i was and will always and forever be team danny... i wish that he didnt die. rafe and evelyn had a love that showed the type of relationship that most people had/have, but danny and evelyn is the love that people dream about, love, and wish upon a star for. i cried when danny died, in my heart evelyn and danny will always be endgame ❤❤ and i think that when he took her for a sunset flight that was the sweetest and best scene in cinema history.
Though there are no happy endings in war and one could argue, that he kind of had one. He did not die a meaningless death, but for a friend and was not forgotten. Furthermore the child he left behind was not neglected, but taken care of. I guess in some way he was lucky.
