would all the grills be compatible with the illuminated star? ive been trying to get this grill for my cla 250, but never found a video with the illuminated star, till yours
I couldn't answer that definitively as there's several different manufacturers. But if the center of the grill where the star would be is empty like this one,l where you replace the entire emblem as a unit, it should be compatible with the illuminated star.
@Tony Maples Can you list out all the tools required to remove and place the bumper back. I got the grill and I'm excited to try this installation after seeing this video.

Hi Guys. I got the same grill from ebay. My car is on a 65 plate and after numerous passing of messages to make sure they sent the correct grill before I paid for someone to fit it I am now sat with the car in a garage in bits and costing me £100and with a grill that doesn't fit. I took my old one off can I ask if you have to use the back of the old one the mesh bit and attach it to the new one? Anyway the clips still don't line up. Frustrated
So sorry to hear you're having issues. No we did not use the old grill at all, only to line up the new holes. I think one of the problems is there are several manufacturers making and selling these, so yours may be slightly different than mine, or the person who is trying to make it fit could be having other difficulties. Wish I could help more, hope you get it sorted out!
Your car is amazing I have a gla 180 and I wanted to put a gla amg kit ok it but I cannot find any dealers in germany who will do it for me. Have you tried the kits from alibaba or did you buy the kit from Mercedes itself
Thank you! So this one came from a seller on Ebay, but honestly it wouldn't surprise me if the majority of the ones on Ebay, Amazon, Alibaba, etc all come from the same place. Thanks for watching 👊🏼
@@TonyMaples Yes I guess the source is china but just distribution is different. I am in Germany and not getting a Body Kit for my GLA 180. Moreover German workshops are not agreeing to touch anything from Alibaba and which is not coming from Germany. I think so ill have to fit the Grill myself.
@@honestreview9019 as long as you make sure you pick up the correct grill for your year model, it shouldn't be too difficult. This one was made for the face-lift after my model, so hence why we had so many issues!
@@honestreview9019 Sadly i live in Switzerland and i have similar car which I modified and swap some things from the AMG which would probably be easier to make your car to look like and AMG.

Sure! Pretty much all you need is:
10mm Socket w/extension
8mm socket
T27 Bit
Flat Head Screwdriver
Needle Nose Pliers

Use thin coats, make sure it's paint not enamel, and you'll be fine! We've done this on many cars, personal and customer's with zero issues 🤙🏼

I have a gla x156 it’s not amg. Do I need to remove the front bumper to install the grill?
The bumpers are mounted the same, so yes it will need to come off to remove the grill based on what I've seen personally 👍🏼

If you make totally sure you purchase the correct one for your year/model the installation is much more straightforward!
