- According to Mayor Eric Adams, crime declined nearly 24 percent in March, although recent statistics do show that overall arrests are up nearly 53 percent. But for many New Yorkers, whatever the number show, they still fear for their safety. Mayor Adams spoke with FOX 5 NY about the latest crime statistics.

Honestly, I don't notice all these problems, but in Midtown East we don't have a lot of major crime. It's a lot of offices with easy access to GCT so it's mostly commuters and people who want to walk to work. It doesn't attract as much rift-raft as the touristy or poorer neighborhoods. The biggest problem I have is how much more the city smells of weed than a decade ago. At least cigarette smoke is down I guess.

Where are you from? Because anyone who's lived in NYC will tell you that the city was 100x worse 30-40 years ago. If people are scared of 6 felonies a day in a subway that serves 4 million daily and is open 24/7/365, then they need to take Uber or move. New York City life isn't for snowflakes

My family lives in NYC, Brooklyn and some in queens. This is much worse than you think. Many neighborhoods right next to train stations and traffic are now over run by illegal immigrant shelters(you can spot them easily due to the overwhelming amount of litter, trash, cigarettes and illegal mopeds with no license on them just outside the shelter/hotel. Many neighbors that once went thru gentrification has now reverted back to what it once was, over run by criminals, drugs, and prostitution. Crime is at an all time high, the issue is even if criminals are caught, they're released the next day or same day. If you never voted before, now is the time. Do not believe in all this fake news people are telling you. All the money being printed are going towards the top 1%s pockets, ukraine, israel and immigrants. The fact that the Biden and democrats put fourth illegal immigrants over americans is sickening. But republicans aren't great either because as long as they get funding for their pet project, they'll keep their mouth shut.
