What is your favorite power leveling setup or favorite zone to level in?

The way I used to PL was similar but I used my bro's raid geared SK instead of a Paladin... The SK is grouped with Cleric, Bard, Druid for maximum DS. The SK just spams the [Sit] button and AoE Hate spells every time they refresh. Since the SK is spamming [Sit] the mobs die incredibly fast from the DS because they never miss a blow on the SK. The Cleric/Druid just spam heals on the SK because he is obviously taking massive damage from sitting down. This is the fastest way I discovered to PL.
I did the big pulls with my Cleric using various invulnerability spells.
      Great video!

I like using my max lvl Druid to pull entire zone then bring back to camp and let healer merc take all agro from healing then I use aoe pots on low lvl while stacking all the giant Druid damage shields on healer merc killing them all instantly. Wish swarming and ranger kill shot was never nerfed, those were epic PL. like bard swarrming entire zones.

On the old Anniversary server, I don't even remember the name anymore, I was fortunate enough to get a full group to help aoe power level my Berzerker. I think we did Paludal Caverns until 25? I wanna say we did Crypt of Dalnir to 35 or 40, Acrylia Caverns, and then The Deep. I don't remember how long it took but I know I got most of my AA on the same day too.

I've done this a dozen times on many EQ Servers. All you need is 1 Bard, 2 mages, 2 Enchanters, 1 Cleric and the characters you want to power level.
    The setup is like this:
    • You need to be in a Zone\Area that mobs agro on sight (way easier)
    • You need to group the Cleric, Bard and Enchanters; this is so that the Cleric (Puller) can have Selo’s when it’s pulling.
    • The Cleric will pop Divine Aura when it starts to pull, and when it makes it back to camp will wait until the mobs are close and pop Divine Barrier. Have the Bard casting it’s heal song …etc… So that it will get the agro as the mobs run into the camp, this will give the Enchanters time to stun, make sure you staggered the Enchanters stun by a couple seconds so that they will overlap a bit so there are no gaps in the stunning.
    • The Enchanters will already be casting their stuns as the mobs enter the camp, the mobs will be pulled closer together as they are stunned.
    • The Mages who will have the players being power-leveled in their group will start casting Scintillation (PB AE) with 2 mages at max hit will do about 684 damage combined to each mob.
    • Once mobs are below 50% the Bard will use his PB AE damage spells to speed up killing the mobs. If you have the Bard using Denons Bereavement he will also stun the mobs (as well as dot the mobs), which is helpful in the event of a stun resist.
    • Also, the Bard is to be used to tank any mobs that are not being stunned, and will continue casting its songs. The cleric will have hot keys setup to heal any player that gets hit, and if the Cleric has a lot of mana to burn you can have it cast its PB AE’s as well…
Super easy to do, just practice a bit until you got it… I’ve found Luclin mobs are the best to do this will…

What bard songs are they playing for the chain stun method. I looked and there are only two PBae damage song and they tick for small amounts of damage. Just seems to me it would take a long time that way. Thanks for the info.

    • @vanman2099
      @vanman2099  ปีที่แล้ว

That's exactly all they play. It takes a while to kill them all off but when you're killing all of the zone at the same time that's where it becomes magical. It's essentially the old bard swarm kiting without the risk of dying at all.

I boxed 4 toons back on mangler but I didn't start them all at once. I would like to run druid/enc/mage/pally?(for the rez) im at a crossroads with the pally cuz all I keep seeing is there trash in classic Era. With enc pet pally can just backup tank or will they still have issues holding threat off an enc when pet breaks? Do you suggest just going all 4 at once? I remember trying to get camps or groups running 3 was a nightmare usually could only get two at a time in groups

    • @vanman2099
      @vanman2099  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Man when I started on Mischief I did a druid ench bard paladin and I'm going to just say, the paladin is not the setback, its really the druid in Classic for a long time. The cleric heals are just so much more powerful it's insane, the druid has no group heals and when you start charming big hp mobs like in Plane of Fire the druid cannot keep up very well healing their hp. The way to do it is get rid of the mage and use the Bard if you're going to do the mezzing stuff, you set the bard to just target your charmed mob and mezz it so if it breaks the mob mezzes, the paladin or any tank is really good at grabbing the enemy you were fighting.
A properly buffed up enchanter pet is going to mow down any tanks you have and everyone around it, enchanters get a really fast cast short term mez at points in game. If my goal was to just dominate I would actually make a 6 man group of 2x bard 2x enchanter, cleric, and probably a warrior for big mobs. The enchanters supply more dps than any class for a long long time, we are in Gates right now charmed pets get the mighty debuff on them when you fight boss mobs but they still will do good damage. On non boss fights they are untouchable the planes of power charmed pets doing up near 800dps consistently with buffs.
You probably have the same concerns I did was that I wanted a druid to port and for run speed buffs, the bard runspeed is a lot faster but you'd still lack ports. If you really need to have ports you also have the option of trying to 5-6 box and getting in a wizard or druid somewhere.

