What makes Bill Burr such a great comedian is that his own failings are usually the butt of the joke. When he jokes about being scared of Harlem, the comedy isn't about black neighborhoods being scary, it's about his own ignorance making him more scared than he needed to be. He has the ability to tackle difficult subjects because he centers the humor around his own flaws instead of others', and a lot of his best stories wind around to him working on being a better person.
I've probably watched this Bill Burr routine 20 times because I sincerely wanna see every black man's reaction to it... The routine never fails to disappoint because Bill Burr is the Eminem of comedians. The two of them straddling the line of racial/sexual impropriety (and getting away with it) because of the hilarious truth they manage to spit.
I’m at least up to 50 times. I watch as many reactions as I can. This is my favorite but also love “lotion” , “no reason to hit a woman” and “black athletes”. He’s so funny and I want to laugh with everyone else as they discover him. I probably need a hobby. 😬
My car broke one time and i had to start walking to work. Through a rough hood. And i mean the kinda rough that my black friends wont even drive through. But I had the best weapon for protection. On my second day walking through, 3 guys walked over to me and asked if i was lost. You know, in that mildly threatening way. So, i reached into my pocket, and drew my weapon. "Nah, man. I got this blunt and i just don't like smoking solo." I didnt make it into work that day. But i did fix my new friend's mom's computer and got stomped in nba jam by his little sister. My favorite quote from The Art of War is "The only way to destroy an enemy completely is to make them your friend." Even after i got my car fixed, i still walked. Still end up skipping days at work more than i should. And one of these days, i swear im gonna beat his little sister. But in fairness, he can't beat her either.
The funniest part of "what's a bodega?" is that "bodega" means "wine cellar" in Spanish, so they're not even a staple of black communities, but rather latino communities.
I'm glad you showed BJ this skit. You asked on your reaction about experiences. I totally relate. Basically same situation. She lived on MLK Blvd., and I was always nervous when I got out of my car. Awesome reaction guys.
12:57 Body language analysis : the jaw line scratch 🤣🤣 It's not coincidence that gesture happened at that moment in the comedy routine 🤣🤣 Happy Holidays Y'all!
This bit reminds me of when I was in middle school and living in a predominantly black apartment complex is St Louis. A black girl my age would come over and play board games with me. One day she wanted to borrow one of my shirts, I had zero idea why, but I liked the girl so I let her wear my favorite one, which was my Skid Row shirt. Then she wanted to go to the little market next door, at night. There were a bunch of older black kids hanging outside the market. I thought I was going to die, not only because I was white, but because she’s clearly wearing my shirt lol ..she said it would be alright, ..well, I put my faith in her like I ain’t never had faith in anything before lol .. of course she was right, nothing happened, but like Bill’s story.. I had an internal crisis and was freaking out lol ..so funny how we fear the unknown lol
I love when you have BJ on your videos. His reactions cracks me up when he hears something that takes him by surprise and Bill Burr seems to get him every time. Great reaction!!!
When I was a kid, my mom got lost in LA and ended up in the inner city at 2 in the morning. She was parked somewhere looking at her map when this guy knocked on her window. He told her she wasn’t supposed to be there and to get the hell out ASAP 😂
You all make it so hard to watch your show, I laugh so hard i pause the show 10 times a minute....luv you guys...keeping it real..you guys need a sitcom
I went to CCNY in the mid '70's when tensions were high. I used to walk down to the Hudson River around 125th Street with my girl who is black and I'm white and we would go fishing with fishing line wrapped around a beer can. We never caught anything, but we always had a good time. It's different now, society is more accepting of a lot of things. I was never scared, and nothing bad ever happened to me in Harlem except I got chased by a stray dog one day LOL.
125 on the 6 train is kinda crazy. I lived in Brooklyn for 25 years and never did go there until the past 3 years. Never seen so many junkies black and white.
Re 5:14 - I must quote the immortal Chris Rock on that one... "Young black men: If you're at a club & someone steps on your foot, _let it slide._ Why spend 20 years in jail because someone smudged your Puma?"
Even 5 pairs of shoes sounds like a lot to me. I've got my work boots, my "good shoes" and my walk in the dirt shoes (which are just my old shoes rotated out).
This is my first video I seen from y'all and BJ, BJ, BJ. No joke his mannerisms and personality from top to bottom is an exact duplicate of one of my best friends Trey. I'm sending him this video.
Bill is so great, truth! I have friends of every color especially from the Caribbean! We laugh our butts off at our differences! Respect! We always say that too each other because it’s truth!☮️❤️
New to the channel. Watched a few reactions to family guy. First time watching a reaction to Bill Burr. Glad you guys take things lightly. And BJ, you seem pretty cool. Keep it up
You two are hilarious... I admire Bill Burr because of his even-keeled take on reality and all the social dynamics at play, as well as his commentary of it. It's entertaining and factual for those who listen. I hope BJ appreciates the great girl and superb taste she shares. Cheers to you both!
Hey y'all ✌ From music to movies, it's been a pleasure watching y'all react! Currently revisiting reactions I've missed. It's been fun watching the earlier reactions before "back like we never left" was a staple of the intro. It's like watching pilot episodes from a long-lasting sitcom... ❤ it! Also, nice seeing the two of you collaborate in the early goings as Asia was by herself in some of the reactions I've watched. Y'all are a GREAT team!
You have to show BJ The gift basket too. Love our girl Asia but it’s always good to have our boy too once in a while in this no music reactions. Best reacting couple in TH-cam.
I can relate a little. White guy that grew up and still lives in the suburbs. There was a time for a couple of weeks I had to drive a coworker home and pick him up in the morning. He lived on Big House Gaines Blvd in Winston Salem, NC. The first time I went there I was like where am I going? I didn't look at anyone at traffic lights. Didn't follow too closely. After a couple of times going there, I was chill about it. This city is much smaller but it's the same thing. You're comfortable up to 7th Street. 8th Street becomes MLK BLVD. You get to 25th and you feel like you're in another world when you have always lived in the suburbs. That said, there are places in the suburbs that sketch me out.
I'm Canadian. My neighbours are black, native, white, middle eastern and we don't really feel the same scares. However. We have heard about things in NY. Chicago. LA...etc.
This is my first time watching you guys, you popped up in my feed cause I love reaction videos I guess. I gotta say you have a beautiful singing voice! Loved the reactions, Ill be popping back for more!
Bill is on it. I'm German/Irish raised for my first ten years in east San Jose CA. Latinos, blacks and Samoans were my friends. Never knew about race problems until we moved to Santa Clara CA at 11 years old. White boys kicked my ass because of my east San Jose accent, mostly "spanglish". A lesson that I have never forgotten or forgiven. I love your channel.
Funny to see BJs reaction this time. 😂 I recommend Arnez J - My Brother Rodney. I've seen Arnez J live several times and always get a good cry and an abs workout from laughing.
Greetings Asia & BJ, Once again, Bill tells the truth..They got shoes and a hat that matches..... And a hat! YES he did go there!!!! Take care you two....
The genius of Bill Burr's comedy regarding race, is not only that he's speaking truth, but surprisingly _as the subjects of his humor see it._ He also sometimes begins a thought with a delivery that can start to sound harsh or mean-spirited, until he completes the reveal and you realize that he is neither. This layering of multiple surprises (that a white guy 'gets it', but not in some arrogant way as if trying to pretend he knows what it's like to be black, or coming off sounding racist about it) makes for great comedy, of a type that few have mastered as well as Bill Burr most definitely has.
You 2 are awesome! I'm laughing so hard at you both relating to what he's saying and being all cool with it. 😅🤣 I take it there's some accurate things he's saying? Lol carry on and stay awesome! 🤣
As a hispanic from Dallas, your comment about Highland Park is spot on lmao. Although that's a more extreme example given that it's ultra wealthy. I would say Plano/Frisco is a more accurate example.
Great reaction, guys. Bill does what the GREAT comedians do, just lay down the truth. And they are a rare breed. And it sounds so easy so trite. But honestly, you would be lucky to put a top ten together of comics who just cut through all the hustle & BS and tell it like it is.
Asia, I doubt you’ll see this but I pray that you do. Nicki Minaj lately (past 5+ shows) on StationHead have been her pulling up people from the audience to sing, rap, etc. PLEASE request to sing in the comments on Nicki’s next StationHead broadcast. PLEASE! You could win like $1000 hunny! She LOVES hearing new fresh voices like yours!
For some reason I just love "Shockingly Caucasian"! I half expected Bill Burr to follow it with "Like if there is a snowstorm, I am freaking INVISIBLE!" or something like that. Great video.
i often think that beauty as a scale from 1-10 goes up to 12 in what i call "celebrity beautiful". this is the level of beauty that normal people just dont obtain. and that is Asia. why dont i ever see women this beautiful in real life?
Just wanna say I love you and Bj, Asia. Yall keep me laughing. And yall are a great couple. Yall keep treating each other right. I can tell BJ is a one of a kind type of Brother. Thanks for keeping my spirits up guys.

