I've just returned from Thailand. I don't think you were ripped off. You pay a lot at Starbucks and pomegranate is expensive. I would pay the price for that drink. The past few years have been tough for everyone. I found it's reasonable when buying foods or drinks in Thailand. Just enjoy your trip.
Anything imported into Thailand is expensive. Western fruits are very expensive (especially in the tourist area) you can also, even in chatuchak, have a coke, a Japanese tea at 25b and a bottle of water for 15b If the price is displayed you can consider that it is expensive, but it is not a scam.
Didn't you know before that Chatuchak Market is not divided into distinct zones like department stores such as food, clothes, accessories? But there are products mixed with restaurants or bike shops, which makes it quite difficult to find what you want. It's a market where you walk around and buy things at random. Thai people like this kind of market, although it's not well organized but it's fun to choose products.
Hello, I'm Thai, actually this time is summer in Thailand For tourists, of course. You must be exposed to the weather and the sun is so hot that you will faint,But this time is when the beach is beautiful, And it is the season when many fruits of Thailand will be produced for you to taste,It's definitely a durian from Chanthaburi province,And other summer fruits will gradually follow after this until the end of the Thai summer is June ,Hope you will travel to other provinces and meet Thai people in different places
@@Jason-Travel There are many provinces outside of Bangkok that if you travel, you will surely see a lot of interesting things, Like Chanthaburi, there are many interesting places. But few tourists travel to where there are many beaches Seriously, more than Pattaya, many places waiting for tourists like you to explore and travel in Thailand, have fun with your friends
Bins are rarely find in Bangkok due to terrorism 10 years ago. They planted bomb in many public places, and especially in bins. Therefore shopping centers or big malls, they will use clear bins to see everything inside. The place like this market, they will place the bins only in visible area for safety reason.
2:51 The price is depend on the place, area or type of store. 95 baht is normal for chatuchak. My neighborhood also have 40-90 baht smoothie. (Like a Starbucks coffee is 100+ baht here but amazon cafe is just 50 baht😂)
The price of food&beverage in Thailand depending on the location. If you go to very tourist places like Khaosarn Rd, Jatujak Market, Jordsfair Market, you will pay more cause the rent is so expensive there. I love explore the local market to get more reasonable price Thai food.
exactly, by location ! if you goto the sources of fruits, it`s way cheaper but Thai strawberries are not delicious to me because our strawberries are top notch from Japan!!
Thai Pancake, shaped like a taco, is believed to have existed since the Sukhothai period. Flour that is brown like a pancake, but crispy. The mixture is like a pancake, but with lime water to make it crispy. The creamy white stuffing is made from egg whites and sugar. Or what western food would bake would be meringue. The yellow line that is the stuffing above. Made from egg yolk and sugar, it's called foi thong. As for the green stuffing, is made from coconut, pandan leaves and sugar.
Your vlog about Bangkok's Best Market was simply amazing! You did a fantastic job capturing the energy and excitement of the market, and I was truly shocked by the incredible variety of goods available there. From exotic fruits to traditional Thai handicrafts, the market seemed to have it all. Your enthusiasm for the experience was infectious, and I felt like I was right there with you as you explored the stalls and interacted with the vendors. Thanks for sharing this amazing experience with us!
Bro from the heart of one Thai person who fell in love with you and loves your comedy and friendliness. You are the most positive and funniest vlogger I have ever seen and I really like it.
Apart from food, when you go to such markets, you can always bargain for your stuff. Don't say its too expensive or a rip off before you bargain. At the religious souvenir shop when he said shop's closing, for the 250 baht item, you can actually ask for 150-200 baht. If he said no, walk away. Most likely he'll call you back.... little money earn is better than no money. 😄
Octopuses with spicy sauce are good but too spicy for most foreigners and too spicy for some Thais (including me). The spicy sauce usually taste spicy, sour, a bit of sweet. It is made from blended chili, lime juice, sugar, fish sauce, coriander. School kids there perform for money, they are not beggars. I hope you enjoy travelling in Thailand. As many Thais below have suggested, beaches are the best this time of the year. The weather in Bangkok is too hot. BTW, Tumi and Rimowa are luxurious brands. They are expensive worldwide. But they are high quality. I have used mine for at least 10 years each.
The people you see wearing school uniforms are not beggars or gangs. But he may be a student who plays music to support his family. Or maybe a student who plays music to earn money for continuing education at school.😺
In the first video, you were not ripped off for the juice. It’s just that the price in a luxury shopping mall is a lot higher than from a local market or street vendor.
