As someone who's been listening to Indian classical music for the past 55 years I'll say the quality of Sarod and Sitar players has greatly declined over the decades. There will be no Sarod player like Ali Akbar Khan, Vasant Rai, Amjad Ali Khan, no sitar player like Ravijee, Nikilda of Vilayat khan, but I'll say the level of tabla playing has not declined. Anindo, Swapan, Sabir were good as they came, as was the next generation in may they rest in peace Shubhankar Banerjee and Shafat Ahmed. The generation following as this young man Vivek Pandya are very promising.

No doubt his contribution in spreading tabla across globe is immense .but that is also because of his stage personality. But I am talking about pure Gharana Tabla playing. In my humble opinion, Anindo da is best ..and by far .
@@cloveil No doubt that Anindo Dada is one of the Greatest TABLA Players, clarity in his playing is very sharp but Zakir Bhai is Zakir Bhai 🙏 Hv you seen the presence of mind of ZAKIR BHAI ? Within a fraction of second,he compose the bols and plays it. ZAKIR BHAI'S IQ level is very higher than the other Musicians. Even a second ago ZAKIR BHAI himself doesn't know what he will play , but just because of High IQ LEVEL, ZAKIR BHAI doing it very easily 🙏🙏
@@rupak_taal_7he learned a lot about expressions , stage presence and his signature impromtu style from western musicians ....... As far I know ...no tabla player had ever played with Western musicans so much times ...so that might be the reason
कोई बताएगा की विवेकजी जो तबला बजा रहे हे वो कौनसे सुर में हे क्युकी मुझे तबले की अच्छी समझ हे लेकिन सुर की समझ बिलकुल ही नही हे 🤔 और मेरे हिसाब से अगर तबला थोड़े ऊपर के सुर में होता तो video में तबले की चाटी और ज्यादा अच्छे से सुनाई देती, वैसे लाइव कॉन्सर्ट में तो clear ही सुनाई देती होगी अच्छे sound system की वजह से ! लेकिन बाकी वीडियो मैंने देखे उसमें से आपके video और sound की quality काफी अच्छी हे 🙏🙏
