Carlos, I'm Loving the deep Dive interview with your Guest, I appreciate the safe space you provide your Guest. Thank you for the GRACE YOU SHOW each person! 💕🌹🤗 #CarlosKing #itstheconsistencyforme
I see someone not the most articulate and a boring person to interview.. she’s not likable. This seems like her attitude also shows why she got the axe.
Her tone of voice, her energy, her defensive responses tells me that she is still affected. She’s still hurt and still in it. I’ll pray that she gets to a space where she’s fully healed. I love that Carlos was patient, this was a difficult interview and his patience got her to break down some of her walls. She will get there. We got you LaTavia.
That's exactly what I said. She's very hurt. 😢 she's media trained to the max. I honestly love destiny child. I hope they make more music with all five members.
Right cause who wouldn't be upset at watching that Superbowl Performance. You would have to be Jesus to not be affected. I wish she had been real but I get she had to learn how to cope w this and this was her best so I appreciate it. If I was her and had to watch bey do everything I'm not sure how I could cope.
And it’s really gotta hurt when you know you did it to yourself…not telling your Mother about such a huge decision like that at 17 is INSANE 🤦🏽♀️ but we live and we learn…I’m praying for her healing 🙏🏽
LaTavia deserves to tell her story. As a kid who literally was obsessed with Destiny’s Child and watched the drama unfold it was so sad to witness dreams destroyed and friendships ruined. So happy for her and I really pray she creates a career for herself that makes her happy!
She does but she fucced up not working with Carlos and choosing money his interest in her was personal and he wanted to see her grow ….. But the reunion #DC5 about to Rain Down
Im okay with not seeing her on television again. I understand your tired of telling the story but WHY do the interview. Again u were a child back then and now your in your 40s where she could have told her story in a great way to say now as an adult whether she would have changed or not. He gave her the opportunity so tell your story how you want it told
I met LaTavia in 2009. She was traveling with a play. She was the star of it. I was cast as an extra. She and I interacted. She’s absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful shape, no makeup. Her spirit was kind. She interacted, laughed, and treated all of us like we were her cousins. I didn’t sense any bitterness from her over DC. I believe this interview was triggering for her and people in the comments should give her more grace All black women deserve to have space to feel and express themselves without being immediately labeled as angry, bitter, or rude I’m happy to see her still looking good. She’s authentic … she and LeToya have always been the most authentic ones out of DC in my opinion. Sending her much love ❤…
Her and Beyoncé were deep friends. They act very similar. She needed this interview. We get to see the pain, hurt, love, distrust, trust, vulnerability, freedom, and war scars she has. She needs to be on TV as her true self. I laughed, teared up, almost sung survivor all thru this interview. Thank you King.
Latavia had to make some tough decisions as a CHILD--choices no teenager should have to make. She raises a conversation about the adultification of Black girls and boys. Latavia was not responsible for her mother's livelihood and I appreciate how she responded to the question regarding her mom. For those saying she is still in pain, it is okay for her to still be hurt. Healing is a lifelong process. What is evident of her healing and maturity is when she states: "everyone has their story."
@@missamanda1430 Who says her pain is about the group? But let's say it is. Perhaps you were molested from 7-15, were adultified at 10, sacrificed your childhood/adolescence for your career BUT someone else's gain, got fired at the pinnacle of your success with no job experience/skills just for your employer and best friends to repeatedly tell the entire world your sacrifice and contribution was minimal and lackluster. The ramifications don't just stop there. But everybody sits here and judges what they don't know.
@@jrevelioright, she is one strong lady, what a journey! she could be sitting her blaming this one and that one, but she is without bitterness and that is her strength!
Funny you should say that because although I somewhat agree, I look at it from the angle that now that she and the other women have made up, she dont want to mess it up again by venting about how she truly felt. I feel that if they had not reconciled, she would have probably said a lot more. Nonetheless, her media training is excellent.
@@tdablack11I totally agree!! It’s possible to speak openly about how you truly felt during a particular time or about a situation even if you’ve moved on or don’t currently feel that way.
Beyoncé was young when it happened but Mathew was evil for how he kicked those girls out the group. They sacrificed their childhood to this group from the age of 7. Knew nothing else and he replaced them like it was nothing. Beyoncé is lucky they are kind enough to not hold any grudges towards her dad.
@@tdablack11I think she feels that she will get more positive attention by giving off the perception of being “friends ,” with B. Last I heard , she doesn’t have B’s address nor phone number nor does B show any support towards their projects .
