    Just a note. These aren't available yet, but any day now. Supposedly there were some shipping issues to their local distributors, and that's caused a small delay. The last time I talked to them, they were expecting it to go live around the 25-27th. So keep an eye out, and remember code " relativetime " for 10% off.

    Black Friday sale $230 on their site !! Reminds me of the green Seiko Recraft a bit, which I sold because it was a bit too big for a dressy/daily wear at 43mm. Now I finally have a green dial back in my rotation.

    Nice! Personally I love "the Kraken" and overall the style/trade-dress of Phoibos watches is great. Interesting design, and I bet it's stunning in blue. You can't go wrong with the 9015 especially for the price.

  • @gentensworld
    @gentensworld 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Man, I'm living for the colourway (in concept) and sandwich dial. The specs are beautiful, the price isn't eyewatering, etc. Yet initially for some reason, this is the first ever Phoibos I've ever been "on the fence" with. Perhaps it's the introductory green you've shown us not being "damn near radioactive" that just doesn't do it for me. (Though as an edit, the blue and gold REALLY looks superb). Regardless, awesome video as always mate!

    Just ordered the same colour. Love the logo everywhere but the dial. If it's as good as my Relio Solstice I will be impressed. Regards the lume the lighter indices will give you more, alternatively the old radium gives a better visual experience 95 percent of the time. It's good they gave an option. As usual, great review

    At first I thought it was kind of odd looking until I saw it on your wrist, Shane. It reminds me of a mood ring. (The mood watch) You get different colors when you look at it from different angles. I think it's a pretty watch and I don't like the bronze, copper or gold colors on watches too much. This one caught my eye especially with the different straps you've shown it with. I love the teal color hidden in that green and I like the lume as well. I like the taupe color of the markers and the thin profile. I won't buy one but I'll admire and appreciate it for sure. Thx, Shane.

    I own Phoibos' Eagle Ray and so was very interested in this new Nebula sport watch, but after seeing the new Micro brand Pacific Explorer by Coast Watches, I pulled the trigger for their 39mm copper color way-fixed bezel. Albeit nearly twice the price of the Nebula, the Coast brand really hits that vintage "Explorer" vibe I was hunting for, with lots of room for their unique design too. I love the sandwich dial on both the Nebula and the Coast watches, and the fact that both are going with something other than the NH35 ... but I'm inclined to favor the swiss movements and am happy to pay a bit more for them. Good first look here though, thanks.

    Might get this with the green and gild. I’m sure the green with white indices will get better lume but can’t pass how good it looks with the green and gild.

    I recently bought a Laco with the Laco 21 movement. The first one had problems with the movement, so the dealer sent a replacement. Two hours with that one and the watch exhibits the same problems as the original, only worse. So I'm considering replacing it with a different brand. I came across the Phoibos Nebula and am quite impressed. In addition, I have two other watches with the Miyota 9015 movement and both are among the most accurate watches I own am have given me no problems. The biggest decision is Old Radium vs White indices. I lean towards the Old Radium with the green dial.

    Great review! I just received the brown dial version and love it! I think the fadium clashes with the small white lune dots, so design-wise I prefer the white indices versions. It would have been a better choice to go with all yellow lume on the fadium versions. PS- I love the Phoibos logo.

    I'm not normally a fan of green dials. I usually prefer black or grey, maybe the occasional dark red, but this green is interesting and I like how the yellow works with it. I may have to think about this one, but I know if I wear it my friends will want to check if I'm a pod person.

    Pronunciation "foybos" (like boy). The naam refers to the classic Greek god Apollo. About around 400-410 BC Greek poets usually called him "Phoibos Apollo", as he was considered the god of the sun. This name also refers to his grandmother Phoibe, which means "prophet", able to predict the future.

    • @RelativeTime
      @RelativeTime  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A couple things on the pronunciation. Although this is also an interesting note on how things are constantly updated on the internet.
      When in doubt I always turn to Google translate to give me an idea how to pronounce something. Back when I did the first few Phoibos videos translates auto-detect system didn't know what language it was (I assume it's also misspelled for the proper greek), and when I asked it to pronounce it pronounced it as "Phe-Bus". Which also allied to what other reviewers at the time were referring to it as ( JOMW and 24 Hours at a Time).
      Now I actually had a similar conversation way back when. But since I'd already used Phe-Bus and that's what other TH-camrs were saying as well, I just rolled with it.
      Although interestingly, it's been a few years since I checked to google translate. When I type it in now, it still auto-detects it as English and pronounces it as "Phe-Bus". Although if I force it to choose Greek it will pronounce it as "Foybos" Which it didn't do at the time.

    wow the indices, hand set and sandwich dial are absolute beauties ... yet i find it a near-miss. the fume dial steals the focus from all these, a subtle matt dial will work better. the jubilee bracelet is too busy, even its a good one. also, 38mm would be a better size for this sort of all-purpose sport watch. lastly, even as a fan of their logo, i’d suggest them to tune it down for this sort of watch - take away the octopus but keep the three stars and the wave lines will become a decent secondary logo😉

    • @mrjasonrowland
      @mrjasonrowland 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They sell out of most models because they typically are good enough to sell out. Especially considering the cost. They have high demand and a loyal fan base. They are a small, two person company that makes watches in small batches that rarely restock once sold out. Why this watch isn’t yet even being previewed on their website page is a mystery. Especially considering the amount reviews now out for this model.
