLIIIIIIIGHTLY exposed. Once I applied the adhesive it slurped right into my earpiece 😭
    Update*
    After successful installation I used 99% Isopropyl alcohol and gave my earpiece a good brushing. Now my earpiece is clear again!

    Just put on mine. TBH i had messed up on the 1st placement so i had to do it all over again but im glad i did. Doesnt do edge to edge coverage, but the coverage is good as long as you have a case. With a case, the case will cover the curved edge while the glass protector works on the main portion of the screen. Also the fingerprint scanner works!!!!

    Awesome! Been waiting for a screen protector that actually works with the fingerprint scanner and doesn't ruin the sensitivity of the screen; no dead spots on screen either. Watched this video 5 times, so I'd get it right the first try. Awesome, awesome, AWESOME! Didn't even have to reregister my fingerprints! Just wish this was available at launch, as I had a few micro scratches already. Would 100% recommend this product!

    First time I had to install a protective glass on a phone, my old phones came with protectors installed. Watched the video several times before starting the installation. Wrote my own step-by-step manual to internalize the process. Despite all this, I would be lying if I would say I found this easy for the first time. Met several glitches: table I worked on wasn't as level as I had expected (yes, I had checked before and thought it would be fine, but it wasn't). So the glue almost went off the phone before I managed to get the tempered glass on. Managed barely, but it did work then and spread evenly as supposed to. Then the UV curing machine didn't properly work at first; the double pressing to get the 60 second cure working did take several tries to work (it keep going off after 15 seconds). When I finally had that figured out, things worked fine. Didn't have to reset the finger print recognition after installation. So far, so good. If I have to reinstall (which I hope will not happen anytime soon, I guess I'll manage better. All in all, a thumbs up from me! But anyone who does this for the first time: don't do this if you're in a hurry! Take your time to do this.

  • @JeffreyJDavis
    @JeffreyJDavis ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is the best screen protector for P6Pro, watch the vid several times before attempting but it's easy, make sure you have a level table. Be aware that once this adhesive is fully cured and the screen saver has been on for 6 months or so, the adhesive is stronger than the glass. you will NOT get it off with the laminated card, and will probably need to use a straight razor blade and some patience. clean up with ispropyl and 100% acetone nail polish remover to get all the glue off before installing replacement protector.

    While I’d love it to be fully covered edge to edge, this screen protector does leave some space around the sides etc as others said. That being said, I’m glad I bought this screen protector because it looks pretty solid and everything seems to be working perfectly. It’s much better than the TPU flexible ones (much better) and the installation went without a hitch first time. I did have trouble getting the glue out at one point until I found out there’s another lid to remove lol. Other than that, easy to follow installation and fingerprint works fine. Thanks again! Definitely recommend!

    I really love these screens once installed but this video could really deserves a lot more attention to detail and professionalism. Voice overs would be extremely helpful, breaking the steps down further as some steps really combine several actions, the text is difficult to read when then instructor's jumper is also on the screen, the red progress bar cuts throught the red text when the video is stopped etc, further details around the edge of the screen where the speaker is needing a lot of attention to detail with the speaker protector sticker etc.
    There are so many fantastic tech how to content creators on youtube please pay someone to make higher quality install videos, even as someone who has used these multiple times before the process is still quite daunting.
    I would add to anyone about to install theirs that it's very useful to have additional isopropyl alcohol and paper towels handy as the glue can really get a lot of places and the frame needs cleaning if you're saving to use with additional screens in the future.

    For better fingerprint recognition, register your fingerprints BEFORE you install this screen protector. I had experimented by registering after installing (deleting existing and re-registrating fingerprints). When using the sensor I had extreme difficulty unlocking the phone then realised I needed to apply more pressure in order for it to work. Then I took off the screen protector and deleted these fingerprints and re-registered my fingerprints before installing the screen protector. After installing I checked and It was recognising my fingerprints flawlessly without the added pressure from before. My theory is that registering your fingerprints on an optical sensor without the screen protector gives the sensor a clearer picture of your fingerprints as your fingerprints are closer to the screen granting better detail compared with having the sensor taking a picture through an extra layer of glass.