At the end of the day, Ms Latavia Roberson is a 2x Grammy Winner and her vocals contributed to over 25 millions records sold including one of DC's biggest selling albums Writings on the Wall. Latavia doesn't have to prove anything. She may not be a vocalist, but she owned those bottom harmonies, played her part well, and performed her ass off. No matter what she will forever be a part of history!
Exactly......and she wrote on both albums, & has maintained consistent publishing. Hence the reason why she has never really struggled financially outside of the group despite her personal struggles with her health & addiction. She was smart asf, even back then. 💯💯💯
I met her a couple of years ago her daughter attended a private school where I work she is a very nice person she always made sure she spoke to you with a very big smile every time she saw you she's a beautiful young lady
Oh I get it!! She was the wild child who was smart, outspoken, peeped what was going on, was not going to be silenced by a power dynamic, and tried to play equal by getting an attorney for checks n balances.....and because the music industry is full of people used to getting over on others....she was a threat to Matthew and others in the industry. That's why they had to go behind her back to get rid of her and Toya
Yep in a couple old interviews I saw she was up front so well spoken and poise she should have went for some kind of debate team or going to law school she still can she could be an entertainment lawyer
Latavia not singing anymore is a trauma response. Singing probably brings up a lot of the negative things she experienced in the industry. Its probably too painful for her to sing anymore. LaTavia We Are Rooting For You!!! ❤
How can you say it’s a trauma response? I’ve literally seen an interview of her while in DC and she mentioned that while the members argued they never centered around roles in the position in regard to Bey singing lead. She specifically said everyone knew their roles and they were okay with it, so she isn’t personally as attached to singing as she was to her relationships in the group. She didn’t stop due to trauma, she mentions growing up her main objective wasn’t to sing and it just happened when the chapter closed she could focus on other things without it being due to trauma. Please don’t equate everything one does to trauma because it takes away from the person genuine interest and life and invalidates her feelings.
@@justuswhite8803 I'm not equating everything to trauma but it does play a role in why she doesn't sing. Even if singing was not the initial reason why she got involved with the group that still doesn't mean that singing does not bring up traumatic experiences that she's had in the industry. I still feel the same way I did when I made the comment. You can have your opinion and I have mines.
This lady sat right here she told yall her time in the industry was the funnest times in her life. She said she doesn’t sing because she doesn’t want to.
I know what people are saying about this interview being messy but what Latavia is doing is being a voice for people like Florence Ballard, Denise “Niecy” Clark, Frankie Lymon and so many people before her who’s dreams were stolen from them. She has a story that so many can relate to and she deserves to share because some before her did NOT make it! So thank God she is here!
Definitely still hurt, but it’s understandable. Especially, with how not only Destiny’s child was still able to go on as a successful group, but also how Beyoncé became an international superstar
@@zarario4444this is true but, the group was all she knew and just didn’t know what else to do, she got completely lost, but Letoya outcome was much better because she had support system her mom, brother, dad, Latavia not so lucky, single mom no siblings she was lost
I don’t think most viewers are asking her to be messy, we just wanted her to tell her side of the story. I myself was not looking for every nasty detail, but I definitely didn’t expect all these passive aggressive answers she’s giving and all the eye rolling. She just needs to not agree to interviews for now until she’s ready to be open.
But if you watch her and Letoya old interview it's the same answer. They wanted an extra manager from what they keep saying. But it might be much deeper than that and she will not disclose anything. Plus she might have a NDA for a lifetime😐We may never know.
I actually really REALLY enjoyed this interview. Idk but something about when Carlos asked her if her mother was upset with her, over her exit of the group, causing her to lose her job….the SILENCE spoke louder than anything. Made me emotional❤️
Let’s run up “say my name” everywhere! We need Latavia to continue to stay PAID! I’m so happy she’s good financially. I hope the same for Letoya as well.
Noooo their rendition of amazing grace, hey ladies, so good first album. Latavia and Kelly ALWAYS been THE IT for me as OG destinys child. I love letoya solo...latavia low tones were very close to the empress of r&b Ms. Toni Braxton 👑✨🏆. I like Michelle, she was very sweet, unique voice like tboz and just happy to be there. Lavtavia was so bold... maybe letoya and latavia had their reasons to just leave gracefully ❤.
I love how Carlos kept the interview going. I must say it was quite difficult to watch and wished she was more open. While I understand, she is "sick of answering the same questions over and over again"… She is in an interview to answer questions! And because she was a part of the the biggest girl group, she should expect to be asked about her experience in Destiny's Child.
