Go and play Star ocean 2 ,3 that combat system is the best, it looks like they are copying the battle system from star ocean which I don't mind if it was local play co-op. Star ocean 4 has the best battle system and style of character movement but lacks in storyline severely then star ocean 5 another crap installement what a shame 3 was the last best one and 2 has the best storyline of it all, Tales games has never been better than the classic star ocean 2 amazing storyline best battle system, if only they would remake it in 3D.

Dude, this needs infinite upvote until it happens. The physical copies of the Tales games on PS3 are out of print and the PS3 store is living on borrowed time. Pretty soon Bandai Namco will stop selling them altogether. We need those games preserved on a platform that will never go out of production like the PC.
You misspelled backwards. This game is a pretty big step backwards. No co-op, no aerial artes, no direction input for artes, no ending battle skits, no overworld map, big zones with it being largely empty, terrible draw distance, terrible pop in issues. Sure if we ignore some of the graphical issues it does look nice at 60fps. Buyt thats all this game really has going for it. This is a shell of a tales much like ffxiii was a shell of a final fantasy.

Co-Op being gone sucks for a few people but doesn't affect 95+% of Tales fans, it does have aerial artes (just as many as ground artes), they're called victory poses, the original directional input has been gone for a long time, a world-map / overworld map even longer, the draw distance is 5 times better than it ever has been (like, do you even know what draw distance is?). I will give you the pop-in issues but those could easily be fixed in the final version. False information, wrong terminology and hyperboles. You don't sound like as big of a fan as you claim to be.

Type of videos that i adore! I love that Tales started doing these more often and focused! Also making us know the ppl behind the scene more! Love their passion about their work and it shows by the fine details! I didn't know Kagawa before this! He's a battle programmer on Graces & Berseria! Now he's the director and from what i seen he did a phenomenal job! As for Iwamato san i expected nothing less! Attention to detail and these arts are so beautiful! The facial expressions are so so good! You can feel the characters emotions! Art style is gorgeous & as he said what makes tales characters special is not just their fighting style only but also how they express themselves , in idle pose etc. And both Shionne & Kisara looks so beautiful 😭❤ i seriously cannot wait for this game!!!

It literally refers to air combat where you can score a 100+ hit combo without ever touching the ground by mixing every arte along side basic attacks. Berseria did not feel like any of the other tales of games that came before it. But it held on to a lot of other tales mechanics so it barely made it. But Arise looks to ditch nearly everything.

Arise literally has artes that you can use mid-air, we've seen it and aerial artes have been confirmed repeatedly. Also, you don't know anything about combo-potential. Show me an official video of one of the older games with 100+ hit combos. You won't be able to because they've always shown only the basic stuff - it has always been the community who pushed the battle systems to its limits. I mean, even in the demo we've already seen people who aren't all that good at the game doing 50+ hit combos.

You're not talking about Co-Op, are you? Because this definitely isn't something "many" Tales fans are using. In fact, the vast majority has never even touched it, especially in Japan.
It's an interesting feature as it changes how it fits into a lot of peoples' schedules if they actually use multiplayer. I think more people used it than everyone thought prior to this game coming around, but was seen as an obscure detail before that. Arise is a one-off however, so I wonder if the developers will go in on having MP be a major part of the next one. I'd like to finally see online co-op.
@@judelarive1131 Because literally every party member fullfils a role that will be crucial in battles... like Law being able to break the armor of armored enemies or Rinwell being able to interrupt the enemy from casting spells and steal them.
For the next hero game if there is multi player, two players shoulbe being able to do (courte échelle en français), and if you have power and no gear or power you should use your power to substitute the lack of gear or weapon if it is possible, like this you have more option For the next dragon ball online with all the class there will have you should do this and all class like bounty hunter etc...
Stoked for the game but the subtitles for this vid are appalling. The font is too small, the sentences are too long and there's no drop box behind em. Subs are for utiility, not cosmetics. Come on Namco

Seems like the Linear Motion Battle System did not make the successful jump to Unreal Engine 4. I'm still probably gonna chuck my dosh at the PC version for what its worth

Agreed. My second favorite series is Trails: Heroes of the Sky, Azure, Cold Steel. Its set in a single, massive world and is amazing.

Type of videos that i adore! I love that Tales started doing these more often and focused! Also making us know the ppl behind the scene more! Love their passion about their work and it shows by the fine details! I didn't know Kagawa before this! He's a battle programmer on Graces & Berseria! Now he's the director and from what i seen he did a phenomenal job! As for Iwamato san i expected nothing less! Attention to detail and these arts are so beautiful! The facial expressions are so so good! You can feel the characters emotions! Art style is gorgeous & as he said what makes tales characters special is not just their fighting style only but also how they express themselves , in idle pose etc. And both Shionne & Kisara looks so beautiful 😭❤ i seriously cannot wait for this game!!!

