The constant four, or here even six tracks, the high speeds and all those long sleek NJT trains must make this the best section of the NEC to get some good busy action! Great video!
That’s crazy. I live about 2 mins walking distance from the exact spot this was filmed. I had no idea people went to train stations just to watch the trains. This is fascinating and very informative.
Seems funny that even though the island platform between inbound local and express tracks is now gone, stairs down to Wood Avenue are still there. I only remember having to use that platform once. Door at sidewalk level was always closed.
It is always nice to see how the ALP-46 drive at the NJT. After all, they originated from the Class 101 of Detschen Bahn AG. Just like the ALP 45 DP. Here in Germany, the first 101 are now being scrapped. The last ALP-46DP are also being built in Kassel. Locomotive 4538 was transported to the Port of Hamburg at the beginning of December and transported to you. Unfortunately, I do not know how long a ship takes for the crossing. Best part about the NEC are the high possibility of triple meets :) I also hope they bring back traditional dining to the crescent and city of New Orleans. Food is an important part of NOLA culture, and Amtrak should attempt to replicate part of that on their trains.
They have to make a reverse move in Philadelphia. They come into Philly from the north and they reverse snd head west to Harrisburg. It is not a straight route if you go via 30th Street Station Philadelphia.
Here is the best hand-held cinematography in the genre, and Tim is a natural born storyteller.

You're a better storyteller than many reporters I've worked with throughout my TV career!

Love the narration . Maybe an optical illusion but some of those NEC Amtrak express trains seem to be going a tad faster than the Acela's .
I like these videos keep em coming. I’ve haven’t been able to go railfanning lately so I’ve been watching these
Awesome video as usual!
I CANT BELIEVE THAT THUMBNAIL!

NOLA?? He’s a pitcher for the Phillies.

Very curious why the Amtrak cab cars are only used on Keystone trains
