In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. I LOVE watching and listening to Mike, but honestly, everytime I see that he's wearing those pink heart-shaped sunglasses on I absolutely crack up. And then I think of the times that he talks to people whose trash he's picking with them on and the camera/light strapoed to his head....what a hoot!!

You should do a video of stripping out the big battery backup and maybe the computer, testing batteries, and showing how much wire is in a desktop. I've stripped out a fair few and you'd be surprised how many batteries are still good and useful. I've connected car batteries to a large (1000w) backup so I can use my black and decker alligator lopper to get roadside firewood quietly, also can use a 4" angle grinder without loading the 5 kva genset on the ute. Good for cutting up scrap onsite where there's no power.
About the fire extinguishers. I think you can go to the company that makes them and ask for however many you want. They will make them safe and depressurize them (expired ones of course)Some are aluminum some are steel.

we have had ours checked last week at work and quite a few required replacing due to their age and damage.
i asked the man if they recycle them and he said they are classed as special waste and his company have to pay to dispose of them.

Sure, it's all scrap but besides wipers and soda cans not much else and would need a bunch of wipers to make any $$

Okay, Scrapper Cousin Mikey, this will be my last commentary about the ALUMINUM CANS. There will be a day when you will regret not saving them.
I mean look at our Austrian cousin Bigstack, he shows his smelting of metal. Granted the accumulation takes time and the smell, you caould invest in one of those electric kiln or a gas and make ingots.
Just think about it....

The cost of wood , probably cost more than what you get paid for scrap , with that being said , you're not that one place that sells left over building supplies!!! Lol can't think.
Just a quick question - are you up to date on your tetanus vaccination? Really a good thing to have, especially jumping into those grody dumpsters, full of who knows what kind of bacteria.
I was 2 years behind on mine, not a good thing, because I dig around in my flower beds and compost bins. My doctor told me, that as a retired nurse, I should know better!

BTW, I do my part in recycling, by driving around each autumn with a bunch of grocery bags and a small shovel, and a tarp on the floor of the trunk. Folks throw out perfectly good dirt and even perennial plants to the curb, and I gather as much as I can! The dirt goes in my compost bin, and the perennial plants go in my flower beds! Why buy, when wasteful folks are willing to supply my needs?

You are the one that got me scrapping. I watch every one of your videos. I am 67 and on disability because of a motorcycle accident. The money I get from disability pays my bills with not much left after that. Now that I am scrapping I am able to go out and do things. Like fishing , metal detecting, camping and do a little bit of traveling. Like driving to different states that I like. I love the mountains. Thank you once again to interducing me to scrapping. Will be thinking of you when I am lying in a creek somewhere smoking a joint.

this projector I think costs 4000 dollars. here in Brazil it is worth about 6000 dollars
They had those projectors in some of the classrooms. Sometimes the buld would burn out and now have the led replacement ones made for them. I picked up one and it's a beast of a unit. Reason they dumped it was the safety interlocking cover broke. Simple fix.
