"I left the room and I thought : shit... I blew that one !" She killed me with that line, I was not expecting her to drop that word. And LOL at the fact that more than half of the comments are about Lana and her voice xD
Nobody is as such born evil. That's impossible. Things happen to form your personality. Fair enough, something traumatic doesn't have to occur. It can be something small, or something so insignificant it can barely count as a reason. The reasons don't count for an excuse, because for evil there isn't really an excuse, just a reason behind it all. Rumple turned evil because of his constant over-protection of his son, and Regina turned evil because of the death of her lover. Evil is made!
I can see your point of view, but the point of my original comment was to say that I feel that all the villains have backstory, and it would be nice to see a unique one who was just sociopathic. Not to mention that if it really is good vs evil, trying to make people feel sorry for evil defeats the purpose of defeating them. Not to mention sociopaths aren't portrayed in films or television very much, which is slightly unrealistic as it is in fact a fairly common condition.
I have to say, I do wish they hadn't given the Evil Queen a backstory. So many of the villains in films and TV have all these 'motives' for being evil - lost love, lost life, etc - and I just wish ONE of them would be a plain sociopath with no reasoning except a lack of empathy and caring for human life. But, that said, I am VERY impressed with every aspect of this show. It's the ideal show for me and I wish it many more seasons. :D
Well the only reason I wrote back was because it was patronising. Yes I´m not a psychologist and from several places I saw it said that it was the same thing, I don´t want to get in to whole argument about it, I admited I just did some research not that I had a PHD on it. Still that wouldn´t be very entertaining to watch someone who is just derainged, this is a show about good and evil. I would like to think that there is something we can do, for there to be less evil in this world.
Wow that wasn´t patronizing, at all!. I may not be a doctor but I can sure as hell do some research and from what I have seen there is no one giving definitive proof of what your saying The cause of antisocial personality disorder, or ASP, is unknown. Like many mental health issues, evidence points to inherited traits. But dysfunctional family life also increases the likelihood of ASP. So although ASP may have a hereditary basis, environmental factors contribute to its development
I sincerely apologise for having an opinion, also for not replying in a while, you see I was arrested for carrying out the crime of sharing my views. In my OPINION, psychos may very will be exactly what you're saying, and the majority aren't able to feel emotions normally. People aren't born evil- that's more naive than any of my comments! Saying people are born evil sounds like something from The Omen. You are born as a blank slate. Things could either go good for you or bad.
Oh, I agree that killing people is totally wrong. That's where you make the transition from sociopath to psychopath. I wasn't saying that she had an EXCUSE for being evil - in fact I think this conversation started because I was saying I wished she DIDN'T have an excuse for being evil. But I suppose it is a fairytale, so my point is moot.
It was very slightly patronising, but at least it wasn't sarcastic. And I am actually a psychologist, so until you get your degree... well, there is nothing else I can say here which won't sound patronising. Antisocial personality disorder is actually a different thing from sociopathic or psychopathic behaviour. Although both appear to have genetic roots, but that's something which is under scrutiny at the moment. However, it is a brain malformation and tends to occurr before birth.
Good lord Lana. Your voice. YOUR VOICE. I need a moment.
"I left the room and I thought : shit... I blew that one !" She killed me with that line, I was not expecting her to drop that word.

Well that´s just not realistic, even sociopaths become sociopaths for a reason.
That's not true. But it's a nice thought.