It's good to see Latavia speaking her truth and gaining peace from it. Only the 4 girls know exactly what happened during their Destiny's Child reign. They made history and most of us were there. 🌹
I’m happy Latavia is getting to tell her story. She’s been through a lot and survived it all. GOD always wants us to tell our testimony after the test so that we can be an example of how you can make it for the next person. All the members deserve some love and grace whatever happened 20 years ago is in the past they are humans and allowed to grow. Much love to Latavia, Beyoncé Letoya Kelly Michelle and Farrah cuz they all contributed something to the culture and sang on records that made history fr😮💨
@@ThankfulforairinmylungsI mean she got the checks she was in the video she did interviews she did some appearances and performances-she was bullied then in the group and now by fans like you.
@@evatheresa8881 bullied is under statement. she is out of sight out of mind. aint sung nothing. i seen one interview and correct Latavia is getting the checks boo!
@@evatheresa8881 and secondly lets be clear. I love all the girls, but no everyone is built for the lime light and fame. especially trying to keep up and moving at a fast pace.
I can tell that she’s still bothered by her being removed and the group continuing on without her. And now that Beyoncé reached out she’s really taking refuge in knowing that there’s still love and recognition ❤. I’m glad she got the closure and validation she deserves!
I think she deserves to tell her story. I think she’s also just tired of having to defend herself against rumors of her being bitter. I also think she doesn’t really want to harp on the past because they’ve all finally reconnected and at a good space that she may not want to stir up old drama again and cause friction. Either way. I give her grace. I wouldn’t want to have to walk in her shoes. I’m sure it was incredibly difficult to work so hard for a dream with your friends to have it all immediately snatched from you. That’s devastating. 😢
I agree with what you’re saying. At the same time, I don’t think she has much of a story to tell. And I do believe a part of her was bitter because her expectations weren’t met. She wasn’t as hungry as the other girls. I think to her it was just doing music with my friends and whatever happens happens. I feel like she’s not saying much in this interview because she doesn’t want the light shined on her. I dk… I
@@LumiDee-ko6ezyou DON'T know, so sthu. If you want More answers from Latavia then go look up All the interviews she's Ever did instead of jumping to Conclusions. There's nothing to be "bitter" about as she's stated numerous amount of times. Yall think yall know everything tryna be too nosy, running with your own delusions. Get your Facts straight, not Opinions, &Let it Go
I mean, I was very irritated by the majority of her responses because why interview and not want to answer the questions we all want to know? Yes, you may have spoken about them numerous of times, but there’s a chunk of us who don’t know the story. The attitude and the nonchalantness was just annoying. I truly wanted to hear the story.
The entitlement in this comment section is astounding. People are totally misunderstanding Latavia. Certain questions aren’t being answered because of where she’s at with everyone at the moment. She may also be writing a book or something. I don’t understand these rude comments. Her story has to be told in her own way. Carlos thanks for your grace!
Facts, she answered everything the way it’s supposed to be answered. She wasn’t the DC spokeswoman for no reason… she is TRAINED on how to address/ answer questions.
Agreed ppl need to put that same amount of entitlement into their own lives in the areas where they are lacking and quit relying on the next person to spill some “tea” on the past. We will never get the full truth from any of the OG members or management. 😂 be happy with the same repeated answers they have been providing for yrs. But I’m definitely happy that the women of DC have made amends and moving fwd how they see fit 😊
Rooting for Latavia! This woman has depth and should be seen for what makes her unique outside of Beyonce and Destinys Child! She and LeToya were punished for becoming conscious teenagers and advocating for the group. Im sure they learned a thing or two watching TLCs story. This capitalistic shit can be very evil in how it treats young women especially black women.
Carlos tried with the deep dive but she wasn’t receptive at all. I believe she needs to heal more. The defensive back answers was hard to watch. Telling Carlos “you can ask them”, “I’m human” and other closed off answers were difficult. It’s an interview and I can understand that you might not want to share but you know the audience wants to hear about that. If you don’t want to share that’s fine. Say that. Carlos knows you we don’t! But I will give her grace as I believe she hasn’t totally healed as yet and is now learning to sit in her truth as she is here talking with Carlos. I do think only Carlos could handle this interview because baby! That attitude, head bobbing, next answer dismissiveness would if either irritated, angered or intimidated another interviewer! Kudos to you Carlos!
I was saying the same thing just by her rolling of the eyes. You can tell she still not healed. Yes it’s a long story it’s a long time ago but I still think she’s holding a lot back. It’s OK to say certain of the members piss me off it’s OK.
