I honestly love my huion h610 pro, I’ve had it for 3 years and I enjoy it ever since the day I’ve got it. Although I have to say that the tablet had a problem with the cable that loosens up easily. Other than that if you’re in the intermediate level of digital art, this is a great tablet for you! Also I recommend cheaper or less expensive tablets if you can’t afford it or you’re a beginner- remember you don’t need mega expensive tools for making great art so don’t panic!
I have Huion H950 pro, for 80$ and I couldn't agree more. :) If anyone is curious how it works you have two examples on my DA under *poxviridae* username. This is not me promoting my art, just for you to check out what it can do.
I love mine, too! And I agree about the wire. I actually had to replace it a few months ago, but because the port is pretty universal, my mom just gave a cord she wasn’t using anymore to replace it.

Honestly start off with maybe the second one in this video. That was my first one and it's also the same one we used in my college. They're smooth if your not left handed and it's a great starter tablet. The only problem I had was I had to flip mine because it was uncomfortable for my hand so I got used to drawing upside down and had to relearn it after.
The current Wacom Intuos tablets are basically the bamboo line. They're entry level. The Intuos PRO models are the professional line that used to just be called Intuos. It's a bit confusing, but I understand that they wanted to unify their drawing tablet branding a bit more, especially since the Bamboo brand has been increasingly used for iOS and Android device compatible styluses.
Ahh that makes sense! It did remind me of a nicer bamboo more than the Intuos Medium. I'm really glad they added buttons to the entry level line, they make a big difference.
Just so you know that the intous will serve you as good as the "pro line" without only one feature that is tilt. And not a lot of people actually need tilt. Yes the "pro line" has 5k lpi and 8k pressure levels but that is overkill and you won't need that much as 4000 pressure levels = 4000 sizes of brush and even in 4k the difference is minimal and same with lpi.
@@thekeyboardslayer4827 The standard intuos line also lacks an eraser on the stylus, and that can be a big change in workflow for someone who's used to that feature, so it's understandably a deal-breaker for some. Tilt is a very niche feature, though, so I agree with you there!
me: I really should get a drawing tablet with a screen... I can't draw with my finger anymore... "this one costs 800 dollars, which is cheap for a screen tablet" me: ...or maybe I just need a stylus
XP Pen makes really good display tablets. Their cheapest one the Artist 12 is $250 but you can find it on sale for only $200. It was my first display tablet and it was amazing!
icurrently use an xp pen artist 12 and id reccomend spending an extra 50 dollars on the pro. i bought it a few months after it was launched (novmeber 2018) so maybe thats why this is a problem but the screen is way too saturated. i tried fixing it in my hp graphics settings but its still terrible. the pro probably doesnt have that problem and its only a bit more expensive so its the better choice
Hello lav! You have been a huge inspiration for me for the past 2 weeks every since I watched the (find your art style) vid and you were one of the only ones who helped me find it after 1 whole year! I really love you art videos reviews, tutorials and dos and donts. Now that I know my art style I can watch more of your videos to help me maybe even start a channel keep up the good work!
young artist psa: _you don’t need an expensive tablet to make cool art,_ i currently use a wacom intuos draw, and i really think it works well for my purpose and isn’t terribly expensive for me, but especially if you’re a teen artist, you can work with different brands! _remember, your art isn’t limited to the supplies you have, but the skills you possess!_ also, if you’re new to digital art, you might wanna get used to not looking down while you draw!
Very true, im just 15 and I thought that drawing with a wacom intuos was impossible, but I got one a little ago and it was easy. Anyway, your supplies don't need to be the lastest ones or the most expensive to do a good work of art
I'm 8 year old but my bro buy me a wacom bamboo (my first tablet ever) and i was happy because when i use mouse is kinda crocked.... so my bro buy one for me and... i still must learn how to use adobe animate and adobe illustrator and photoshop and i don't learn art at skill schools like art school i was hemeschool for my art school and my teacher was my dad... i'm almost a teen tho i'm 3rd grade when i get expensive ones my dad said "you must learn and be professional first or maybe when you(me) older" and my mom will buy me expensive drawing tools for paper when she had enough money so that is how i got my tablet
@Jacklyn Brown Some drawing tablets allow you to use your fingers 'for gestures' when touch option is switched on, but I don't know if you can draw with that option. However, I think he meant he draws with a 'tablet per-se', smartphone or Ipad. My question is, how the hell can you draw with your finger???
this video is so old but its here in a perfect time! i'm getting my frist tablet later this week and now i know what to look for! (also it helps that you mantion you're left hender because me too!)
Adam DoesThings I agree with the iPad thing, but maybe it’s a thing you could get used to? Also the difference between a pen and using your finger is your lineart won’t be as “clean” if that makes sense, it takes a long time to get used to drawing like that. But yeah, hard times lol Being too young to get a job doesn’t help either but tbh I’m too busy buying other things so a drawing tablet always comes last :”)
Adam DoesThings oh I’m almost 14 too and yeah same for me on that part, I really want to get into a good art school too; Good luck on getting into your art school though^^
i’ve had a wacom intuos for about two years now and i absolutely love it!! granted, the only other tablet i had before it was the wacom bamboo tablet, but I’ve never had any problems with the buttons or pressure sensitivity, so it’s an absolute win in my book

I personally think that those who can't afford to have the devices, like drawing tablets, are the ones who are really talented and passionate.. Not saying those who have don't, bc you do.. But if you don't have anything but you're still drawing and making something out of almost nothing, I think that's amazing.

