Soyeon actually put forth the "everyone have blonde hair for the comeback" idea and let everyone make their own decision. She said if everyone wasn't on board, she had another idea. Shuhua made the choice to dye her hair with the rest of the group for the concept, she had another option but chose it

That's true but not always. Most of the time yes, if they constantly dye their hair especially . However, Karina and Shuhua both had very healthy and long black hair without extensions before bleaching to blonde. Now both of them wear extensions.
I also think that both Karina and Shuhua like their long hair but had to cut off their hair and go short cuz the hair was so damaged. And therefore they wear extensions now for the long hair look.

Lia tho has colored her hair multiple times before. She has also tired various hair cuts/styles too.(Karina and Shuhua never had short hair until they had to).She just never went blonde until cake era and that's when she really damaged hair.
In this day and age, where lace front wigs exist it baffles me that the companies destroy their idol's hair like that. Human hair lace front wigs are expensive, yes, but they can be reused many times if well maintained and surely the bigger entertainment companies could afford to get some for at least the idols who bring in lots of money. There are lace front wigs for men too these days.

@@authorviviannehillary it's one thing when you dye your hair for your personal reasons and it's another when you do for the job (even if you chose it). South Korea promotes hard work, so I doubt many idols have the guts to say NO to their company.

I bleached bathed twice, well 1/2 the roots was just directly applied, toned, boxed dyed, left my crazy concoctions on em for however long all in a weeks worth, & my heads still tender.roots r still pale orange & I'm pissed. The rest of my hair? No problem. Takes all kinds of colors. But now it's just dark gray. I don't mind it, it's not exactly what I wanted. I'm just gonna let it fade & walk around orange f it. My hairs still healthy tho. That time I saw Mundo saying silver hair won't be shiny. My hair was def shiny as a platinum silver
Maybe it's bleached 3 times in one salon visit to get it to platinum, many people's hair doesn't lift to platinum in one go

There are some strong wig glues out there that could help them stay on. Ik that fatou from blackwater uses wigs instead of dying her hair and they do pretty well in concerts

They already do tho… They often use wigs for photoshoots or at the beginning of promotions during the MV shooting. It’s honestly more work than real hair and wearing wigs for a long time is tiring. Your head starts hurting, it becomes itchy and it’s hot.
They have glueless ones, and breathable ones. Both can be removed in 3 seconds. Id rather be temporarily hot, than totally mess up my hair.

just reminding y'all that bleaching and dyeing hair can be achieved while maintaining healthy hair, the problem with kpop hair styling is that they change idol's hair colors way too often and way too drastically within short periods of time
this! I've been bleaching my hair for well over a decade but I do it once every 1-2 months on my own with a store-bought bleach/dye and definitely don't use foil or anything to speed it up because that always burns my skin
@dalmajikkot90 it depends on your natural color too. A person with black hair will mess it up trying to go platinum. My natural colour level is 5. I went up to 8 with bleach at a front piece and used orange colour depositing mask. Did i regret it. Even wity professional hair products to mantain it. Another factor is hair porosity. Mine is curly and really porous. Asian hair usually is less porous which can help but the hair is black so id say anything above level 7 is a no no.
@@etcwhatever my natural hair's very dark brown almost black and it bleaches only as far as darker blonde but it does :) but I have very low porosity (at least judging by the fact that it takes some time for my hair to get wet, it usually just floats on water). I think that's also what makes it hard to retain colour though, which is why I'm glad I found a bleach that looks good without additional dyes that usually wash out even if they're permanent 😅
It's ridiculous how many people seem to think you have to actually bleach your whole hair everytime. They're like "Hyoyeon has kpop's strongest scalp, she's been blonde for more than 10 years", but that's actually exactly how she does it, because she's only been maintaining her color and not changing it every six months like it's required from other idols

Frequent bleaching, root jobs and full
dye jobs damage the scalp not just the hair. It can trigger allergic reactions and scalp sensitivity even later in life! If you add frequent heat styling, hair extensions to fragile stressed hair and scalp, you are looking at potential hair loss and breakage!😮

The reason their hair still looks so beautiful is because they have access to the best hairproducts on the market and have a whole team of hairstylist behind them. Most of them also frequently wear hair extensions, that's how they're able to keep them long and with so much volume.
For most of us, if we bleached our hair so much and so frequently, we would most likely end up losing our hair or at least damage it really bad. It would also take so much money and time to maintain.
Bleaching it from time to time is okay ofc and it's fun to experiment, just idoles really do it a lot
I also suspect that you don't see the damage when on camera ; not as much as in real life, that is. I remember when I had my hair bleached and dyed, it always looked super cool on videos and on photos because you couldn't really see the damage ; but in person it was another story, especially if you tried to touch it.
I think it's cool when idoles wear wigs. It allows them to keep experimenting while giving a break to their natural hair.

Only explanation that makes sense for bleach it many times and diffent times within a week would be to try to lift very stained hair from previous colours and even still hair cannot handle the bleaching that well...
@@hannakosonen5361 it’s impossible to bleach your grown out root multiple times a week. There is literally a healthy amount of root you should be bleaching. If you’re a blonde you know you can only refresh your roots once every like 3 weeks at the least. You’re waiting for your natural hair to start growing out, that is what is getting bleached, not your already blonde hair. Bleaching hair that is already blonde and to the color you want it at is going to scorch it and make it break off and leave you with like a pixie cut.
Honestly Shuhua POPPED OFF the visual charts when she went blonde, but so glad she is going back to natural.

@@Havis_Princess Wigs have come a very long way. With an expert wig maker you can get custom ones that look so real you can't tell the difference. It'd cost more, but the idol wouldn't lose their healthy hair.

The thing I hate about these k-idol hairstylists is that they never use any hair treatment like Olaplex to strengthen the hair. My theory on why they do this is because they like the “aesthetic” of how the hair looks when it’s fried, crispy and fluffy. It’s a trend that needs to be stopped cuz crunchy ass hair ain’t cute. Yet these stylist thinks it’s cute. You know damn well these higher paying agencies can afford hair treatments in the budget. But for some reason they don’t wanna spend on it.

it really is so hard to get the health back, i’ve had healthy hair all my life so i thought some chunky highlights wouldn’t hurt much but the texture is entirely different when u bleach it it feels 3x thinner and lighter and it’s scary cause it feels like it’ll just fall out. i can’t imagine the stress of having a full bleached head 😭 im still doing little trims throughout my hair and gave myself some extra layers to blend breakage thankfully none of this is noticeable with curls

My hair natural is frizzy and curly and thin but when I bleached it it became less frizzy and more straight making it easier to work with

Always take care of your hair. I only dye it once a month or once the 2 months blonde. And I use 6 ish products and my hair still is somehow healthy. I use purple conditioner, masks, and shampoo. Mostly masks, for my hair to not be weak.
