i just ordered this setup. i understand that you can move the lens ring mount forward or backward to get the no-parallax point. do i also need to turn the mecha right and left? also, where would you put the R1 zenith/nadir adapter? below the mecha or on top (between the mecha and R1)?

There is no need to rotate the MECHA for this purpose.
It is recommended to mount the R1 Zenith / Nadir Adapter on the tripod, below the MECHA.
