This is good, the world of horology could do with more quartz movements in higher end watches. I want the option and it shouldn't always be seen as the cheaper option. I would happily upgrade from a simple mechanical movement to a high accuracy, thermocompensated quartz movement. The only mecaquartz movement I've ever experienced and seen in person is a Seiko. I like it a lot!
I wish miyota would come out with w mechaquartz movement that doesn't use a 24 hour subdial or does something like use w second hour hand tied to that subdial to track two time zones
Incomplete development of Seiko meca-quartz. A 30 minutes chronograph register with a jumping hand would have been preferable. A 12 hours counter on the VK63 instead of the 24 hours indicator. A small second on the VK64 and VK61 instead of the 24 hours indicator. VK67 is almost coherent.
The Seiko Meca-quartz movement you will find in the Timex "Panam" chronograph for a quite moderate price

I love how intricate time piece construction can be - like wizardry. I love wizards.

@kaiwilliams141 We agree, that would be great!
I learned more stuff and I need that JLC,thanks for another great video
@MichaelMitchell-vk9lk You're the best! Thank you for your support.
I have a JLC Mecaquartz from the 1990s. Black face and gorgeous
wait... how different in construction are Seiko mechaquartz movements from the sweeping second Precisionists from Bulova or Citizen?
Informative. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!

The pointless 24 hours dial ruins mecha quartz along with the 60 minutes count which is hard to read. If you want a fashion watch they are ok
is not pointless to time, I think it gives a cool vibe of pointing out what it is left in the day to enjoy
I concur. The 24 hr indicator should instead be replaced by a 12 hour counter.
