I remember seeing it spin. It span pretty fast for how big it was. But I’ve seen bigger these past few years. Hopefully they’ll fix this old girl up, and have her running again for the next 20 years. If not, they’ll have to replace her with a brand new one. One that might be a little bigger.
Theres no way a company in or around Cleveland can't reproduce any parts they need. We were at one time the hub of America in the industrial world. If they put it on the news, I'm sure a local company could have it up and going before spring as well as the one in Bowling Green. Save the millions, hire a local company. We throw far too much away these days. A city like Cleveland definitely can't afford to be wasteful in times like these. We need more law enforcement and help rebuilding our city, not new wind turbines. I'd love to see it up and moving again, but we need to be very conscious about the cost.
Well... DUHHHHH!!! So wind turbines have a lifespan and need maintenance? Who woulda thunk it? Replace the turbine on top of the pole! What kind of idiots are running the show here?
With the dozens of machine shops in the Cleveland area, there's no way there isn't someone who can make a new one.
Offer advertisements space for it's repair or replacement.

So the real story is not to buy used windmills from Europe that have already hit their service lifespan?
Has it killed many whales?