1. Carlos thank you so much for doing this. You are using more tools in your toolbox and giving us beautiful interviews. 2. Latavia looks beautiful. (Yes signature red hair!) I’m so glad she felt comfortable enough to sit with you and tell her story. She is healing. I love that for her. There were so many new things I learned in this interview and I am a big DC fan. 3. Word TF up to her still getting these publishing checks and having GRAMMIES! 4. Lastly, Latavia is walking, talking, breathing, HISTORY. I’m so glad she recognizing she is THIS. ❤ 5. Can’t wait until you come back and talk to us about interview and I can’t wait for the next one.
@tenderkissess that's true, but why lie and say no, I'm over it that's happened 20 years ago. You're not over it and it's ok to sat no, I'm still not over it.
@@latonyajohnson4239 you Know she may feel that way. I will say this when I was 38 I went back to counseling thinking I was over something's because I honestly thought I was but I found out I wasn't and that was stuff that happened in my Childhood.. people mask so they don't have to think about the actual pain. However calling her a lie is wrong . Maybe she does think she's past it ... remember people don't see you The way you See yourself.. she has triggers as we all Do she's not a robot... she's been through a lot! It's a lot To unpack and sometimes people think they've done all the unpacking only To find out they still got baggage... have a blessed day
Media training is not avoiding questions, it’s responding in a way that gives your audience value while respecting boundaries. I was confused why she accepted the interview, for a 27 year story, she seemed a bit salty. But, she seemed to lighten up as the interview progressed. This interview was an opportunity for us to get to know her, some of her challenges and her current projects. Honestly, I didn’t really follow DC members personal lives in the early years although they were from my backyard (I lived in HTown). I would have loved to hear her story but I didn’t feel like she was open. To close out, media training also means assuming the audience does not know your story. The statement, I’ve talked about this enough… was disconcerting. I do appreciate her being more open while sharing her personal struggle with drugs and father issues. Great job interviewing Carlos 👏🏾 Latovia, I wish you the brightest future. Loved the hair 👩🏾🦰
Exactly. Like… why accept the interview just to not talk? I get it if she had a project coming out or something but otherwise, surely she must have known that these questions are what people are here for? 😂😴
Media training? This lady has been through real shit. She was a teenage star not adult. She was doing this as a friend to Carlos. She gave what she want and left what she didn't. It was enough.
I will give Latavia grace because she was a teenager during the Destiny Child’s era. It had to be hard for her during that time. She was young. However, she isn’t ready for interviews and that’s ok. She should not agree to interviews unless she is ready to be open. 🤷🏽♀️
I’m going to disagree simply because, the exact questions she’s skipping are the ones ppl were and are currently dragging her for on twitter and telling her to “get over it” and she’s gonna “mess up her bag” and etc. but I think she just doesn’t want to throw anybody else under the bus while telling her story even tho you can tell she’s still hurt. I feel like she wants to talk about it but the backlash might be overwhelming.
Latavia gives a lot of Whitney-ism in the way she replies, particularly when she was going through her turbulent period. I really hope Latavia fully finds herself. She's been through a lot mentally and can still see a work in progress, but the progress is coming along and having her rooted sisters just tapping in will be that good fuel for her. I'm so glad her hug with Matthew helped her shed a lot, as that forgiveness will set her free mentally. Latavia you are an overcomer, just stay striving in the right direction. What's for will be for you in all the right ways ❤️
The blessing is that Latavia is thriving and doing extremely well! She overcame substance abuse and alcohol abuse and experienced other negative things that could have kept her down! She has found her “thang” with all of her businesses. All the women are doing well and very successful!
This is the first interview of hers I’m seeing. Quite annoying how she doesn’t want to answer anything because she’s “answered it before”. As if I’m about to go watch 5 other interviews to get the answers. She doesn’t think she’s bitter but that’s definitely how it comes off. When you’re healed you can talk about it, not say “next question” for everything.
L A T A V I A…❤ As a huge fan of Destiny’s Child, it’s refreshing to see her tell her story. She is sassy 💁🏾♀️, confident, and relatable! Go act, you deserve it, Sis. I’m so glad this interview occurred 🫶🏽
I am so glad that I took the time to listen. I love her ability to persevere. I loved that she clarified that their fight wasn’t with the members but management. God has more in store! Thank you Carlos! You respected her space and allowed her to share her story her way. ❤
My heart broke when he asked about her mom and the only thing she could say it, "you have to ask her." .....that told me all I needed to know about how her mama did her after she left the group. So sad.
Great interview, Carlos! I loved Latavia's transparency on leaving Destiny's Child and getting over past drama with Matthew Knowles, reconnecting with Beyonce, Kelly, and Latoya, and the rebranding herself. Love this! I'm happy to see her making a come back.