Yea I plan to do the new server. I ran cleric, enc, bard, ranger on mangler and after I got those guys up I had wished I had a druid for powerleveling ya know? So I do want my main box to eventually be cleric, enc, mage, bard I think. Possibly add more when i start farming some Krono. So im kinda thinking about your advice and try pally, enc, druid, mage to start then I can powerlevel a cleric and bard together/powerlevel others for plat/Krono while I do it. Still bothering me tho if that's the right call ya know. Literally been thinking about it for days since I'm limited to 4 pcs atm. End goal is to farm.

@@spencey.3973 I do the exact same thing I have never gotten it right in the 20 years of playing so I eventually made everything, with a cleric and a mage you at least get heals and damage shield for power leveling and the enchanter you can group the lowbies in group with it and use charmed pets to make the end part smoother. I would always try to make like best 3 box combo, but I always felt like I was missing out on something

i have a question for you.... when i take my 2 or 3 character groups (boxing) all my characters need tocarry multiple bags and holding stuff, for all of the drops. ores, weapons food...etc. on your screen i see one bag!!!! who is collecting the needed drops for all of the quests back in the city???
i understand your power leveling, but to aquire better gear certain characters need to gather certain items. without a multitude of empty storage space on my characters, my characters either load up too quickly or they overburden themselves with weight if i put too many bags on them.
are you just letting all that game currency disappear in time?? or are you bringing non grouped characters in to pick up the loot after the initial time stamp drops and the items become free to pick up???
my leveling with 3 characters goes .... group up head out kill till weight makes me walk, then head back to town to dump everything and hope i have enough room in my bank spaces to store stuff so i can go back out and load up again.
my druid is the only character who can "MAKE" those good weight reducing bags . and its a pain to go get the stuff to make bags for characters .
chuckles its been a few years since i have played everquest so i'll be rusty as a newbie when i start out again . and last time i checked i can only use 2 or 3 of my characters on each GAME, dont have the money (REAL WORLD FUNDS) to open all my character slots for use again.
if i remember right i have 3 game accounts, with full rosters of characters, but like i said i cant freely use all the characters, yet.
my accounts have been inactive for so long in everquest, that i lost my house and space to drop stuff so my bank and characters have all the crap that used to be stored in the home i had built. it will take me time to unlock and reaquire the home space and open the character slots to free up needed characters.
basically i am asking how do you manipulate all the bits and pieces ???
your leveling so quickly with out dumping drops from what i am seeing. how ??? do you not care about the drops off the killed mobs???
jeffrey rayborn - old timer EQ player............... hoping to return to EQ and play my favorites again and how is it you have so few windows open??? my screen is normally cluttered 3/4 of the way around the outside edge of the screen with all the things i need to click on or have ready to be used .
how did you get down to those few open windows????

I remember people doing this, I have to admit this is probably the most fun and interactive way to level, I remember when I first made my bard trying to get this to work but mainly ended up getting a few good pulls while killing myself most of the time. I used to do the druid quad kiting back in the day too.

On Agnarr, I PL with a buddy that boxes a Ranger+bard+cleric+ranger+ranger, I use a 65 BIS Paladin with belt clickies for 15 DS (slot4) and 8 DS (slot3), Kilva potion for 33 DS (slot2), and a ranger casts Thorns for 24 DS (slot1). If the ranger is able to have his bard there, grouped with bard for Selo and DS songs (hold off on DS songs until the lowbies have hit everything). Pally works great for taunt and stuns to snap aggro back when needed. Plus root the odd runner. Self heals for aggro is usually plenty as long as the lowbies don't get impatient, and the fast cast heal is huge for avoiding interrupts.
If we are doing toons on all five of his accounts, we forego the bard and it takes slightly longer. If we are doing one of mine, his main ranger tanks it (also BIS, with tanking gear to swap in). We do Field of Bone spiders until 5ish (just buff the lowbies and have them smack them....those spiders are almost instant respawns, Kurns until 14ish, Paludal bandits until 23ish, Gunthak beach until 30ish, Gunthak fort until 35ish, and Dulak until 43, then take them to Paw. We almost always do groups of 5 like this, adding in guildies or even random people to fill it out if we aren't doing enough of our own toons.
Once in paw, we have one 65 in group with them (usually the bard), and the rest of them out of group ungrouped. Bard slows until one of the lowbies can do it. If the bard account is getting a toon leveled, than I have to tank at least until a low toon can slow, then/otherwise the ranger can. With 4+ out of group 65s, the bard and the lowbies, stuff dies fast. Especially if the ranger is tanking and I am on my monk, and we have other guildies that box with us...we have had 14 level 65s killing stuff for 5 lowbie toons at one point (all 5 were guildmates, each of which had 1-2 65 boxes to help kill). Gets hard to find enough mobs to pull fast enough for a group like that.
One of these days, I would like to compare it to one of those AoE PL groups. Even with just 3 rangers, a cleric, a bard and a monk, plus the 5 lowbies, I would think 43-65 would be as fast or faster with us.

The last mob will always run away there but because I pull the whole zone at once, the last mob is 1 of like 50-100 which you could chase down or let it run, runners are like bonus for me because they will aggro more mobs in if I missed any, sometimes I play AoE Fear song off bard and run around zones so the ones that flee bring back more mobs.
