I think Barbenheimer’s influence is overly exaggerated . Dead Reckoning had 9 days of runway all to itself and every single one of those days it tracked behind Fallout, which couldn’t even reach $800M.
Well Tom Cruise was fuming cause a lot of imax screenings were going to barbiehamer which cost a lot for DR plus 9 days not exactly a lot of time plus the busy month of June with Spider verse The flash Transformers Indy 5 Fast x The little mermaid
@tronam barbenheimer literally took over a big chunk of its screens including all the premiums and yes it had great projections but once barbenheimer hype started it lost because most people won't go see mission impossible when they are seeing 2 other movies the next week. No normal audience is seeing 3 movies in a single month and the movie that got hit is mission impossible because of the barbenheimer trend.
@@sekharraja9679 As they should’ve. I saw Dead Reckoning on the Tuesday *before* Barbenheimer hit and the theater was almost empty. There just wasn’t much hype at all for it, especially in the US. Even with Fallout, the best in the series, less than 30% of the box office was domestic. The reason they’ve never come close to joining the $billion club is that America in particular just doesn’t care that much about Mission Impossible.
I met an old woman from Yugoslavia back in 2010 or so who loves Michael Jackson music. She wouldn't stop talking about him. I'm just saying that to say that MJ has a bigger following than most IP in history.

You're right. It has to at least exceed 650 Million to give a head start to the universe especially that the next movie will be Supergirl who is way less popular than Superman and Batman so she has to be well introduced in Superman to have a chance in the box office in 2026 although I am sure Woman of Tomorrow will be a great movie.

1: Avatar: Fire And Ash 2: Wicked Part 2 3: How To Train Your Dragon 4: Lilo And Stitch 5: Zootopia 2 6: Superman 7: Fantastic Four 8: Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning

So what Im getting from this is that Jonathan Bailey has had an amazing year 2024 and might now actually be in 2 billion dollar movies next year? That man is thriving and we love to see it!
The only films I would bet real money on for making a billion is Avatar 3, Zootopia and the New Jurassic World. I don't think any of the MCU films will hit a billion but I won't be suprised if all 3 actually do hit a billion. Other films that potentially could but I doubt it: Lilo and stitch, Superman, How to Train Your Dragon, and Wicked
You got me there, when you said the top 10 to make $1b I knew Avatar was going to be #1 but when you said Snow White I thought I had the wrong year for Avatar 3 release.
To be honest I don’t think Jurassic is as locked as everyone thinks. The last one had the OG cast plus the new cast and was the big finale… and BARELY hit a billion. This doesn’t have as much going for it and people will be a bit burned from the last film
Agreed. But it's position on the list checks out. The movies below are even less likely to hit a billion. At least with Jurassic World there is a track record that points to it being a possibility.
Yeah I agree plus it’s only been 3 years not like the 14 year gap between JP 3 to JW 1 only thing I can see going for it is Scar Jo not saying she’s 100% a draw but being a marvel star like Pratt.
Great list. What made the video was your assessment on zootopia 2 and the Micheal movie. I don’t think people truly understand how big those movies could potentially be if they deliver. Avatar, I’d bet my life savings it’s hitting a billion. Painfully obvious. But…………if that Superman movie delivers, it could be 1978 all over again.
Wow not even listing How to train Your Dragon in honorable mention is bold, My prediction is the live action How to Train Your Dragon will make 750 mil at the least.
LILO and Stitch will DEFINITELY make a billion. I think this is the only Disney Animated movie that actually deserves a live action remake. Not Tangled, not Moana, not Snow White.
Wicked 2 will have a hard time getting to a billion. The overseas audiences did not connect with this movie, it won’t even make $300 million Internationally the way it’s going. So unless the movie makes $700 million domestically no way it gets to a billion. I would have put this near the bottom of the list.
Stitch definitely will make a billion so many people love him it’s almost like a cult. And as he mentioned kids will want to see it also. So 90s kids plus kids these days will push this film to 1 billion
It's not just somebody else being Captain America. Recognize the reality that a lot of people don't like that a black man is Captain America....Just like what Isiah Bradley said in the show....
Although I agree that the studio motivation behind Superman should simply be to make a good movie that wins critics and moviegoers alike and increases people’s confidence into DC branded films, I don’t think that WB’s executives share the same long term point of view. If it does not meet Man of Steel box office, WB is going to panic, lose confidence in Gunn.