Thank you for your clips. If you come across a street performance in Thailand, you can give a small amount of money as a token of appreciation for the show. Most of the performers are actually underprivileged school children or people with disabilities who may have difficulty finding other work. They usually showcase their musical talents or other unique skills that are not commonly seen, such as drawing. They are not begging, and begging gangs usually do not perform any shows. They just sit and ask for money, and sorry for my english.
I would like you to try traveling in the south of Thailand. There are tourist attractions that are natural. Delicious food with cheap price It's not as expensive as Bangkok and the people are friendly. Waiting for your new clip.❤
That's not a beggar, she's wearing a school uniform, she's using her abilities to pay for tuition and you misunderstood many things and sorry I can't explain because I'm not good at English.

Hi Jason..when you see students with uniform play music that means they earn money for their activities in the school..now is the hot season and the hotest month is April so if possible you should bring drinking water,Krab..
That octopus comes with seafood sauce which is considered one of the most spicy sauces. Next time ask the seller first whether it is spicy or not. In Thai, "Ped Mai". Ped means spicy. Ped Mak means very spicy. Mai Ped means not spicy. Enjoy your time in Bangkok.
The place you go to is a tourist attraction for Thai people is very expensive and the dessert you eat pancakes inside is Foi Thong which actually comes from the original Portuguese but the Thai people make it called "Kanom Bueng".
well, yes and no. Yes is that Chatuchak used to be a local market. No is not the reason of foreign visitors. But unscrupulous traders wanted to make quick bucks out of foreign visitors which make everything expensive@@vassanab4243
The best drink in Thailand for the scorching heat is watermelon smoothie! I cant believe that you didnt get to drink that and the seller didnt tell you that! It's like the most famous drink in Thailand and they're everywhere!!
Those musical/sporty kids aren't beggars. They're just trying to make some money on their non-school days. Usually, gangs would amputate your arm(s)/leg(s) or have you carry a baby to ensure a maximum sympathy and things like that. On another note, the 100-Baht pomergranite juice outside the Central World doesn't sound like a rip-off to just you but also everyone else. Think a coffee in Totterham vs that in Chelsea.

I'm a local who truly puzzled why there are so many foreigners coming here to Thailand, in this freaking hot weather, walking against the sun or even sunbathing 😢 like your raw reaction, btw.❤
I'm glad the market is doing well this year. Take care in that Thai heat, Jason. I almost fainted last June at Wat Arun temple in Bangkok. I then got Sun skin poisoning on the island of Koh Tao. I got what's called Hell's Itch for 2 days and wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Sore throat could be bad air quality or if you blast the AC in your room it will dry up your nose and throat. That happens to me a lot in Thailand. Thank you so much for sharing your Thailand trip with us!
As a Thai fan, I would like to give you an advice. When you wanna buy something, instead of saying "I'll get this.", it would be much better if you start with "How much?" And then you consider if that price is okay for you or not before making a final decision. If you think it's too expensive, you don't have to buy it yet. You can ask prices in many different shops to compare before you make a purchase. I listened to your story about that expensive backpack and saw how you buy things in the market in this video and I was like "Why didn't he ask the price first?" 😅 Anyways, from all the things you paid for in this video, they are normal price. You weren't ripped off. Those students were real students. They perform on weekends/or after school to earn extra income.
@@Jason-Travel You're better to pick something near to what you want and haggle over it and then after making it too expensive go to the real item you want and start a new haggle, this makes the seller more eager to make a sale and improved your chance of getting your item for at least half of the asking price.
Hi! May I suggest you carry a bottle of water to zip regularly every 15-30 minutes to cool down your body and to prevent heat stroke. In every summer some of the Thai ppl do this when they are going out.
Tiger is symbolized "strenght ,being powerful and the animal that believed that will protect you from the bad things. So that's why the tatto of tiger is very popular.
I like your vlog bro x You should go to the beaches cos there are so many beautiful beaches to visit in Thailand especially in the south of Thailand such as Krabi, Phuket, Samui and many more . Oh and I think you should use helmet when travelling by bike ,it’s quite dangerous on the road
That backpack will last you the rest of your life and longer! Ive had a ladies bag for the best part of 20 years and other than it being a bit mucky its still perfect! Buy yourself a reusable water bottle that keeps your water chilled and fill and carry every single day, you'll be grateful for it.

