Pangobooks is so great! I run a shop with my high school students and we’ve made $2,700 and sold 1,261 books in the past 11 months! It’s been such a great learning experience for my students and has been so fun!
So glad your Pango experience is positive. One of my Pango purchases came wrapped in a piece of Christmas wrapping paper! It protected the book (and probably the seller is like me and has a number of extra rolls since the family moved to gift bags). I hope your Pango selling continues to be easy and fun!
I just started selling books on Pango this month and it’s going very well! Already made $100 and I’m really shocked because wasn’t expecting that. But I did sell some out of print indie books so that’s why I made so much. I’m selling my entire addicted Calloway series for example and I sold of one the bridge kingdom indie hardcovers.
My only complaint is there is no option to sell via your desktop vs a phone app. I have an older phone, don't like the modern trend of having to use an app for everything. It sounds a lot like Mercari for books otherwise.
If you aren’t doing enough volume to justify purchasing a thermal label printer yet, you can order adhesive sheets for laser or ink jet printers so you don’t have to tape them on your packages.
Pango is so easy! I find it really helpful even if I don't have more to list to drop the price by like .50 for older listed books because it puts you up in the feed and gets visiters. I love to buy graphic novels and manga there too (sometimes with the profit lol)
I have been using Pango for a few months now too and it's SOOO much simpler than trying to take books to the store for credit. It was really informative to see how you pack a shipment. Thanks for sharing, Bethany!
I tried out Pango books after your last video and I've had a great experience buying from people on there. I haven't put any of my books I need to unhaul on the shop yet, but buying has been great. Thank you for going through and answering questions/showing how you package and sell books on there!
New subscriber! Thank you so much for this. I just started listing some of my books to sell on Pango and I have to say that their app is one of the best I've seen. No sales yet -- maybe do you have tips on how to generate traffic to your storefront?
YES! I email them every couple months begging them to expand to over the border. I have SOOO many books. I have donated lots to various organizations but it would be nice to get SOME coin back. Ive tried listing some on poshmark but people arent really interested in books there as it's more geared towards clothes.
I love how organized and informative this was! Especially seeing you pack an order. What type of printer to do have? Asking bc I'm in the market to buy one!
Great video! I’ve been selling books on eBay but always worry about them getting damaged. Sometimes I wrap them in bubble wrap and put them in a polymailer or bubble mailer. Do you always use boxes?
How can I list books i have but dont want to sell yet, basically just showcase my collection etc, can you do that on this app? I want to try to figure out the whole sellers requirements around taxes and all that before selling but want to grow my profile meanwhile
Ty for the video. I want to sell books. I dont have novels do other type of books sell well? I have cookbooks, christian and craft books. Do vintage books sell well or best to post elsewhere? Agian tu for the video
The Illumicrate special edition of The Red Scholar’s Wake was so cheap because the book is widely disliked 😭 I DNFed it and almost everyone I know who bought it directly from IC has sold it for cheap. It is really beautiful though!
Very helpful video! I went back and watched your original pango video and noticed they ask for a return address. Does this show on the shipping label, just a bit nervous about people knowing exactly where I live since I am a small TH-camr :)
Are the mailing labels only accessible by the app? I don't have a printer so I've been slow to get my shop started. Also, when there are so many sellers, how competitively are you pricing your books?
Currently, PangoBooks is only available in the United States, its Territories and Freely Associated States: Puerto Rico (PR), US Virgin Island (VI), Guam (GU), American Samoa (AS) Northern Mariana Islands (MP), Wake Island Atoll (HI), Federated State of Micronesia (FM), Marshall Islands (MH), and Palau (PW).
You really cannot send correspondence through media mail. Book marks and stickers are okay. Magazines or items with advertisements cannot be sent media mail. USPS will, on occasion, check a package. (A thank you note is correspondence.)
@@TheMartarosethe USPS website and usually whenever you buy a label for media mail (at least on the platforms I've used) they will warn you it has to be actual media
I really want to do this since I've unhauled like 40 books. I just don't understand how to package and ship my books I feel life my post office wont accept boxes. If you have any advice I would be grateful.
Me watching this while I pack an order: 🫢 I've been surprised because packing has actually become my favorite part. I hoard most of my book mail material, so it hasn't been terrible. It's such a relief to unhaul, and Pango makes it pretty straightforward.

That is awesome!
how does that work at tax time?
That’s a great idea! I’m a 8th-grade English teacher! We may do the same!

I don't know why but shipping things is one of my most hated chores so I don't think I could ever do this myself haha but this is really good info!!
Fair enough!

Such a helpful and informative keep. Thank you so much!

It really is! I'm glad this was helpful.
I don't like the store credit model that many used book stores use. They should be willing to pay cash for nice books. Let's hear it for Pango...
I have started collecting books for my shop. Your video was really helpful showing your process.
Who pays for the shipping of the books, I do not understand and I do not see in the app how shipping is charged or paid, only in price and profit
A fellow NYr! Thanks for a useful and concise video. Gave you a follow ❤

Thanks for sharing. Thinking of using Pango Books.
Thanks for sharing this! I am just getting into reading books, and im also a reseller, so im very curious to check it out!
Awesome video. Thanks Bethany!
You're so welcome!
Yup, I’m watching all of this but I’m Canadian 🤣 🤦♀️
Ahh yeah! Maybe they will expand at some point.
Thanks again for sharing all the great tips. I sold my first book this week. CC's BOOK BASKET..

Cries in Canadian. Unfortunately we never have good stuff like this.
Bahaha I hear ya. I’m Canadian too 😢😂
Sorry!!! Hoping they expand.

Thank you! I have a black and white printer from Brother it has been great.

Where can you get the labels ????
How do I connect my paypal to pango books? Do I need to sell something before I can??
Where do you buy packing materials?

They do. I have a P.O. box that I use as my return address.
Ok thanks! I guess other TH-camrs us it and they are fine. I'll think about it :)@@BeautifullyBookishBethany
I look at your page at least once a week to see if there's ever anything I'm interested in 😂😅

This is what I want to know? Do pango book provide you with the labels?

I agree, there is not supposed to be ANYTHING extra in the package with media mail.
Why is this? Where is this info posted?

I didn't know this was a thing.🤷♀️ As if I need another way to buy more books. 😂 Thanks, I guess.

it is your post office's job to accept packages.
I would rarely use boxes for books unless they are large. Padded envelopes or Scotch Flex and Seal rolls do the trick.
Bethany are you interested in Buying my Children’s Book Collection so you can sell on Pango? I am a retired Kindergarten Teacher.
Can you sell new books?
Yes
