      @@jonkyonk3901 My SL6 has a threaded BB, it's a 2019 frame. As we've seen with the SL7 recall, internal cable routing has proven its flaws, and we're seeing a return even on newer bikes to exposed cables. Bring the cables back!! lol

    A buddy of mine just picked one up a couple months ago, used, from pro’s closet for $6000. It weighs just a over 13 lbs with full dura-ace Di2’s, EE brakes and Roval wheels. It’s an insane climbing machine.

    I really don't want to start another "rim vs disc" debate, but that said, there's just something beautiful about the aesthetics of a rim brake bike!

    • @yonglingng5640
      @yonglingng5640 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is especially true for Cannondale's CAAD12 (disc runs thru-axle front and QR rear, WTF Cannondale??) and previous-gen SuperSix EVO. I miss the classic aesthetics of old Cannondales, new ones look graphically boring, like a Marks & Spencer packaging.

    I love bike building and this is a very cool total package. I do think it’s odd that you would make a bike as light as possible but use an ultegra 12-23 cassette and big ol’ crankset :) Looks awesome and the frame is incredible. I have an SL4 , mechanical RED that I have built as my climbing bike.Very light and gearing set up with a 32 tooth cassette and 34 tooth small chainring. In licensed events I’ve had to tape my multi tool to the frame to meet the minimum weight requirement. Keep the videos coming, could watch stuff like this all day

  • @mikehansen71

    I have this bike w/ the CLX32s and it's AMAZING. I have it down to 13.2lbs. Takeoff speed.... the responsiveness on climbs.. unreal. Best rim brakes I've ever had. Make sure to be careful w/ the chain drops / slaps.. that paint chips very easily. No way I would pay that extra couple thousand for the SL7.

    I had one and regretted selling it but I like my current rim brake bike even better. 2017 Cannondale Supersix Hi-Mod. Cheaper. Lighter. Handles better. I love the looks of it. SL6 sloped top tube was always something I wish I didn't have. Cdale is almost horizontal like the good old race bikes. Having said that SL6 Ultralight Rim is still one of my favorite bikes ever. I prefer it to current SL7 and Aethos (owned both. I just can't love disc brake bikes I guess).
    You can see mine here: It was built 5.69kg www.google.com/maps/@-33.9273147,151.2538033,3a,75y,90t/data=!3m7!1e2!3m5!1sAF1QipOf_FkaP8OrX3bgV8wm6qjHTC0Sa2xAKR7BPOu-!2e10!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipOf_FkaP8OrX3bgV8wm6qjHTC0Sa2xAKR7BPOu-%3Dw150-h150-k-no-p!7i1542!8i1030

      Nice! I was just thinking the same. I own a 2018 Evo HM 54cm at 14lbs and that not even going full weight weenie. Love it, not too sure how I feel about this new aero way they went about it now though.

    Aethos is still the lightest bike Specialized ever made... (Maybe this is in contention for the lightest rim-brake bike Specialized has ever made) Did you get to weigh the frame and fork on this SL6 before building it?

      @GCPerformance18  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      no I didnt, he brought ti to me with the brakes and bar and stem installed and we have been so busy I ddint have the time to take it apart but yes for sure the aethos is so so nice and vcrazy light for being a disc brake bike and still kills rim brake weigths

    while it is nobody's business how someone spends their hard earned money, one cant help but hope a bike like this doesnt go to a person who doesnt match it ability and fitness level wise. although it could always be used as a motivational tool to get there

      if it´s nobodys business how people spend their money, then why are you writing this comment..? Some people see (custom) bikes like these as collectibles/art and maybe ride them 2 times a year or not at all.
