idk if you've already played them and didn't like them enough to put them on this list, but if you have not - just try dark souls 1 (if you don't mind the clunkiness of a 12 year old game like me) or elden ring (if you do not want to bother with dated mechanics). Fromsoft games are one of the reasons I'm even alive - and ik how pathetic it sounds to be "saved by a stupid video game" - but the experience i went through playing dark souls 1 through 3 - I just wish everyone can have that and it fills me with joy when they do.
Every time I encounter anyone who knows and appreciates SOMA, I feel a surge of toxic nostalgia and agony that stops me dead in my tracks. One of a kind game.
Not sure how you came to that conclusion. BotW is about player freedom and making your own adventure with gameplay that allows you to be creative. Yakuza is all about tutorials, minigames and story cutscenes that drone on forever. Sure they are both Japanese and open world but in terms of pacing they are vastly different experiences. Just watch the first ten hours of either games and see how Yakuza games take control of the pacing constantly.
Great list although I've only played half of them, here's my top 10: The Witcher 3 (overall masterpiece) Red dead redemption 2 (overall masterpiece) Days Gone (totally unexpected gem) God of War 4 (beautiful hack and slash) Zelda: the ocarina of time (my first RPG) Fable 2 (my second RPG) ES: Skyrim (game literally saved my life) Pokemon Crystal (favourite GB game) Elden Ring (great game) The last of us (only game to bring a tear to my eye)
@@thebrognator3524 if a game title "hurts your soul" you've got bigger problems than someone's personal game preferences 🤷🏻♂️ IMO I had low expectations for DG and was pleasantly surprised. But by all means provide me your top 10...
SSX Tricky was such a great and fun game, I have fond memories of playing it with my mate as a kid. On a side note, nothing hits the nostalgia more than listening to To Zanarkand. The story of FFX is so good and completely bolstered by the soundtrack.
They put some real thought into the best way to force you to constantly be in the fight and use all your weapons and equipment in Doom Eternal. Its one of the few games where I wanted to beat it on its hardest difficulty because it was just so fun and rewarding. Fantastic game, along with many others from this list!
nice to see FFX make some best-ever lists. I think games (and media generally) you are exposed to in your early teens will be some of the most impactful, but even taking off the rose-tinted glasses FFX still stands up as a best-in-class game.
Surprised not to see Elden Ring make your list. It seems I've played and enjoyed a lot of the same games as you. And in recent years, Hollow Knight and Elden Ring was the only two games that really managed to capture that "magic" I felt playing video games as a little kid
Love disgaea, great choice! Persona 5 has a shout for top JRPG but I don't think I could ever look past FF7 (10 is also fantastic). Witcher 3, fallout 3, skyrim and a number of the pokemon games for nostalgic reason.
I’m not a gamer I do not know any of these games apart from super Mario brothers and your reference to Metroid Yet I found your description and the gaming vocabulary quite interesting Thx for that Cheers
so so so many of these games are my favorites aswell. I have one recommendation that I know if your like me (which I think you are by these selections) Celeste. The game is my single favorite platformer it starts out not super hard or anything but the final levels are incredible the way they require something akin to puzzel solving and intense high speed precisions platforming.
YES! SLAY THE SPIRE IS PEAK! NOTHING COMES CLOSE!! Tried every single other rogue card games and they get boring after 10 hours. STS never gets boring.
My take on persona is if you want weight with yer story go for 3 and if u wanna have a good laugh and love the characters go for 4 and if u want optimized gameplay go for 5. I personally prefer 3's story and I like my coffee bitter lmao. Oh and after finishing the video I'd definitely try out "Hades" for a good story and "bloodstained ritual of the night" if you like metroid/castlevania games. As for disgaea I'd recommend 5 as on the surface it seems complicated but in fact it's the most newbie friendly from the series due to all the quality of life fixes.
My favourite game of all time is DOOM - the original one and it’s sequel. Mainly because the community still create incredible content for it. If you’re interested, go and play Sunlust (a wad / mod for DOOM II). Or watch a play through of the levels - Decino is a great place to start on youtube for play throughs. Each level in Sunlust is like a highly tuned combat puzzle.
Hey Clarence, Neon White is a game extremely similar to Verlet Swing. Its influeced by the speedrun community and you replay the short levels to find different routes
Love Slay the Spire, great game that's simple to get in but hard to master. And the rng makes it replayable for a long time. Also have you played Bloodstained ritual? That was one of my favorites of the Metroidvania genre.
I recommend the Xenoblade Chronicles series that are on Switch if you like games with good stories. Combat is confusing at first, but once you get it it'll click.
Yoooo dude I literally started playing ridge racer again last night bc of nostalgia and it really is one of the greatest drifting games ever! What a coincidence haha