I love that she is loving her destiny. Such an inspiration. She reminds us that she is a human, like the rest of us and she was brave in sharing apart of her challenges and her victory. I am rooting for her!
I have loved seeing LaTavia get out here more and more. She was my favorite member. I had the most in common with her from being short, weighing the same(as I learned from this interview), to being a similar skin tone. I even eventually dyed my hair red because I knew it wouldn't look crazy on me because of her. I love that she's starting to get back out here.
She shouldn’t have done this interview if she was going to keep saying “I’ve said this before.” Or “I don’t want to talk about it again.” Some people don’t know, especially some your fans. Her defense made this interview hard to watch. Very disappointing.
Life can sometimes overshadow the great times. I’m glad she’s able to see past the troubled times, hold her head high, know she’s still worthy, and her role in making history. I enjoyed listening to her journey.
She held back a lot. She seems hurt and angry. Right when I thought she was open. Her wall went back up a true scorpio quality. I can relate to being a fellow scorpio and not wanting to look weak and people feeling bad. Carlos did great.
She was my favorite DC! I was hurt when I heard they were put out the group. To see what you've worked for taken away is heart breaking. I'm glad she's telling her story. ❤
Being from H-town, only two years younger, seeing Destiny's Child from the beginning, this video is an early Christmas present. Love Latavia! Thanks Carlos.
I absolutely LOVED this interview! I have heard of her struggles over the years. I’m so glad to see her happy, and thriving. It sounds like she had no clue how many ppl rooted for her and honey I’m one of them. It really made me smile to hear how she has overcome. GOD is so good. No judgment here baby. GOD bless you both. Keep pushing girl. You have everything it takes to get where you want to be. 👏🏾💯🫶🏾🙏🏾
This was a well-rounded interview with LaTavia. She’s Brave and Courageous and I always thought she stood out the most in the most beautiful way. 😍 Thank you for being the part of my youthful soundtrack! May Blessings continue to chase and award you! 🎊 🎉❤
Carlos, kudos to you for being a great interviewer. Your research, patience, and ability to ask the right questions and connect with your guests doesn’t go unnoticed. I look forward to seeing more from you in the interview realm ✨
I just feel like if you agree to do an interview, you will be open and honest. Even though she said she'd been asked the same questions, there's an audience that hasn't heard your answers and your pov. We're interested, and when you are showing disinterest, that's where you lost us. It leaves us to speculate and believe what was put out by the media. You may not get another chance like this. Don't take it for granted.
@@changestartsnow5116 it not about proving anything to anyone. She shouldn't agree to do interviews, OR establish the required questions up front BEFORE HAND-that way the the interview wont seem so dry and dead.
I love her energy. Super no nonsense and put a stop to the bs early on. Her and the girls have definitely healed and resolved their grievances and moved on. Carlos did a good job pivoting from that as well.
My girl still remembers alllllll of her media training. Matthew did some shit but when he molded those chirren of Destiny….baby he did a THING! I thank God for being a millennial and being alive to witness Destiny’s Child in all eras. God bless them all, and especially LaTavia on getting her light back! 😇 ❤ Good interview.
As young black women, the representation they provided us at that time was so phenomenal that there wasn’t a single rumor that would keep DC’s die hard fans from claiming success for all the girls…that will never change. We love you to the moon and back, Latavia!
In reality they do owe her. Beyoncé father was doing those 3 girls wrong and from what was said they kicked the other girl out the group not because she was too busy but because she was prettier than Beyoncé and that wasn’t ok with Beyoncé. Go look at Beyoncé old clips of destiny child interviews and look how she shades all of them acting like she was the only great one When we all know Beyoncé material was remakes and stolen material. So yes they owe her
That last part when she mentioned that she went to go hug Matthew and got that monkey off her back…Monumental! That’s where the gold is. Now she should go write a book about forgiveness and how she got through that process. Bumps in the road and all. It would sell out!
Latavia has infact written a Book she described as her Love Letter, we wer expecting it around the R&B Divas Era Then again a Few Years later.... Some BlackBalling Forsure
@@theresapeacock2894I see that too. I also feel going to renaissance may have opened old wounds. Watching Beyoncé bask in what you help build and get no praise or pay for is heavy
I wish he would’ve asked her more positive questions about her experience with the group. I love the writings on the wall album. I wish he would’ve asked about what it was like recording that. What her favorite song they ever made was. I get the break up of the group is appealing to us all but she contributed so much to the group so I wish ppl would ask her more about her contributions
Latavia looks so good and so young even while being the young age of 42!! God always knows how to mend the broken pieces back together again and he turns our scars into stars, so I’m happy that all my girls are getting along as sisters again! Latavia, Bey, Michelle, Letoya, Kelly, & much love to Farrah as well🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
I feel like she answered most questions with "next question". Even though she might be tired of sharing her story, there is a whole group of people who clicked to watch the video to hear her story and we still haven't heard it.