One thing this didn't really go into that could screw over some of the films from reaching a billion is the release days. 1) July is packed by Jurassic World 4, Superman, and Fantastic Four. They're going to cannibalize the shit out of each other. 2) Zootopia 2 and Wicked 2 both coming out around Thanksgiving is also going to have a lot of overlap, and then they have the juggernaut that is Avatar 3 coming up a few weeks later. Doubtful those two get to a billion too.
That's wild. At the end it's a biopic. And i don't think many families and kids will be going to watch a biopic. And neither will it have the rewatchibility of say an Avengers novie
For me, 3 films i think have the highest chance - Lilo and Stitch, Michael, and Avatar 3, with an outsider chance of Karate Kid Legends getting there too. Don't underestimate how popular stitch is. Still need to see more of how the other characters look but very excited for it. Michael explains itself, his nephew looks spot on to play his uncle, and his music is iconic worldwide. Avatar 3 again doesn't need explaining, the highest film of all time, effects are something else, and with how popular the 2nd was despite the huge gap between films shows how popular it is. Karate Kid Legends, although i have my doubts, i think will have the interest because of how popular cobra kai has been. A 40 year franchise still going strong, you got Ralph macchio and Jackie chan together, i think it's got a good shot to get a billion or very near.
You know I never understood why so many people enjoy the Jurassic World movies because I personally can't stand them but after rewatching the first 2 I do understand now. I can see why people particularly kids love those movies. They can be enjoyable at some degree especially if you just watch them solely for entertainment.
It's gonna have weekend of 100+ overall it could get 500m club if it's just have decent word of mouth 700 if it's good 1 billion it's hard due to no star sabstian is biggest actor in entire movie so you can guess
I honestly don’t think JW:rebirth will be a billion dollar film with how each film performed from JW 1.6B JW:FK1.3B JW:D 1B I’ll say 800m to 900m is more realistic.
Hoping Avatar 3 makes over US$2B+ just like Avatar 2🤞 That being said, I'm excited about superman, predator badlands, mission impossible 8, new jurassic world, mortal kombat 2, Mikey 17 and Karsang(Dayahang Rai movie).
This is my list of what I think will be the highest to lowest earners at the box office in 2025. 1. Avatar: Fire And Ash ($2+ billion) 2. Michael ($1.2 billion) 3. F1 ($1.1 billion) 4. Zootopia 2 ($1 billion) 5. Superman ($900 million) 6. Fantastic Four: First Steps ($850 million) 7. Wicked: For Good ($830 million) 8. Lilo and Stitch ($800 million) 9. Jurassic World: Rebirth ($750 million) 10. Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning ($650 million) I think people are underestimating the popularity of Michael Jackson and F1. I think they’re going to be smash hits at the box office. F1 will be similarly to Top Gun Maverick’s performance. Both movies will hit over $1 billion. I’m going to guess that both Superman and Fantastic Four will perform about the same estimating around $800-$900 million. Avatar will definitely hit over $2 billion.
Jurassic World is definitely making over a billion dollars, Superman wont make more than 700 million, Michael film is hard to say, it all depends if its actually really good.
@ I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if Jurassic World gets to over a billion. I just think the franchise has gotten a little stale and I just don’t think Rebirth will be as big as Dominion. Michael Jackson is one of the most famous people to ever walk the Earth, if Bohemian Rhapsody can do $900 million, Michael can certainly do over a billion, think of all the fans that will go see it multiple times. I think it’ll kick off a revival of MJ’s music. The one to look out for is F1. I think it’ll be a surprise smash hit similar to Top Gun Maverick.
No way? That is a long shot of a statement- i both regardless where they land will be closer than people think for sure. They are both people’s top 2 most anticipated comic book movies of the year, I think Superman has a better chance of a billion tho.
Superman gonna struggle especially after how much of a shit show DC and Warner Bros is with business, but it is one of the most recognizable superheroes but you are sleeping on Fantastic 4 and that’s just because they haven’t had their 1st trailer come out yet but I’m thinking they’re waiting for Super Bowl and after the success of D&W, Marvel is in much better situation and was nowhere near in bankruptcy like Warner Bros is rn.