soma and nier dont hold a candle to pathologic 2 in terms of story. i recommend you check it out, play anything but the ps4 port.

love SOMA. one of my favorite games of all time. clearly clarence is a man of culture
You strike me as a fella that would really enjoy Yakuza since you like Breath of the Wild - I highly recommend it.

Awesome list! Recently I played both Ori games, and they EASILY became some of my favorite games of all time. 😄

You have great taste. Pleasantly shocked with the KH number 1 pick
Didn't know clarence had such a based take on games
vegans can't be based 💀
Yes the soundtrack of Nier:Automata is insane!! Even in the gym 🤣
I'm happy to see a mega64 reference in here, the kingdom hearts video is a classic
Cmon Clarenence, the early seasons of The Walking Dead we’re good 😢
Jesus Clarence that's a hell of a wee list.
My fav games of all time have to include Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Witcher 3 and Super Castlevania 4

Oh man, Neon white was the only thing that I've played this year. Such a treat to get that rush going.
Clarence0 have you ever played "Inside"? I think you would love it!
Walking dead season one made me cry like a bitch....
Much better and diverse list than most Gaming youtubers.
needed this video
look into burnout takedown and burnout paradise for racing games. they do your "regular sport taken over the top" and are tons of fun.
also glad to see clarence is a c*nnychad

I'm curious what you think of Zone of the Enders and its sequel, the 2nd Runner.
I share the same opinion about SOMA and Hollow Knight, now I want to try Ender Lilies.
YES! SLAY THE SPIRE IS PEAK! NOTHING COMES CLOSE!!

Irish people always got the most distinguished taste in games, only rivalled by Australians. Great video, mate, and an even better overhead.

Terraria
Minecraft
Metal Gear Rising Revengeance
Yoooo dude I literally started playing ridge racer again last night bc of nostalgia and it really is one of the greatest drifting games ever! What a coincidence haha
Why does Clarence being a fellow Disgaea fan not surprise me at all. Ofc somebody who spends his life grinding for PRs would enjoy grinding for stats.
I really like your list!
Lol, Final Fantasy X has awesome voice acting
you owe it to yourself to try out inscryption, based on a lot of the indie titles on your list, it'd def make it's way in there.
Beginning is cool, after that it becomes a bit dull imo
People love hating on KH but I’m glad a fellow scholar and gentleman also understands the high art of its story (I am 12)
If you like Slay the Spire, I'd recommend Dicey Dungeons and Banners of Ruin!
Why does no one in the comments care that the opening clip is 197.5kg?
Holy shit... And it also seems not so old, maybe 2-3 years.
Disgaea is an underappreciated and amazing game. 2 was always my favorite.
SSX Tricky was great! Moby was my character. NBA street was a similar fun game. Also played Sninmegami Tensei (Persona), Disgaea and FFX
Man I miss games like ssx tricky + tony hawk's underground 2, good times
Pretty good list Breh. I would say that Ender Lilies does not get enough love.
So if I play Soma I get +40kg on my CJ? 👌
Clarence you need to Elden Ring it up it will instantly become your all time favourite game
Ssx tricky loved that game when I was younger
Great list! I seem to have similar taste as I played q1uite a bunch of them. So this is a gem to check out a few different titles.

more vids like this will be good
When was overwatch good? I been playing it the last 3 years.
Disgaea was one of my favorite games as a kid, I swear I think I was like 9 or something and it was way too hard
Also consider checking out Eternal poison
Would you rather have unlimited bacon but no games or unlimited games but no games?
Gameplay videos would cool, watching you play spire would be nice.
