You guys have some good content but, your build-up is unnecessarily lengthy. Cut the chatter and get to the point, please. You are talking about issues we know exist. We wouldn't be watching if we did not already understand those issues. This video did not teach anything.

Circling back to this...I've got much more of a TH-cam focus this year. You have a fair point. What would you like to learn more about specifically? Everything we discussed is pretty much covered in the Crestron Fundamentals for AV Professionals course that we built...aside from that though, I'm always open to sharing some insights and ideas. -Dustin

@@ProAVSchool it was lengthy but I appreciate it because I am about to be interviewed for a job and I did not know the culture.

we built a course around these topics, "Crestron Fundamentals for AV Professionals". If you send me an email I'd be willing to give you a free trial to check it out dustinb@proavschool.com
(I'm the guy on the left wearing pink, these discussions we kept a big non-specific but there is a lot more detail in the course)

Where can I get the equipment to practice on… I’m super invested in the industry and itching to get better but I don’t have the equipment at the helm. Can you point me in the direction for a more hands on experience?

Thanks for reaching out! The biggest challenge with Crestron is that you need to be a dealer or affiliated with a dealer to have access to the software. The hardware itself you can get for a decent price on ebay, I would suggest at least a 3 series because 2 series (although cheap) is getting pretty dated at this point. You can simulate a touch panel or use the free version of the crestron app for very basic systems.
There is no official way to get around the software issue though - you need access to SIMPL Windows and Vision Tools Pro-e to be able to compile and load projects to a Crestron processor. (unless you are programming in c# and loading to 4 series processors, but you would need a fair amount of programming experience to start here)

I have an interview in the next week or so. New to the industry but excited where automation is going in the future. Any advice on the interview??? I’m well spoken and self driven. Once they here my passion and why I think I’m a good fit usually wins me the gig.
