Thanks! This is a part of the old Rutland I've never experienced; I was a kid when the Rutland folded. I recall Vermont Railways from my years in Bennington. I went to summer camp in North Hero, VT the summers of '65 and '66. We would walk along what was left of the island line north of Burlington. The tracks had already been removed. Probably you wouldn't find much left of that line in 2023!
@@NorthCountryTrains I also explored what was left of the Corkscrew division, which I discovered after we moved to Bennington in 1962. Three things happened in 1953, the year after I was born. Steam ended, passenger service ended, and the Corkscrew division went into history.

Thank you for sharing and watching! The NY&OG is very Special because it’s essentially the only survivor of the Rutland western expansion.

Norwood is my hometown! The NYOG crossing at Cedar Street is right next to the house I grew up in. Good memories thanks for this!
Glad you enjoyed! More NYOG videos coming as soon as I can make it back out!
Very cool nice seeing the old warrior at work! (Dave).
My parents were friends with a retired telegraph operator from the Rutland, Railroad, and he used Morse code, he retired in 1960.
look's like a nice railroad.. Might have to visit next summer 😉
I will have to visit to
cool compilation! used to live in Theresa/Philadelphia/Lowville... found you through Mark's channel, and hello from Rod Serling's hometown!
Thanks for stopping by! I’ll have more content from the St. Lawrence region coming soon!
Just a heads up, 205 is a GP38. Not a -2.
802 is a GP16 rebuilt from a GP7, not a GP18.
:)
Nice video! Loved that CN hopper.
Thanks. Wasn't there a startup line , St. Lawrence Railroad, back in the early '80's ? What was their history?
That’s correct- Jim Jones covers it in his detailed DVD, I plan on making my own detailed documentary when I have more content.
Where did 312 go? 312 and 205 where the same thing in rutland
205 used to run on Vermont rail
The power is swapped as needed. I have a feeling we will have another swap relatively soon.
@@NorthCountryTrains which one do you think will get swapped??
205 was sent over to the NYOG for good. Still is a Vermont Railway property..