It’s as though she’s overcompensating to prove she’s not bitter, when any person would’ve been hurt (and that’s completely reasonable and healthy). I extend grace though, because I can understand not wanting to upset anyone and the desire to move forward. But I do think there’s a way to tell your truth without bashing or living in the past, and we’re all entitled to that - I’d love to hear her full story one day. 💜 EDIT: For those unintentionally or intentionally misunderstanding my comment, I am not calling her bitter. I’m simply saying she is fighting against that narrative, and IMO overcompensating to do so. And I don’t want to see her be messy, by no means. Why does telling your truth have to be messy? It’s all about delivery.
But isn’t it living in the past when it’s been 27yrs? No one is aware of her triggers it could be a defense mechanism to not even rehash . I think she did a wonderful job of discussing what she wanted and leaving the foolishness behind!
THIS‼️ I don't feel this interview is really genuine. Its giving... I don't wanna talk about it BUT agreed to do an interview that SHE KNEW the particular questions that would be asked. The way this is going, I WISH we would've gotten an interview in the early 2000's. That probably would've been more real. Anywho, glad she's speaking her truth.
I'm getting mixed feelings about this interview, I don't think bitter is the right word but she seems guarded and sounds rough around the edges. I hope she's truly at peace at this point but something is off.
This is kind of hard to watch! Latavia’s media training is definitely on point as she fully digested every question prior to responding as an effort to not step on anyone’s toes or to make certain individuals feel like she is throwing them under the bus. But, you can tell certain questions really took her back to this experience emotionally.
With so many of the comments I'm reading, I must say that many of you expected her to smile, not express real emotion, and praise Beyoncé every 5 minutes! Im happy we got this interview. She has been through so much. Stop complaining! Much love to those who appreciated her interview.
I think people gotta remember DC didn’t dominate the world until Say My Name. So she left right when shit was hitting the fan fan. I know it’s a sensitive subject for her
This is the most heart felt interview I have seen in a long time. It is my prayer that her best days are in front of her and God grants her success in whatever she chooses to do. What she went through is not in vain, but with purpose.
Carlos really showed off his Barbara Walter interview skills with this one, cause baby this is like pulling teeth 😮💨 He stayed Gentle and Graceful, knew when to back off and when to steer into another direction. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I got a chance to meet Latavia in person at a fashion show and she was such a kind and humble person! She took a picture with me and even commented on it when I tagged her. Just beautiful inside and out no lie! Congratulations to you!! ❤
I gotta learn how to respond like Carlos when ppl do me wrong. Cause he handled that with so much class, and persevered anyway and forgave. I love this
I said that too! She would be a great addition to RHOA hands down plus add Tamar keep Kandi, Kenya, Drew, Marlo we got a show! Don Vito is her baby daddy & he use to write songs with Kandi so it adds up
I said the same thing about her response to the management question. Matthew was a damn dictator and ruined things. Once Bey was grown and had a husband who knew business she got rid of his behind.
Destiny’s Child went on to continue well after Latavia and Letoya left. And Matt successfully transitioned Beyoncé, Kelly, and Michelle (and Solange) into successful solo careers. Where is the “ruin” in that?
Carlos, let me just say I love the fact that you are creating a safe space for people to share their stories. Secondly, I love Latavia so much and I’m so glad she found the courage to finally share her story.
Shes been through so much. People don't see it but I see your transparency. I am praying for you sis. You been throught thendrorm amd fire and I thank God you're here!!!
You could tell it wasn’t the members but management. The media created the drama with the story and fed it to us for the drama. I’m glad she getting to unload this weight. My favorites from the group were her and LaToya. I just loved their style. ❤️✨
Its interesting though because in plenty of interviews, Beyonce would always say the members were having "problems for a while." But anytime Toya and Tavia are asked about it, they never say anything about having personal problems and always say the problem was only management...I wonder what the truth actually is. And looking at photos or interviews, it was usually two together and the other two together like they barley wanted to stand next to each other at one point.
@@Wavylikedavieeshe was, Latavia is being more neutral because she is cool with Beyoncé and has moved passed it. But they were done so wrong by her dad.
