This band is frickin awesome , i just found out about them . Its ironic , i graduated from ELAC in 1994 .. i hope their still playing , gotta go see them live ..
I just came across them a couple months ago on an Instagram post and they’re amazing! I’ve been downloading a lot of their music! I would love to see them live to one day! Glad to see us, Chicanos out there in the music industry!
Yep, I saw them at 'X's series of shows at the Whiskey in 1980. Also saw them at a few other clubs around the L.A. area and they just kept getting tighter and better. i heard it all fell apart when they got signed by a record company who insisted they convert from a R&R band to a latino/mexican music band. Great time for music back then in/around L.A.
No Internet back then. I was twelve or thirteen years old back then. Seem like there were a billion bands. I was into every genre of music, I would've easily listed this band as my favorites.
DUDE WHAT THE FUCK THIS IS SO GOOD.1980?!?!? NAH THIS SOUNDS LIKE EVERYTHING IN ONE. THIS COULDVE BEEN RELEASED NOW ANS WED BE LIKE HOLY SHIT. IM EXCITED FOR FUCKING MUSIC AGAIN YES. REJUVENATED.
So sick, My friend just turned me on to these guys like 6 months ago and I just got Straight Our of East LA on vinyl today. They slay. I love this early pre-hardcore punk. (I love hardcore punk too, don't get me wrong!)
I remember looking at the EP cover and thinking "Her voice sounds so cute, but... yikes." Later I saw them in person and realized it was just a bad photo, too high contrast or something. Voice and face of an angel.
What the hell ???? This is a bad ass song . Who are they . ??? !!! 1981 ???? Frickin awesome !!!!!!! I gotta see them live . I hope their still playing .
In Under a Big Black Sun the lead singer has an interesting chapter. They did not care to identify overtly as "latinos" -- they just played what they want. They were more influenced by the punk culture as a whole.
maybe because no one would care to ....only latino people would but that wouldve been cool if they did.. I love that they are it makes me like them more
Dang my prima and her band rocking out...way to go The Brat 2019!!

This wasn't pre hardcore. Hardcore had been going on since about 79-80. This was a little later.
When do you think punk started?
Pre hardcover punk lol orale ok
@@randygravel2057 listen to Thee Midnighters and you'll see how long Chicanos been putting punk down!
This is ‘81. Hardcore started with the first Middle Class EP (Out of Vogue) in 1978, so definitely not pre-Hardcore.
Cant get enough of this song/band!
I've loved this band since the first time I heard them in 1980.
I confess I had a huge crush on this chica back in the day. Great band. Broke up way too soon.
Damn i love this band and i love the lead singer 😍

It sounds like from their EP. Which I bought a loooong time ago.
John Mint Not live. Silent footage synced to audio :)