    Very easy installation compared to the older Galaxy S10 Jig, very happy with my purchase just for the jig alone. The cheaper alternatives have really bad installation process, this is definitely worth the money. The edges aren't covered by the screen so it's very case friendly, works well with my spigen case that covers the sides and the screen protector covers the center

  • @fofalooza
    @fofalooza ปีที่แล้ว

    It seems like it'll be a daunting installation given all the stuff that comes out with no instructions. However, the video was excellent and the jig insured everything lined up perfectly. I've never had a screen protector on any device where the installation went as smoothly or as cleanly.
    There is also a truly impressive amount of garbage once you're done.

    hello.
    The worst thing happened )
    I purchased and installed whitestone dome glass on my Pixel 6 Pro on the second attempt, because the first time, when the last drops of glue fell out of the tube on the screen, I snagged the table and half of the glue from the screen flowed into the side of the phone. taking the phone off the plastic platform, some glue seemed to leak under the bottom edge of the main camera, right in the junction with the bottom of the case... the gap distance is about 0.5-0.7 mm.
    after thoroughly cleaning the smartphone with wipes and 90% alcohol, decided on a second attempt.
    By the way, the second glass set perfectly and I am very happy with it.
    However, now I'm worried about the disaster with the glue spilled under the bottom of the camera unit.
    The consistency of the adhesive is very oily and even on my fingers after alcohol wipes it turns into a light layer, similar to grease (
    I do not want to imagine what will happen in the summer with this liquid inside the phone if it got there, because I live in a hot country and is projected a strong heating of the smartphone.
    advise, please, what is the best way to deal with this situation, if not yet take into account the service center?
    what is the risk of adhesive fluid getting inside the device?

    It bears repeating. Make sure your surface is LEVEL, not flat. My first install was on my office desk (flat but apparently not quite level). I didn't check to see if it was level but discovered it wasn't as the adhesive bled off to the right side, not leaving enough for good adhesion all the way around. My second install was perfect - on a perfectly level surface.

    Waste of money for me. I had it on about a 0.0000001 degree angle toward me without noticing, because the liquid is so thin it all just dripped out the bottom of the jig, over about two minutes. Which meant that not enough glue could spread all the way to the top, therefore about an inch of "unglued" area at the top. I would recommend using a level (seriously) to check you are doing it on a flat surface. This happened to me both times, now I have a nice gluey phone with bits of shit I'll be cleaning off it for months, and no protection. 67 bucks AUD down the drain.

Perfect fitment. No bubbles or gaps. Just perfect. All you have to do is 2 things. 1. Have a flat surface. 2. Rear/watch this video. I must ad that I had better alcohol wipes to clean the phone and found a dust free environment. Try to do this where there is not. much movement, perhaps do it at night when all the lit and dust has settle. Take your time.

    Nice instructions, but make sure to not put on a case immediately after doing all the instructions because I messed up mine because of that. So frustrating after all that work.

    How do you keep the dust away? Even with the stickers dust finds a way.

    • @GodOfChaos_HeXa
      @GodOfChaos_HeXa ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah, there is also a very large time period between cleaning and the glass being inserted, i cant imagine that not a single bit of dust would fall back onto the screen or even worse in the glue, you can still remove some dust from the screen but if it falls into the glue it will stay there

    Kind of disappointed. It's a great concept and it works about 99.9% well. Each time, I used both screens, I got tiny micro air bubbles in it. The first time I tried to squeegee them out and ended up squeeging out too much glue. Second time I got tiny microbubbles and a large one

    I hate this screen protector. I installed it twice and there was not enough glue. Then all that sticky glue made a huge mess. I would not recommend, expensive and lost money and the phone looks like crap now. How do you get that nasty glue off? I knew I should not have bought this.

    That video is sus. When she is registering her fingerprint, if you look at the little circle and it shows it going 0% to 25% to 50% before she even touches it. Seeing a fingerprint reader falsely detect input when there is none does not look like a functional fingerprint sensor to me.

    There are better video instructions than this. This one is fine, but I think it works a lot better when the presenter is narrating what they're doing. Just an FYI to those who are looking for installation instructions.

    WHAAAAT? Whitestone Dome won't let you open the products it sells without voiding its return policy. I requested an RMA within 15 minutes of receiving the product as it is more than I wanted to take on. They rejected it of course. Take your hard earned $$$ and spend it elsewhere.

      Ive put on a over 5-6 of these as well since the S10. Watched alot of good install vids took my time and was meticulous and had 1 issuse. took it off washed everything very well (PITA) by the way, but the second attempt came out flawless. They used to be $60 for 1 protector. Also, dont worry about that 100sec. stuff. I have had to wait for over 5 min. But it worked great just slow to get full coverage. Still by far the best on the market especially now they are only $20 each with a lifetime unconditional warranty.

      The directions say to erase your finger print before installation, and then re-enter your finger print after installation. This way the new glass protector is accounted for in reading your fingerprint. Did you do this? Or did you just install the glass and used your previously set finger printers (i.e., before the screen protector was installed). Just curious, as I was considering purchasing this screen protector.

    • @Stonefly2112
      @Stonefly2112 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      then you did not do it right somehow or you need to re- register your prints. I have done enough of theses domes to know they work better than advertised if done properly.

      @@larrynelson7839 I erased the finger print and re-entered after installation. After multiple attempts at this it still would not recognize my fingerprint with the protector on. Ultimately I removed the protector and re-entered my fingerprint again and now it works great without it.
