I saw the musical version on Broadway 3 TIMES including the closing. Such a moving and powerful story. Always cry when Marlena is forced to put down Silver Star
I love this movie. I wish it got more credit than it received. I cried at this scene because I lost my horse. Not like this but I put her to rest. I had the vet give her what they needed so she would just slip away. It makes me sick that the character, August would have them work until they no longer could. I would have done the same in putting the horse to rest rather than be in terrible pain until death. I’m also glad that she didn’t leave, she stayed with the horse to the end. In real life, that is what every owned horse, cat, and dog would like. To see a face they know, trust and love to be the last thing they see than some random one at their end. Thanks for uploading.
