Tight Neck, Do This!

  • Let's face it: humans are not engineered to be on the computer or a smart device all day. The modern human suffers from a forward head posture, rounded shoulders, and a tight mid back locked into flexion (forward posture), leading to neck tension, headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain and mobility issues, difficulty breathing, and tightness in the upper back. The list goes on.
    The towel traction stretch is a great way to release tension in the neck. It uses a contract/relax sequence. Isometric contraction, about 10-20 % effort into the towel, followed by a gentle 10-second stretch. Repeat 4-6 times per side. Do these as often as you like.
