- We're off to Monknash, or otherwise known as Cwm Nash Beach in the Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales for a day at the seaside. We're in the midst of a heatwave and, of course, the pandemic, so today we opted for a slightly harder to get to, but also far less crowded beach option. We stroll along the bank of Nash Brook, past the ruins of an ancient water mill to access the beach. Join us for our seaside experience.

I'm Imo and she's Izzy. We're a UK mother and daughter vlogging combo that loves to get out and about and exploring South Wales and beyond.
We're a formerly homeschooling/home-educating family of two based in the UK dealing with the daily challenges of managing Izzy's severe, chronic eczema and her education. Oh I share your excitement. There's an old working mill you can see in the museum of Welsh life at St Fagans. You would love it, I think. It's free to get into. I did do some vlogs there once, a very long time ago, so they're a bit naff but they would give you an idea of what it's like and if you would enjoy it. It's full of reconstructed buildings throughout the history of Wales that, in normal times, you can go in and out of, chatting to the attendants in each building. They are all furnished to different eras.

I just find it amazing all the rocks and so many tidal pools. The landscape is just so different from here. Would have been a good time to have a piddle while standing in the icy water of the sea.. haha I could listen to the sounds of the ocean for hours. I find it so comfy. I wonder if it was barnacles that were covering all those rocks.

Hello to the two of you. The pathways are always so nicely groomed.. and I can imagine the air as being so fresh. Wow.... 19k plus steps from the day before is amazing. If you weren't in Wales, I would say you were walking through what is known as our temperate rainforest. A little fyi, close to 25% of the world's temperate rainforest is in B.C. (Canada) I love hiking along pathways with the many waterfalls, ferns, large trees, and cool moist air.

Loved the Mill bits. Is Pippa walking in sandals! On rocks! Was it all GoPro, it looked really good and no distorted well done
Yes - Pippa started out in sandals, but quickly regretted it and switched to bare feet. I filmed this on all four of my cameras. The walking shots where stability was my priority were done on the GoPro 9 (with fluffits on for wind reduction), zoomed close ups that I couldn't' have reached on foot were done on the Sony Handycam with it's 30x noiseless zoom function. 'Vanity' shots at the start and end that were of our faces but didn't require motion and therefore stability were done on my new Canon G7X mark ii - which colours in a much more flattering way for skin tone (although sometimes a bit overly red, according to my graphs, anyway) and underwater shots were done on my other GoPro9 which has a sealed door and no windjammers on. I accidentally ended up with two models when GoPro messed up with the replacement of the faulty item, which I'm making the most of by having one for dry shots and one for full-on submersion! :¬D
Now that is quite a walk to the beach! Not been to a beach like this in a long time, it's all been beaches right outside our hotel :)

The weather is amazing. Was there a heatwave? Although I must say that ocean looks cold. That must be the GoPro you are filming with. The waterproof title still scares me.
Apparently it was a heatwave! I don't think I uncovered my arms or legs for any of it, though!
if you need any "ding!" sound effects I'm pretty sure youtube has a library of free sound effects you can download :)
🤣 I actually went searching once, couldn't find any and made my own with my glockenspiel. Which worked out well as I could chose the pitch.
I've seen both versions of the The Fog, both the original and the re-make but the original to me was much scarier - the re-make relied to much on special effects