I watched her on the Terrell show and while she isn’t strong vocally at all, she was still a founding member of DC and deserves her flowers. God bless her on this journey.
After 27 years, I can tell she is still hurt and not healed 100 percent from this. She deserves to tell her story but if she's trying to progress with a relationship with the other ladies, she might need to rethink the interviewers and her answers. Because BABY, we want this DC5 reunion and want them to be whole again. The other ladies, talk about this in a fun way and you can tell they have moved on, but she seem to still be hurt.
I don’t think any of those ladies have healed they just wear it better because they all have had some level of solo success, they’re industry. But we wan that DC5 reunion….tbh I don’t think Beyoncé would let it happen with her voice like this let’s be honest. she be getting on Michelle about the dancing so what more vocals.
I'm from Houston and I remember seeing a flyer for some kid of talent showcase they were in back in like 1995/96. I was in high school and they were amazing at that show. I became a fan instantly. And I loved LaTavia's energy. I was just drawn to her. Seeing them break up and her and Letoya leave the group was so sad to see. Then she just disappeared. So I'm glad to see that she's doing better now and she's not lingering on the past. I'm glad to hear her story. ❤❤❤
Let me tell y’all something she is one of the baddest tenor voices from females that I ever heard. That low range ain’t easy and to do it night after night cudos to her. Get all your flowers hunny. You deserve them!!

Im sorry, but she isn't healed from anything that has happened to her. This is why people think she is bitter. One thing I've learned during my healing process is that once you heal, you respond differently to questions that in the past upset u. Im not seeing that here at all. Im not being mean at all, but i hope that she digs deeper into a healing process that works best for her. It was hard to watch this, i was confused at times cause she just didn't directly answer questions that i really was interested in knowing. We all have boundaries, maybe not answering those questions r hers.
I wish her much success...she been through trials and tribulations and is still on her healing journey. She will always be iconic and no one can't take that from her..
Such a great interview. I remember them at the Grammys on the Red Carpet. I was upset that they weren't able to go on the stage to get their Grammy but their names were shown with the group on the lower third as winners. Didn't realized "Anjel" put an actual album out. I'm listening to it now.
This interview low key gave me Whitney Houston vibes. I do pray that she truly finds her peace. Based on her demeanor and attitude, she’s not there yet but has done some work.
This was so hard to watch bc she has so many defense mechanisms up. I can tell she's a beautiful sweet spirit. I applaud Carlos for not being pushy and always respecting his guests boundaries.

@@thecarlosking_I appreciate you asking her questions regarding her romantic relationship, too bad she refused to answer
It’s so nice that you said “we got you LaTavia”. That was really so sweet of you. I hope she sees your comment somehow because she needs to know that.
That's exactly what I said. She's very hurt. 😢 she's media trained to the max.

I believe this interview was triggering for her and people in the comments should give her more grace
All black women deserve to have space to feel and express themselves without being immediately labeled as angry, bitter, or rude

Funny you should say that because although I somewhat agree, I look at it from the angle that now that she and the other women have made up, she dont want to mess it up again by venting about how she truly felt. I feel that if they had not reconciled, she would have probably said a lot more. Nonetheless, her media training is excellent.

Definitely still hurt, but it’s understandable. Especially, with how not only Destiny’s child was still able to go on as a successful group, but also how Beyoncé became an international superstar
That was over 20 years ago. The problem now is LaTavia. If she achieved more in her career she would not be so hurt.
@@zarario4444this is true but, the group was all she knew and just didn’t know what else to do, she got completely lost, but Letoya outcome was much better because she had support system her mom, brother, dad, Latavia not so lucky, single mom no siblings she was lost
Yeah but at some point she has to let that anger go because it’s not healthy
I don’t think most viewers are asking her to be messy, we just wanted her to tell her side of the story. I myself was not looking for every nasty detail, but I definitely didn’t expect all these passive aggressive answers she’s giving and all the eye rolling. She just needs to not agree to interviews for now until she’s ready to be open.
But if you watch her and Letoya old interview it's the same answer. They wanted an extra manager from what they keep saying. But it might be much deeper than that and she will not disclose anything. Plus she might have a NDA for a lifetime😐We may never know.

It has nothing to do with rocks in space but the fact that she is protecting herself from having her life destroyed. Yikes!
@@Truthteller978right lol
There's not much you can say publicly about Matthew, Beyonce etc without burning bridges that have just been mended 😅 I understand why she held back.
Carlos really annoys me sometimes but he does a good job with these interviews.
Maybe she feels she has nothing to prove to YOU!
