Hippias Minor 😊 This your best reading! I’m so glad you are doing so well 😇
Thanks very kindly! And thanks for hanging in there with this project as I'm very slowly plugging away. It will get done!
Thank You 👍
I love your profile picture of Alexander !
Great work as always my friend. Keep it up
I really appreciate your work. It’s fantastic and important. I hope you don’t mind me appearing in the comments from time to time with requests and suggestions.
I know that after Crime and Punishment you still have the 3 large final novels. That work should keep you busy until the end of next year. I know the natural next step is to start working on Tolstoys bibliography. I’m looking forward to that immensely, but may I suggest something a little different ? I’d love for you to do a Let’s Read series on Emile Zola. Particularly the Rougon Maquart cycle. ( The Scientific and Natural History of a family during the French Second Empire ) The reason I suggest a project like that is because the complete audiobook of that 20 novel epic series doesn’t exist. You would be the first to bring that to life. Every book in that series is linked to the next. It’s a giant 19th century literary masterpiece just waiting to be rediscovered. Please consider working on that in the future. Zola was murdered in 1902. I believe he has 3 novels preceding the Rougon Maquart cycle and 6 works after the cycle ended. It took Zola 25 years to complete the Rougon Maquart cycle.
Thank you very much !
Comments and suggestions are always welcome, and I appreciate you sending them my way!
Realistically, though, a 20-novel cycle is likely to be beyond my reach. Should I ever finish the Dostoevsky canon (and that's a big "if," honestly), it would be several years from now. Assuming I'm still in the ring with these activities, I certainly wouldn't mind a significant change of gears, such as one that you suggest--but there's a good chance I'll want to dabble in smaller projects. But we shall see--and it's interesting that no one has touched it!
@@hippiasminor6264 thanks for the feedback ! It's totally understandable. The smaller project route is interesting as well. Theres something charming about 19th century literature. Definitely some heavyweights ! Another idea I wanted to put out there is doing a Lets Read series on obscure 19th century short stories. Bite Sized audio classics is a great channel for Victorian ghost short stories. Im sure you'll think of something great for the next project !
