CeX MUST charge the same for cover reprints, sadly. If you think theft is bad now, imagine what would happen if people knew they could steal a case, wait until the cover reprint version pops up, then get a nice discount to complete the game...
I hate cover reprints. It’s not fair if you’re buying the game you shouldn’t have to put up with a reprinted cover. I would rather have disc only for discounted price
A lot of cex cover reprints are from games that get left in consoles that are traded in too. I traded in 2 wiis last week and both had a disk in the drive but I didn't have the case. So I just let them keep the discs. Since this happened, they now have those exact games on display with cover reprints.
psp umd movies are getting more expensive and hard to find, i've noticed some of them creep up in price. Apparently you've got a £35 copy in store, maybe someone nicked the case for it.
Which CeX is this? Usually we head to Milton Keynes or Eastbourne as that's where I usually am. Good stores and always have some decent varieties. Milton Keynes a lot more for sure though. The UK definitely lacks retro game hotspots however. Not been very happy with how little access there is to any stores.
@devans5118 Yeah, I drive so I can go wherever. I have got some nice Amiibo pickups there recently. They often have some pretty cool stuff in some stores.
A few times now you've said Spec Ops isn't a good game. Not sure why. It's critically well reviewed and has a large following. I personally mostly dislike war games as I think they glamorise war... but Spec Ops actually shows it for the true horror that it is. Nothing special gameplay-wise (although it certainly isn't bad) but the story is excellent.
I’m assuming they do but I have still been curious to know if CEX take the reprinted covers back if you trade it in to them. I’m pretty sure they would have to accept it but I see everyone avoiding them so never heard anyone actually trading one back in to them.
And of course the 'same game' on the Wii, was usually not the same game as they would have altered controls for the Wii and not play aywhere near as good. Some Wii games didn't even have the option to use the standard controller!
How much do you think Cex staff buy traded in games before they even hit the shop floor to resell themselves, especially when it comes to things like steelbooks they could easily make money on
Been catching up on YT videos I’ve missed. You enquired about Test Drive Solar Crown. I pre-ordered it on the PS5. The gameplay is poor, at best. That’s providing you could get on a server. Then they suddenly insisted that you create a Nacon account, right out of nowhere. I deleted then & wasted another £75! Never pre-ordering again. Oh, and the character models, they were better on the 360. Don’t waste your money.
I saw psy ops on Xbox there. I hope the only reason u didn't pick it up is cause u have it. Of not u really need to get it. Arguably the most underrated game on the console
People are nicking game covers because buying just the disc of a game is very cheap these days. Iv been buying just disc for my ps3 collection and putting them in a disc holder like the old days. cheaper than a extra £20-£30 just because it comes with a case.
The reason Hitman 3 holds it's price might be to do with the shitty practices of the publishers. The PC version of Hitman 3 got de-listed and replaced with something called World of Assassination. Long story short if you want the Hitman 3 missions you have to buy all the previous content again. Sure you can buy a key from a reseller but most of those links will really be for the World of Assassination nonsense. No wonder the console version is holding it's price.

You don't have to put up with it. They label it as reprinted, so you can choose to buy it or not.
14:33 Ohhh shots fired, son. Spec Ops is fantastic. 🧐 It's delisted too, so naturally it will increase.
Spec ops is fantastic. Amazing story fairly good gameplay.
So. Many. Special. Editions
TVM makes Cayle jealous of his effortless success for CeX credit.
They just need to print high quality covers as long as I don’t tell it’s a reprint I wouldn’t mind

That yellow Gameboy was mine, i traded it in to that cex a few weeks ago. its minty.
Ah, home from my crap job, back into my failing marriage, glass of merlot and a watch of a TVM video, life is good.
Damn.....and I thought my life was bad enough!
@gameshack1985 the merlot is a highlight.
@@reddeviluk well I’m work, home, eat, watch bad TVM video, go to second job and work again, home, sleep.
@@gameshack1985 Fingers crossed things improve for us both at some point.

This is Cwmbran CEX, I go there semi-frequently, definitely not the best one I have been to!
Bletchly is close to Milton Keynes and they’ve got a good cex, Watfords good too

I can only assume he's confusing it with psi ops. Or maybe an the older spec ops games on PC which I think were more like Rainbow Six.
I'll tell you what a scumbag move is.....re printing covers not telling the customer and SELLING it for the FULL price.

They do. They don't care if it's one of Thiers in my own experience
Tvm trades his special edition games for cex credit
I am gonna pop in on the weekend and consider the pip boy edition fallout.
That's a lot or reprinted covers. The problem with a Wii collection vs the same game on the 360/PS3 is the inferior visuals/no HDMI.
Good point there, Soundwave. HDMI connections make life a lot easier.
Are you collecting for any systems?

possibly, but a lot of the staff are student age so wont have the cash to buy up stock and resell it.

Is CEX a games shop?, its more like a pawn shop surely, it sell movies, phones, computers, cameras, speakers
They did used to sell porn by the way, incase you were wondering! lol
CEX videos 🤣 what a melt
Cured my insomnia i dosed off after 30 seconds.