You can’t speculate when you can go back to past interviews and watch her answers. You just want to speculate
Couldn’t agree even more
@@changestartsnow5116 it not about proving anything to anyone. She shouldn't agree to do interviews, OR establish the required questions up front BEFORE HAND-that way the the interview wont seem so dry and dead.
Well said!
I don't mean no harm, but she acts as if she's so irritated.. Its coming off like someone owes her something
I thought it was just me. Although, I’m considering she was very hurt about the entire situation. Bless her.
Yea. She does. She’s probably still angry/upset about everything that happened
Well she definitely deserves an apology but I agree
In reality they do owe her. Beyoncé father was doing those 3 girls wrong and from what was said they kicked the other girl out the group not because she was too busy but because she was prettier than Beyoncé and that wasn’t ok with Beyoncé.
Go look at Beyoncé old clips of destiny child interviews and look how she shades all of them acting like she was the only great one
When we all know Beyoncé material was remakes and stolen material.
Mathew is lucky these ladies are so forgiving, he’s evil.
Gave me chills, I’m so happy for her!
She hasn't healed yet, she acting like she has but she hasn't.
@@theresapeacock2894I see that too. I also feel going to renaissance may have opened old wounds. Watching Beyoncé bask in what you help build and get no praise or pay for is heavy
Latavia red hair will always be hair color goals.❤❤❤ I am so glad she is starting to do interviews/speaking her truth. She still looks good too.
Yes! We need the formula!
EDIT:
For those unintentionally or intentionally misunderstanding my comment, I am not calling her bitter.
I don't think she is bitter, maybe cautious and not wanting to be triggered
THIS‼️ I don't feel this interview is really genuine. Its giving... I don't wanna talk about it BUT agreed to do an interview that SHE KNEW the particular questions that would be asked. The way this is going, I WISH we would've gotten an interview in the early 2000's. That probably would've been more real. Anywho, glad she's speaking her truth.
Yes… omg
Latavia is a living legend. Anybody would be devastated going through what they all went through . Thank God for Love, Healing, Deliverance and Peace
I think people gotta remember DC didn’t dominate the world until Say My Name. So she left right when shit was hitting the fan fan. I know it’s a sensitive subject for her
Wasn’t it their vocals but different ppl in the video?
@@ericawilson3666yes. The new girls were lipping their vocals in the video.
I love this
Please get her on the HOUSEWIVES ASAP‼️‼️
Side Note: Matthew RUINED THIS GROUP…..she don’t want to say it
But consider Bey fired him for stealing 😂😂😂
Yes, I wouldn't mind seeing her fresh face on a franchise.❤
I said that too! She would be a great addition to RHOA hands down plus add Tamar keep Kandi, Kenya, Drew, Marlo we got a show! Don Vito is her baby daddy & he use to write songs with Kandi so it adds up
I said the same thing about her response to the management question. Matthew was a damn dictator and ruined things. Once Bey was grown and had a husband who knew business she got rid of his behind.
@@knwashingtonbecause she is such a victim?
Destiny’s Child went on to continue well after Latavia and Letoya left.
And Matt successfully transitioned Beyoncé, Kelly, and Michelle (and Solange) into successful solo careers.
Where is the “ruin” in that?

Carlos, let me just say I love the fact that you are creating a safe space for people to share their stories. Secondly, I love Latavia so much and I’m so glad she found the courage to finally share her story.
What did she share?
Shes been through so much. People don't see it but I see your transparency. I am praying for you sis. You been throught thendrorm amd fire and I thank God you're here!!!
Loved this interview, she’s clearly still working through some things which is understandable! I’m happy using her voice ❤️
@@A_J___because Beyoncé was probably trained by Matthew to say that
@@Wavylikedavieeshe was, Latavia is being more neutral because she is cool with Beyoncé and has moved passed it. But they were done so wrong by her dad.

I watched her on the Terrell show and while she isn’t strong vocally at all, she was still a founding member of DC and deserves her flowers. God bless her on this journey.
Her mentioning the hug with Matthew gave me chills. So glad for her healing.
Healing? 😳
Her energy is giving catching up with a cousin that you aint talked to in forever! I loved this interview!
It ain't been 27 years since she been out 21. They started more than 27 years ago
I've always felt so bad for LaToya and Latavia. They should have sued the PANTS off Matthew.

Such a great interview. I remember them at the Grammys on the Red Carpet. I was upset that they weren't able to go on the stage to get their Grammy but their names were shown with the group on the lower third as winners. Didn't realized "Anjel" put an actual album out. I'm listening to it now.