Very well said.
Well said.
78, damn1 I think that you're right. good observation of Bill Burr's comedy. bonus video. th-cam.com/video/vyAh9OENJPU/w-d-xo.html
I was gunna comment the exact same, but thanks for phrasing it so got-damn well.
Asia's smile. That is all that needs to be said.
Her voice is amazing
Yes her cackle is one those infectious ones that automatically make you laugh with her
How is Asia's singing for an intro better than most professional singers? She's absolutely amazing.
Word
it's called confidence, you got to be able to let go and you can't do that if you're all tensed up and anxious
“Standing on the corner of Malcolm X and Danny Glover” gets me every time. Absolutely gold!
I've probably watched this Bill Burr routine 20 times because I sincerely wanna see every black man's reaction to it... Idk why, it's always "what's a bodega?" that'll kill me no matter how many times I see it 😂
The funniest part of "what's a bodega?" is that "bodega" means "wine cellar" in Spanish, so they're not even a staple of black communities, but rather latino communities.
@@EnglishLad That may be what they mean literally but here in Philly a store in the hood is called a bodega.
I live in Washington heights so I can really relate. Every time I get to 125 I remember bill
🏃
Bill Burr never fails to deliver.
This is gonna be hilarious. I am gonna go ahead and say great reaction because it's never anything less. Asia and BJ you guys are the best.
I'm glad you showed BJ this skit. You asked on your reaction about experiences. I totally relate. Basically same situation. She lived on MLK Blvd., and I was always nervous when I got out of my car. Awesome reaction guys.
I love how he's like, "3am?? This sounds like a setup. Bill don't do it." lmao