In the fantastic four.. I guess the rumours are that rdj dr. Doom is gonna make an appearance in the end, even though for just a few seconds I think that is going to attract lots of fans.. Therefore I think there is very high chances of it making a billion dollars.
That reminds of black Adam with cavil coming back as superman of course this isn’t exactly the same situation but it does have similar vibes I hope f4 doesn’t rely on an RDJ cameo to bring people to seats.
but it´s the first movie supported by the FIA/F1. And at the moment F1 is very big especially in America and still growing. So there is a hype which really could carry the movie's box office. I also doubt the chances of 1 billion but it really has a good shot to be a hit. Now the quality of the movie and the upcoming marketing campaign have to play their part, First Teaser was good!
I do think The Fantastic Four and Superman are gonna be wildly successful and EVERYWHERE to us movie geeks online, and tons of people will flock to see them, but I don't think they're gonna cross the billy
Sam Wilson is a good Captain America, I understand everyone likes Steve Rogers even the the ladies love Steve Rogers. I would give Sam Wilson a chance to be the leader of the MCU in his own movie.
Wicked 2 is a toss for me. The first act of the musical is way better than the second act. Mainly because it is so rushed. If they are able to flesh out the motivations and clarify when everything is happening, maybe…
I don't think it will make 1 bill aldo and that's because it's not that big internationally and I don't think that somebody who wasn't interested to see the first one, would go to see the second one.Remember, internationally it didn't earn even 250 mill .
I think Avatar will hit a billion but there is an argument against it too. The first one was new, the second one by just being the second movie lost some novelty but that still came out thirteen years later so it had the time away sort of pull. The third one will have a bit less novelty as well as less of a technical leap and is only releasing theee years after the previous installment.
Zootopia is one the best they've ever made on so many levels, the animation is some of the best, the play on how society works and the comedy😊,its just in a league of its own
@@truelies4238 yeah zootopia is my all time fav Disney movie ever I’ve waited for sequel to that for ages And also disagree with him on dogman dogman looks great ITS NOT JUST FOR KIDS
With all the other films we can have the caveat of “if it’s good.” But there’s no sane betting against James Cameron. He only makes great movies. The question for this is whether it will make 2 billion or if it breaks 3 billion.
Absolutely. We don't go see a Jurassic Park/World movie, because the previous one was amazing, we go see A Jurassic Park/Work movie, because it's F*ckin' Jurassic Park/World. & The last movie being trash is irrelevant, we hope the new one is epic. Hell most Jurassic Movies are not amazing. Arguably only 2 of them are. So.... Yeah, the last one being trash, that ain't gonna stop people from going to see this new reboot Jurassic World movie. I LOVE zootopia I can’t wait for the new one this year
Wow not even listing How to train Your Dragon in honorable mention is bold, My prediction is the live action How to Train Your Dragon will make 750 mil at the least.
LILO and Stitch will DEFINITELY make a billion. I think this is the only Disney Animated movie that actually deserves a live action remake. Not Tangled, not Moana, not Snow White.
Ok one of the next trailers or tv spots needs someone to say, "THE PRESIDENT IS HULKING OUT!!!!" or something.
Avatar, Jurassic rebirth, zootopia 2 and lilo & Stich. Those are safe bets.
Surprised that Minecraft isn’t on your list
Some very well considered and thought out pics. I don't see more than 3 films next year actually hitting 1B
Wicked 2 will have a hard time getting to a billion. The overseas audiences did not connect with this movie, it won’t even make $300 million Internationally the way it’s going. So unless the movie makes $700 million domestically no way it gets to a billion. I would have put this near the bottom of the list.
12• _'F1'_ - 0% chance
11○ _'Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning'_ - 10% chance
10• _'Thunderbolts'_ - 0% chance
9• _'Captain America: Brave New World'_ - 10% chance
8• _'Superman'_ - 35% chance
7• _'Fantastic Four: First Steps'_ - 0% chance
6• _'Lilo and Stitch'_ - 40% chance
5• _'Wicked 2'_ - 45% chance
4• _'Zootopia 2'_ - 60% chance
3• _'Jurassic World: Rebirth'_ - 60% chance
2• _'Michael'_ - 90% chance
1• _'Avatar: Fire and Ash'_ - 110% chance
Who disagrees with my _PERFECT_ and _IRONCLAD LIST???_ hahaha
Zootopia 2 - 85%
Stitch definitely will make a billion so many people love him it’s almost like a cult. And as he mentioned kids will want to see it also. So 90s kids plus kids these days will push this film to 1 billion
No way is the f1 movie making more than 500 mil... it looks like an over-dramatized, forced story from the trailers...