I even got my joy-con controller to work with it(instead of a ridiculously expensive expresskey remote) using Joystick Mapper for mac. Follow your dreams I guess lol_
800$ is pretty high for a Display tablet and is def not consumer grade hardware. Its true that for professional grade hardware its pretty cheap, but your average person that doesnt make a living with that sort of thing (be it Design/Architecture/Illustration/Animation/CGI/3D Modelling) will be fine with a 50$ tablet (without display) or if you really want a display then a 150-200$ is all you need.

I think the rest of us are talking about something a little more sophisticated. It's sort of the difference between Gouache illustration and finger painting (which is not to talk smack about finger painting). I have heard, however, that the newer Ipads _are_ capable of this function, if you also purchase some kind of iPencil to go with it.
Interesting reviews, though I think it's a shame it's so focused on Wacom products! They do make excellent quality products and are without a doubt, leaders of the drawing tablet market. However, there have been lots of new alternatives that might not be perfect, but offer a pretty good quality at a much lower price, which to me is ideal for beginners/intermediates, or even just hobbyist artists that might want a screen tablet but can't afford to give out that much money! For example, XP Pen and Huion have both been making better products at very reasonable prices (less than 100$ for big 'non-screen' tablets with lots of buttons and even some pretty good screen tablets for 500$ or less !).
LavenderTowne That would be great, if you ever get the time to do it of course! Don't get me wrong, I thought your reviews were good but not everyone can afford Wacom so a video on alternatives could definitely be good! ^^

@@salutationssir1935 start with the norm one, especially if you are a starter because you might get bored and stop animating or doing digital art and might just throw your drawing tab anywhere.
If anyone is curious how it works you have two examples on my DA under *poxviridae* username. This is not me promoting my art, just for you to check out what it can do.
I love mine, too! And I agree about the wire. I actually had to replace it a few months ago, but because the port is pretty universal, my mom just gave a cord she wasn’t using anymore to replace it.
I absolutely adore it too! My favorite part is how long the pen holds a charge, I don't think I've charged it in weeks lol
Kek i draw with it like at least 6 hours a week and i have never had to charge it, Is that just me?

@@CaseyCorrupted You can map the eraser onto one of the two buttons on a stylus

There are some good screen tablets for 200$.
XP Pen makes really good display tablets. Their cheapest one the Artist 12 is $250 but you can find it on sale for only $200. It was my first display tablet and it was amazing!
icurrently use an xp pen artist 12 and id reccomend spending an extra 50 dollars on the pro. i bought it a few months after it was launched (novmeber 2018) so maybe thats why this is a problem but the screen is way too saturated. i tried fixing it in my hp graphics settings but its still terrible. the pro probably doesnt have that problem and its only a bit more expensive so its the better choice
ipads are cheaper if you want something with a screen or a regular tablet like android . whoever made these both have the same name messed up.

I've been using wacom intuos ART for a while and I have no complaints.
young artist psa: _you don’t need an expensive tablet to make cool art,_ i currently use a wacom intuos draw, and i really think it works well for my purpose and isn’t terribly expensive for me, but especially if you’re a teen artist, you can work with different brands! _remember, your art isn’t limited to the supplies you have, but the skills you possess!_ also, if you’re new to digital art, you might wanna get used to not looking down while you draw!

I draw on my phone with my finger tho ;~; #poor
Wacom is the Apple of tablets.
Fucking expensive.
On the other end of the spectrum there are also excellent standalone tablet options from Dell, Microsoft and HP. :)

Youre so smart, i couldnt put on a shoe if the instructions were beamed into my head XD
i use a kindle fire and no pen, since i have thin fingers.
I do that too!
how lol
same 😔
i specifically searched "best budget screen pen tablets 2018"
wtf
i can never afford any of these
Not even a Huion? I was shocked to hear the model she reviewed was only $20. Usually entry-level tablets run you at LEAST $60. Mine was $70 refurbished.
If you are looking for one where it displays it on a build in screen, the average price is $600 or more.
Devjit Paul if it’s screen tablet it’s going to be expensive. The best value is probably the xp-pen artist 12, very worth it
@@yaboitroy4101 I am prepared to pay 500$, the video showed no product of that price range
@@yaboitroy4101 I was expecting huion gt 191 or ugee hk1560

oh look, its my tablet but white.
yeah, this is the tablet I currently use for my speedpaints and drawing projects and I'm fine with it despite the size.
Left a LavenderTowne video for LavenderTowne. How logic
@Shiniestlite well thank you