Love when you and BJ react together. You guys bring out the best in each other. Keep going and God Bless! 🤣🤩
When I was a kid, my mom got lost in LA and ended up in the inner city at 2 in the morning. She was parked somewhere looking at her map when this guy knocked on her window. He told her she wasn’t supposed to be there and to get the hell out ASAP 😂
He said, that's like going to Highland Park and I'm thinking oh snap, is she in Dallas? Then I saw the Forney PO BOX. That's awesome!
Burr- he never disappoints… and he’s honest. Love the reactions from this guy with BJ ❤️
You guys are great! Bill is unreal and can relate to everyone.
You all make it so hard to watch your show, I laugh so hard i pause the show 10 times a minute....luv you guys...keeping it real..you guys need a sitcom

You guys are a brilliant couple. So much chemistry. Absolutely charming. Cheers
My 4th time watching this reaction. Still funny! Thanks

Bill Burr, America's number one best story teller, all parts, all voices, all real. He draws the you in and makes you part of the experience!

My mom's white, my dad's black, came out grey as sh*t! Let me tell ya, Bill Burr is the GREATEST ambassador for all grey people out there! Cheers!💪
Bill is on it. I'm German/Irish raised for my first ten years in east San Jose CA. Latinos, blacks and Samoans were my friends. Funny to see BJs reaction this time. 😂 I recommend Arnez J - My Brother Rodney. I've seen Arnez J live several times and always get a good cry and an abs workout from laughing.
I laughed because 125th Street is called Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. 🤣👍
Thanks, y'all! 🎖️
I love this bit by Bill, but y'all made it funnier. I grew up in a diverse hood that a lot of people were afraid to visit. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You guys had me cracking up!! 🤣🤣❤❤
I love Bill and I love your reactions to him. Best I've seen so far
You guys are awesome. Love the reaction. Keep it up!
Bill Burr is awesome! He's actually married to that girl from this story now and has been for quite some time.
As a hispanic from Dallas, your comment about Highland Park is spot on lmao. Although that's a more extreme example given that it's ultra wealthy. I would say Plano/Frisco is a more accurate example.
Yo, I love you guys. Reactions are the best!
Watched a couple guys who used to live in Harlem do this stand up, and one of them was like I've gone almost a month without seeing a white dude lolol
Great reaction, guys. Bill does what the GREAT comedians do, just lay down the truth. And they are a rare breed. And it sounds so easy so trite. But honestly, you would be lucky to put a top ten together of comics who just cut through all the hustle & BS and tell it like it is.

'Malcom X and Danny Glover' - classic. LMFAO!
