What do you mean by "out of all of them"? Amongst the 15 events, about 3 are toxic and beside them basically everything elses is fine, like, you have just ordinary dialogue or inocent cute gesture and most of them end up quite positevely. So please, do not make Kokichi some angel by saying "he's the only one who respects Shuichi" cause he's simply not the only one.
I think the bit about Kokichi backing off in HIS fantasy really says a lot about how he truly wants others to have fun alongside him. It seems all the characters (notably those who mistreat Shuichi for their own fantasy) acutely believe that there are no consequences in this dream scenario. Kokichi takes delight in being entertaining through mischief, which might be why all the DICE masks are clown faces.
I believe it was his last line where he expressed concern in the last moments of his life over whether or not he was able to do this: “At least I wasn’t boring, right?”

I think at the end, Kokichi realized that Shuichi was clearly in distress, and he may have gotten embarrassed. But at the same time respected him for not consenting. Which would reason why he randomly ran to the door, and tried playing it off as a joke without breaking character. Apparently, in Japanese, Kokichi has an actual crush on Shuichi.
I mean, it’s canon in both. the English version just got extremely badly mistranslated, for an example. in the Japanese version in chap 4, when shuichi rejects him kokichi refers to him “as the man he fell in love with” also ouma’s Japanese voice actor was told to use a more flirty voice towards shuichi in the game. (in an interview) so yeah, it’s canon that he has romantic interest in both English and Japanese, it’s just fleshed out and addressed more in Japanese.

Ok so I was reading about this and I noticed something. In EVERY sexual scenario that I am aware of, Shuichi has little to no consent in any of them and the other person doesn’t really notice. HOWEVER, in this one, kokichi noticed and backed off. Also, Kokichi is the only one who saw him as a detective as himself during the dream, hinting that he may have a crush on Shuichi. It’s obvious feelings aren’t returned, but a girl can dream
Yes, the best kind of thing to notice on this event is that kokichi actually listened to what shuichi had to say. Let's say it, in other love hotel events, Shuichi was raped (in korekiyo's for exemple)
Kokichi listened to him because even if he doesn't show it, he truly cares about him and understood that doing something like this to him would probably traumatize our poor detective which was the opposite of what he wanted.

If only this was actually applied to the game. After rewatching the game for the second time, there were definitely points where it was kind of obvious that Kokichi was up to something, yet Shuichi didn't even bat an eye to it.
SPOILERS for Chapter 3 and onwards....
A very good example would be why Kokichi went and checked the other dark rooms right after Kiyos seance (I mean no one would have actually thought to do that unless they were already suspicious of Kiyo, right?) I also think that that's why Kokichi sort of lead that trial in a way, with how he questioned Himiko, he already knew the murderer most likely. Oddly enough, he also led the 4th trial in sort of the same way, though more negatively to set his plan into action.
If the Love hotel scenes were actually canon, I like to think that Kokichi's was sort of a warning, telling Shuichi that he is actually up to something without drawing attention to the Killing Games audience.
First off, he is the only character to see Shuichi as a detective.
Secondly, he's been caught because Shuichi's followed all of the clues(Both knowing each other's identities here in the fantasy, as well as it being mentioned that Shuichi has chased Kokichi for a while).
And Thirdly, the fact that Kokichi was also the only student to back off of Shuichi and leave the room himself(I am curious if this means that the other characters actually go into the hotel willingly, or if this was just a strange coincedence with Kokichi). The ending was also fairly abrupt as if Kokichi had snapped back into it. He could have also been fighting with his own fantasies at that point, only to realize that he was making Shuichi uncomfortable. (It's kind of weird that Shuichi seemed to be getting into the fantasy there at the end though)
And now that I think of it the Love hotel kind of seems more sinister if you think of it as mind control put upon the other students, especially with how some of the events seemed very strange for some characters to actually want. I mean mind control through the Flashback Lights was a major plot point in this game specifically. Considering Kokichi's sudden change of "Oh shit, I gotta make a run for the door" right after pushing Shuichi onto the bed and then getting that surprised "..."for a second, I kind of now get that vibe from these events.
ESPECIALLY with the things that Kokichi knew throughout the whole game, I mean the guy was literally studying the murders back in his room, it shouldn't be surprising if he had lock picked his way into Rantaros lab or put two and two together with the Danganronpa case files in Shuichi's lab. Even as far back as Chapter 2( if I remember correctly) Kokichi calls out Tsumugi on her whole acting 'plain' and using 'plain' act, which means that he was studying everyone's habits for sure.
If only Kokichi told someone, or if Shuichi was more confident, the game could have probably ended very much differently. Though unfortunately, Shuichi never does "catch" Kokichi. Not even after his death either.
Though if case 1 turned out the way that it did in the end, whose to say if any of the other cases are actually true too. I mean Kokichi's body was the only body in the ENTIRE series that wasn't actually confirmed, no dna testing from Monokuma or the hydraulic press being lifted. You'd think that there'd at least be some hair under there, or SOMETHING, I mean the guy really is known for being extremely sneaky. He's fooled everyone so far and even going as far as writing "this is not a will" on one of his clues for the last trial. I would not be surprised if this wasn't the last that we saw of him in the Danganronpa series.
Maybe it's HOPE for you all, or just straight up denial. A lot of this was just me trying to piece together just what the hell Kokichi was doing behind the scenes during the whole game.

I also find it interesting that everyone else has a role for Suichi to play but Kokichi’s fantasy has Suichi being himself. He wants to be a bad boy caught by a shy detective
I know right, his fantasy is honestly precious, and also it's kinda hot too when you think about it. Kokichi is strong and highly intelligent, but really he just wants to be the little spoon. Boy just wants to belong to someone.
But while this is cute and all, there's a heartbreakingly sad undertone. Because even in his dreams he can't be with Saihara. Heartbreaking that Kokichi had to repress his feelings and died with everyone hating him. This for me is one of the best and saddest scenes in danganronpa

Even if it's not necessarily friendly interactions, it's still clear that they actually notice each other. -Kokichi seems to pretty obviously have a crush on Shuichi. It's about as blatant as the Nagito crush was. And judging by the LHE, Shuichi is also attracted to Kokichi on some level.

Now that I'm watching this again, it seems more and more like this is indeed Shuichi's fantasy, or at least, Kokichi is the one trying to play the ideal. At the beginning, he starts immediately with some not so innocent comments, and when Shuichi reacts with shock, he changes his approach. The fact that Shuichi also seems to be having trouble with understanding why he's here and what Kokichi and his relationship is supposed to be... Maybe that's part of the repression, or trying to accept what he wants? Kokichi seems to be testing the waters, trying to figure out what Shuichi wants, and when he can't, he leaves, maybe because he doesn't think he can play Shuichi's ideal.
