One of my favourite scenes and tunes from Starlight. I am surprised to see, that much of the dancing seems to be improvised and personalized by each performer with just some anchor movements on certain cues. I always thought it was completely choreographed through and through each second. I am a fam since it's debut in Bochum in the late 80s. My cousin samg as nackup in the choir booth. He let me have a complete recording of the audio on casette tape and an instrumental recording of the show which they had for training purposes. I loved it and within not time, at 9 years old, I knew the whole show completely by heart. Insometimes couldnt understand the performers that had strong accents, so I learned it how I heard them pronounce it, which often didn't make sense. Many years later as an adult when I replayed in my memory, I realized, what they actually sang or tried to sing, and real8zed much of the lyrics much later!^^
Such a weird and interesting little song. Cool to hear so many different versions...though I gotta say some productions went a little too hard on the distortion effect for Purse's voice. In some clips, it completely overpowers his singing, and it sounds like he's unintelligible and singing in two different keys at the same time. Maybe they were going for an eerie effect, but it's not pleasant to listen to. Definitely think the fourth one is the best.

Wow! It's so cool to see what different productions do with the song❤️
Wow, you had a lot of work doing this! Thank you so much for the compilation! ^^)
Why does Purse's voice sound higher quality than Rusty and Pearl's in the London 1994 version?

Where did you get the US tour footage?
Edit: Never mind, is there a way you can email them to me?
