@@jonkyonk3901 My SL6 has a threaded BB, it's a 2019 frame. As we've seen with the SL7 recall, internal cable routing has proven its flaws, and we're seeing a return even on newer bikes to exposed cables. Bring the cables back!! lol
Pure class that bike. It's so easy to appreciate bikes like these, now that rim brakes come as seldom as they do. Hope the guy cherishes it for all his years
A buddy of mine just picked one up a couple months ago, used, from pro’s closet for $6000. It weighs just a over 13 lbs with full dura-ace Di2’s, EE brakes and Roval wheels. It’s an insane climbing machine.
This is especially true for Cannondale's CAAD12 (disc runs thru-axle front and QR rear, WTF Cannondale??) and previous-gen SuperSix EVO. I miss the classic aesthetics of old Cannondales, new ones look graphically boring, like a Marks & Spencer packaging.
It’s like a 2022 Aethos and 2022 Tarmac had a baby, but that baby received the recessive genes for rim brakes. Such an awesome build that stands up to the test of time.
I love bike building and this is a very cool total package. I do think it’s odd that you would make a bike as light as possible but use an ultegra 12-23 cassette and big ol’ crankset :) Looks awesome and the frame is incredible. I have an SL4 , mechanical RED that I have built as my climbing bike.Very light and gearing set up with a 32 tooth cassette and 34 tooth small chainring. In licensed events I’ve had to tape my multi tool to the frame to meet the minimum weight requirement. Keep the videos coming, could watch stuff like this all day
I have this bike w/ the CLX32s and it's AMAZING. I have it down to 13.2lbs. Takeoff speed.... the responsiveness on climbs.. unreal. Best rim brakes I've ever had. Make sure to be careful w/ the chain drops / slaps.. that paint chips very easily. No way I would pay that extra couple thousand for the SL7.
Great frame & build! Thanks for sharing. I have one too, 14lbs with pedals! eeBrakes (G4), eeWings, Zipp SL Sprint stem & SL Aero bar. Roval CLX 50 & 28C Schwalbe One. Mechanical ST-R8000 shifters, RD-R9100, FD-R9000. PD-9100. The SL6 Ultra Light frame is still competitively light at ~740g - it's not lacking stiffness either. The frame has a BB30 BB shell so you can convert it to whichever standard you need.
SL6 rim was almost the perfect bike, just missing threaded bb on there. Perfect balance between light as fuck and pseusdo aero gimmick. I own one and it dope. #rimbrakefanclub
yea I agree there if it was threaded it would be amazing, also I had some issues with certain models droping seatposts right off the rip but some were money and had no issues
The SL7! you get a heavier bike with issues. A friend of mine has an SL7 and it rattles like a pair of maracas. Bike shop is not able to fix the issue.
One of the nicest rides you've featured. Very nice build. Probably some more weight to be saved in the wheels and tubes (and pedals?) if you really want to go full weight weenie.

Nice build! Making it lighter than it is really amazing. Unfortunately, I'm 260lbs so that weight won't help much, I'll get back to you when I'm 30-40lbs lighter.🚲
If it's possible to get them Lekki8 carbon fiber caliper brakes. Might reduce the overall weight of the bike. Get under the 14 pound weight. It'll cost the customer if price is no object for the lightest bike for specialized. Maybe. But with covid going around. Most likely not for this year.