Seeing Tales of Symphonia there for a brief moment made me get a little nostalgic. I have high hopes for Arise, I've always liked the Tales series!
i don't. I thought it was an insult to be showing that montage of older tales games as this game just shits on the entire franchise. Inheritance and evolution? There is no inheritance and there is no evolution. They removed or changed nearly everything that made tales tales. This is nothing like a tales game at all.

@@appetizingly No. For a tales of game this looks to be a dumpster fire. If it didn't have the tales moniker it looks to be at least a decent jrpg with some performance issues. But as a tales game with so much of the features removed that made tales of tales of, this is a dumpster fire in that regard.
Much like ffxiii and ffxv where dumpster fires for the final fantasy brand. If you don't consider them final fantasies then they are passable games with issues. Same as star ocean last hope and faith and faithlessness (what ever that latest game was called). Poor excuses for star ocean franchise but passable jrpg with issues.
And thats how Arise looks too me. A poor excuse for a tales of but a possible passable jrpg if it wasn't a tales of game.
I have standards and expectations i have for every game that bares a title of a franchise i love. And it look like you don't. Its just enough if any game carries it and then you will fanboy it. Go right ahead. Meanwhile i will be a true fan and voice my displeasure in hopes that the next game in the series wouldn't be this disrespectful to the franchise.

This isn't a love letter to fans though. In fact this is the exact opposite. Its basically telling long time fans to go fuck off. It clear they just want new players only and care nothing for long term fans. The battle system is nothing like a tales game in any way shape or form. They cut out so much that made tales tales. This game is a tales in name only sadly.

They removed victory poses and Co-Op, stop acting like they removed or changed everything that defines the series.
@@appetizingly Cause theres nothing that reminds me of it. No lmbs, no aerial artes, no coop, no directional input to change the artes.
And just to be clear aerial artes does not refer to artes that launches you in the air. If you played xillia or any team symphonia tales title you know that aerial artes refer to using any and all artes in the air. It literally refers to air combat where you can score a 100+ hit combo without ever touching the ground by mixing every arte along side basic attacks.
Berseria did not feel like any of the other tales of games that came before it. But it held on to a lot of other tales mechanics so it barely made it. But Arise looks to ditch nearly everything.
@@densetsu4286 You having your own weird definition of aerial artes doesn't change the official definition. Arise literally has artes that you can use mid-air, we've seen it and aerial artes have been confirmed repeatedly.
Also, you don't know anything about combo-potential. Show me an official video of one of the older games with 100+ hit combos. You won't be able to because they've always shown only the basic stuff - it has always been the community who pushed the battle systems to its limits.
I mean, even in the demo we've already seen people who aren't all that good at the game doing 50+ hit combos.
@@appetizingly nope. Cause that's what Aerial artes used to be. Air combat. Not one or two artes meant for the air but all artes being used in the air. That's how it was for many titles until team destiny took over with graces f and followed through with that same thinking once the teams were removed. This game looks to have the same potential as graces f air combat. Literally none. You drop like a rock once a arte lifts you in the air.
I remember it used to take some skill to get high combos. Now it just gives them away. Again this doesn't make me happy. Thanks for giving me more depressing news.

It won’t, instead, you just get to hear post battle banter as you traverse the world. Far from what we’ve come to enjoy.

It’s not, it’s completely different. We don’t get hilarious scenes along with those sequences, or even moments like Alvin and Leia’s secret handshake. They may as well just be lesser skits.

Wanting to make a game that can be enjoyed by everybody, but yet removing a huge staple feature that many fans enjoy utilizing, thus reducing enjoyment for the game.
You're not talking about Co-Op, are you? Because this definitely isn't something "many" Tales fans are using. In fact, the vast majority has never even touched it, especially in Japan.

It's an interesting feature as it changes how it fits into a lot of peoples' schedules if they actually use multiplayer. I think more people used it than everyone thought prior to this game coming around, but was seen as an obscure detail before that. Arise is a one-off however, so I wonder if the developers will go in on having MP be a major part of the next one. I'd like to finally see online co-op.

For the next hero game if there is multi player, two players shoulbe being able to do (courte échelle en français), and if you have power and no gear or power you should use your power to substitute the lack of gear or weapon if it is possible, like this you have more option
