Best Friend Forever| Card Story Of 6 Years with Sathya Sai

- “Who is your best friend?”
This is a question that I have been asked ever since I started attending kindergarten. Am sure this would be the experience for many others too. That question came along several others too which arose as corollaries - on how can a best friend hurt me or how could a best friend not understand me to something or even something as ridiculous as how a best friend does not know my likes and dislikes. When I look back at my life today, it has been one long search for a best friend. And this search has often taken me along thorny paths which have bruised my ‘so(u)le’! But it is with great satisfaction that I say,
“I have found my best friend.”
“And pray who is that?”
That is the subject of this video. It is a personal experience that is tied with a 'best friend card' that remained with me for 6 long years before making its way to my best friend in the most special and unlikely circumstances. This is a story that begins somewhere in 2002 and extends all the way till the December of 2008!
Though most would have guessed my best friend's name already, like always, the process of discovery is both entertaining and enlightening.

I thought this episode started off in such a comical way... Aravind thambi's heart is a child's heart. That's why , like paramahamsa Yogananda, who makes fun of himself in the Autobiography of a Yogi, aravind has such an infectious way of seeing and expressing himself from a comical stand point.
But as the episode unfolds, the ultimate truth of human behaviour in the worldly sense... Reveals ITSELF so quietly and subtly , that one feels the shock( that we never considered the possibility that The Lord is playing nandi( the eternal waiting......) Waiting for "HIS" best friend to reciprocate and acknowledge. That delayed shock is v v powerful thambi. The shock of ' OH GOD!!! WHAT HAVE BEEN DOING ALL THIS TIME, running from pillar to post, when my best friend is right within me AND I IGNORED/ DIDNT REALISE/ RECOGNISE ALL THIS TIME!!!!!
Thru aravind's recount of his agony of "non reciprocation or not meeting the "criteria of best friend", one is able to feel Swami's "pain" and patient waiting.

But as We all are spiritual seekers sometimes maya trap us … try to drag on along with your life….
But this juncture really are blessing in disguise to know that Swami is the real friend who can hit all those criteria😢

How should we choose our friends? Bhagawan lovingly explains and underscores today with simple examples.
When you have high status and good position in society, everyone will run after you, saying, hello, hello! But when you lose your position and fall on bad days, everyone will run away from you. This is not true friendship.
What is true friendship? A true friend is one who will follow you like a shadow in times of both pleasure and pain, profit and loss. When the tank is full of water, thousands of frogs will come into it. But when the tank becomes dry, not even a single frog will be seen there.
Similarly, when you have a good position and high rank, everyone will follow you. But you will find none in your times of difficulty. Such friendship is not true friendship.
Don’t make friends with everybody who says hello, hello to you. This is a great mistake. You should know the background, habits, behaviour, discipline, and other qualities of the person with whom you want to make friends. You should also try to know with whom they associate and what type of company they keep.

And because of your this video, I could realise what Message Swami was giving to me from past many years.. I got hurt many times with my so called best friends and everytime I used to question Swami why I can't have one permanent nice best friend, everytime why My ties broke with my so called best friends.. The answer is - Because All these years, HE was trying telling me to make HIM to make Swami my Best Friend.. Sairam uncle. Saisri this side. I've not yet watched the video, but the title struck a chord with me as there was a memory of mine, in which you were also instrumental. I was a few years old when I visited putraparthi and I discovered that I can write letters to Swami. And So I began, writing whatever little I could. I wrote out the entire alphabet script, since I wanted to present my "best work" to swami. I drew an apple, a tree, all that which I could fill it with. I poured my heart into the card. When I was done, I waited patiently in the line. I couldn't give the letter to Swami that day. After Darshan, I was feeling a bit sad, that I couldn't do so, that's when You came along, and my grandfather suggested that I give the letter to you, to give to Swami (I believe you were given the opportunity to be Swami's photographer). I'm not sure if you remember this incident, but I still remember that I gave the letter to you, and you agreed to give it to Swami! Thus you were "instrumental" in one of my first experiences with my Best friend And guru, my dear Swami!

You're extremely blessed to have such blessings brother. Unlike people like me, we had no such experiences, not even close. For too long I've been just listening to others yet don't knw how it's helpful sometimes. And still don't knw what to do with it. I totally get the msg, but what about now., where am I gonna find My Swami for more of these . Ok you had your experiences, what abt me.
Definitely I would still leave everything to listen to experiences abt Swami. But He's not here anymore and no one can tell when He's gonna appear frm somewhere for such experiences. That's not guaranteed. Yes we totally understand all these. So what am I supposed to do.
Honestly, and as a matter or fact, no matter how much I like listening to these, it can get frustrating after some time or when we are seeking for an answer. Yes, one gets the joy of listening abt Him which nothing else could give, but what's after that.
No one can replace our dearest Swami, that's for sure, but I personally feel its time that we start to treat others the way He did, I don't feel that's gonna disappoint Him at all. That's the only way I can feel what My Swami felt.
Not to take it for granted or treat others lightly .
6 hrs of attention..,He wouldn't have demonstrated it in that huge Kulwant Hall, in front of everyone, and made you feel so special, if He didn't feel you could do it too or if He thinks it wasn't important to do so for someone. Where else we gonna find Him if not in ourselves. Instead of seeking for answer, I feel we can be the answer. Jai Sai Ram 🙏