Avatar 3 make billion, cap 4, Superman, fantastic four
Cap 4, hell no. Superman 7-800 million MAX. Fantastic four same as Superman tbr
Zootopia is a lock
Michael is going to touch $2billion.
There is no negative reputation of Michael in Asia.
Bro put the thunderbolts above Mission Impossible. SMH already ruined his list
Thunderbolts will open with 35M imo and flop
It's hard to hv B lister being 'listed' in the 1b club
😂😂
It's gonna have weekend of 100+ overall it could get 500m club if it's just have decent word of mouth 700 if it's good 1 billion it's hard due to no star sabstian is biggest actor in entire movie so you can guess
I think it will perform like Solo
Avatar Fire and Ash Will Definitely Be Number 1 Be a Billion dollar Club. Jurassic World Rebirth Will Number 2
I honestly don’t think JW:rebirth will be a billion dollar film with how each film performed from
JW 1.6B
JW:FK1.3B
JW:D 1B
I’ll say 800m to 900m is more realistic.
Does John know how much cap 4 costs?
Ong that shit not even gonna make half its budget 💀
Budget is definitely over 300 million
Hoping Avatar 3 makes over US$2B+ just like Avatar 2🤞 That being said, I'm excited about superman, predator badlands, mission impossible 8, new jurassic world, mortal kombat 2, Mikey 17 and Karsang(Dayahang Rai movie).
This is my list of what I think will be the highest to lowest earners at the box office in 2025.
1. Avatar: Fire And Ash ($2+ billion)
2. Michael ($1.2 billion)
3. F1 ($1.1 billion)
4. Zootopia 2 ($1 billion)
5. Superman ($900 million)
6. Fantastic Four: First Steps ($850 million)
7. Wicked: For Good ($830 million)
8. Lilo and Stitch ($800 million)
9. Jurassic World: Rebirth ($750 million)
10. Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning ($650 million)
I think people are underestimating the popularity of Michael Jackson and F1.
There’s no way fantastic four is making more money than Superman
I would say fantastic four needs to impress more then superman especially with F4 track record on the big screen.
@ I agree!
Stop with these narratives!!! Just because a movie doesn't make a billion dollars doesn't mean it'll be successful.
No F1 movie has ever made more than 400 mil. Soccer is the biggest sport in the world, sports films just don't make good money.
but it´s the first movie supported by the FIA/F1.
He was a good leader in "WHAT IF: SS1 EP1 - Hulk fought with the Mech Avengers"
@@RamonSavage-f8m oh yes he was, I was very impressed of Sam Wilson's leadership
Avatar 3 - Cameron seems to be teasing a different kind of film compared to other two. we’ll see what the reviews say.
i can see F4 hitting 1 Billion. In a new universe with a pretty good cast. Leads straight into Doomsday too and people will be waiting for Dr doom
I totally disagree with you, John fantastic four from 2005 was a great movie.. I thought it was well casted it looked great and it wasn’t a bad film
I disagree with you!... that movie was trash bro haha
Zootopia is one the best they've ever made on so many levels, the animation is some of the best, the play on how society works and the comedy😊,its just in a league of its own
I agree and it’s not overrated
@AutsistcAnimationdan101 far from, honestly his take on shang chi and zootopia got mixed up some how
@@truelies4238 yeah zootopia is my all time fav Disney movie ever I’ve waited for sequel to that for ages
And also disagree with him on dogman dogman looks great ITS NOT JUST FOR KIDS
So your not gnna do a Nosferatu review? It’s legit the best film of the year. I’m sure we all we like to know your opinion also
I didn’t think it was all that great to be honest.
@ fair enough
Nice, a respectful disagreement.
@@johncampea although now that I think about it , you reviewd KRAVEN THE HUNTER, im just trying to understand your wisdom here sir.
I dare say superman will surely make 900 mil to a billion.🤷🏽♂️
it generally could but there are too many hurdles for it to make 900 million
It's making 1 Billion. No doubt about it. I'd shocked too if it doesn't
