Though some of the bosses do seem to have differing AI, I noticed Abdiel pretty much only ever targeted the protagonist, so I managed to cheese the fight by abusing Tetrakarn

Dude, this OST is SLAPPING so much, I thought it wouldn't be that good, but holy shit, they really never miss, this one had me on the edge of my seat. And this is like the third boss theme, can't wait for the rest, truly an agidyne OST.

Nlg, during my fight with Yakumo I ended up 1v1 with him after my demons were slain. Felt the sweat on my back, but damn did it immerse me in the fight along with the ost.
I had a dopey ass hard mode fight where only me and thunderbird survived to the end, and he kept using galvanic slash on thunderbird who I had a really terrible heal and mana spring on lmao Eventually I finished him off after deciding to stop playing super defensively and hit him with accursed poison.
Based, this was the main one I wanted extended cause it’s initially so short. This song is easily the most agi in the ost. Can’t wait to pick my game up in an hour.
Phys dampeners saved me. that physical atack that he stretches his sword basically killed any of my demons, even if they were full health. I simply deduced he used that every three turns, and that's when I used the dampeners. Might be a coincidence tho, and I just got lucky...
@@SaddestManEver Typically bosses go for their strongest attacks after charging magatsuhi. I could be wrong, but he likely charges before he uses it. I always use a type dampener for the boss' strongest move whenever they charge.
I don’t even watch reviews on the mainline SMT games anymore. Almost 200hrs in, the absolute marathon of epic challenging bosses, f#%& your review, this game is 100/10.

Radiou 2: Nahobino Booglaoo Edit: Just beat Yakumo on hard, Nahobino only. Still trying to figure out lore-wise how an average human police office intimidated me this much.
Strong humans are beyond regular humans by a lot in Shin Megami Tensei. He's like Raidou except probably stronger because he's getting some god powers from being so close to Joka. That's why he has the yellow eyes. Same thing with Dazai. His eyes change when his thought process goes from "simp for Abdiel" to "BECOME Abdiel". Nanashi also gets golden eyes when he becomes the god of the new universe in IV Final.
Now that I think about it, Joka and Yakumo were probably the two most difficult fights for me in my playthrough. Yakumo I really struggled to keep my demons alive against and basically scrounged to victory over like 15 mins. And Joka is basically the Matador of the game where you either have to grind levels or build your team in a certain way to beat her
Spoiler for the Yakumo fight: Alice in that fight was perfect. I buffed her up so much that she started causing +1000 damage to Yakumo with die for me (even under leveled compared to him) Still Yakumo was a beast and I hope he is recruitable!
The Magatsuhi skill Poison from Moh Shuvuu was what saved me out of everything. It hits a debuff & random status effect. Yakumo got hit with seal, which made him waste 2 and a half turns! Which let me blast the buffs and debuffs. Now I'm wondering if it could come in handy elsewhere.
Geoff Keely from the game awards didn't put Smt V for best music score cause the music is too good ngl this game would leap over every other game in the music score section of the game awards. Also I don't care if I'm not saying his name right👹👹

Just got past the first Fionn encounter. This song's straight up Agilao +5. It and the Abscess battle theme are currently my favorite battle themes in this game, wonder if anything can top it up.

NGL, V is my first ever SMT game outside of tokyo mirage sessions though that's not really the same. And of course, I started on hard mode ;) And Yakumo was pain. Even doing all the tricks, getting the affinities right, lining up the dampeners correctly, getting my entire party up to level 49, beating him was still one of the closest things I've had in an rpg and I needed quite a few tries. Even with double defense buff on allies, double attack debuff on him and veil on my team every round his attacks would still oneshot my partymembers. And that's discounting deathbound which was basically just beatable with phys dampeners.
How to beat Shohei 1:Fuse Alice 2:get the aogami essence with profaned land 3:use that essence on your protagonist 4:spam Die for Me! And Profaned Land 5:profit
But you cant get profaned land until the ishtar fight, and thats after beating yakumo and surt Maybe you can randomly get it from search spots if you are lucky as hell, but im not sure if thats even possible, at least it definetly never happened to me and i've played the game 5 times

spyglasses are usable on bosses. use them at the start of every boss fight and save yourself a headache

turn 2 he uses fire use fire damper, turn 4 use phys damper for this, then loop
Fionn loves to use Mac an Luin after casting Tarukaja in previous turn, whenever he use Tarukaja, it's the cue to defend / debuff / phys dampener

This is my favourite track in the game. It’s comparable to Hunting in DDS and Decisive Battle in Raidou 2 imo.
My personal favorite is the themes used for bosses like Nuwa and the Hydra and Punishing Foes.
It seems like my fellow Shin Megami Tensei connaisseurs all reside here, rocking out to the soundtracks in their free time. I am home.