Mostly student performer especially in those crowded place mostly are student who perform for money to study or for those foundation from their school club's activity like to get money to cultivate or build a school in rural places so it's quite assure to donate(but yeah there's a few occasion that they just cheat on it by management but very few and not a part of gangs) those who is beggar for gangs are those child in normal clothes who go on sell those little things in an open small pub or bar or on the bridge across the road(which government trying to clean them up) like flowers or the like. like a rose for a 50THB something like that cuz it easier to get caught by stroll patrol or security in those tourist packed places. while in those small bar which is quite gray area business are mostly neglect (or paid to get neglect). there's story that those child beggars were kidnapped or traded across borders or few offer themselves to work this way to pay off their parents debt cuz young poor child gain more pity from passer by but actually these child get more than 3-5 times minimum income of adult from doing these things. and they won't wear a school uniform cuz it easier to tracked their profile(cuz on thai school uniform always there's school initial on the right and name on the left of their chest. if not you can mostly assume it as a fake). but it's just rumor not everyone know which one is true or false after all. or you can just think of it as a price for you pitying them and just leave it at that they would do it for gangs or what it's not your business anyway. you can't assume those performer or beggars in Newyork or Harlem are all authentic in need people anyway. right? so just treat it with the same logic so you could feel more ease this way.
12:59 They're not beggars though. They're street performers and still students. Much better than a begger because they do something entertaining for some money, not begging alone and doing nothing. You may have a chance to see blinded singers walking around and singing for money too, at least they give something to us. Besides, you may see some ramdom people with a basket (there's something like snacks, flowers, keychains, etc. in a basket) offering you to buy their stuff, or giving you their stuff for no reason (most of them is kids, young people), Don't take it, they will pressure and charge you later. They're so tricky. Good to see you tearing up from the spicy LOL I'm joking. 33:50 You picked the right one, the Ganesh is a god of success. 40:42 Those double tigers pattern is imitated from popular Thai traditional tattoo, which means invincibility, powerful, unconquerable and enhancing luck, fortune and charm, full package.
poor Jason, I should have much more empathy for you, but I think your way of travel is quite cute instant. I'm sorry 😂🙏, please make some Thai friends and let them guide you. I'd like you to have more good experiences in my country. hope you have some fun 😁. . . . about the situation of beggars, If you see people only sitting on the footbridge or on the side of the road pitiful and asking for money, They are beggars and may be part of the Ganges. But if they show their talents, play music, or sing in the market or tourist area, You can tip to your liking.
@@Jason-Travel The little elephant statue you bought is a Hindu god named Ganesha. He is known as the remover of obstacles and the giver of success, wealth, and happiness. I myself respect him as my protector. if you don't believe in other gods or religions, please at least don't put him in a very low place. you can put him on the shelf as a beautiful art piece :)
I’m a local people lives in Bangkok in my whole life. They are not a gang those girl in Thai school uniform they came to show their talent to earn money on weekends in order to support their family. They have home and family not a beggar they dress differently😊
if the drinks / food / t-shirt / products are worth the money you paid (to you personally) then you didn't get ripped off. Most of the really low prices here are when you buy more than 1. Like, 10 and up. then you get your t-shirt for 80 baht
You're such a funny dude, man you made me laugh!! Just your facial expressions when you ate those spicy octopusses (what's the plural of that anyway, octopusi? octopussies?? oh man, whatever). Yeah funny ass dude, you crack me up. I just watched the other video where you went to the night market and ate bugs (MASSIVE effort there by the way, and especially how you kept going back to the ones that tasted like dust, I mean what the hell?!!) and then came across the weed gummy bears that kicked in while you were eating the lava eggs, man you had me in stitches! Somehow I came away from that one desperately pining for a..... yep you guessed it, a PINA COLADA!!! Keep it up and keep it real!
The girl did perform for your entertainment and, of course, she was not a beggar. You can notice the difference as beggars will only do nothing apart from requesting your money. Enjoy your trip and wish you have good days in Thailand whenever you're here, Thai people are absolutely nice and friendly so far.
If you want a lower price You should to tell the price you want after the seller has given you the price. For example, if they tell you the price is 250. Can it be reduced to 200? If not, 240 or 230. I use this method regularly.😁😁

I'm a local who truly puzzled why there are so many foreigners coming here to Thailand, in this freaking hot weather, walking against the sun or even sunbathing 😢
like your raw reaction, btw.❤
thanks
I'm glad the market is doing well this year. Take care in that Thai heat, Jason. I almost fainted last June at Wat Arun temple in Bangkok. I then got Sun skin poisoning on the island of Koh Tao. I got what's called Hell's Itch for 2 days and wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Sore throat could be bad air quality or if you blast the AC in your room it will dry up your nose and throat. That happens to me a lot in Thailand. Thank you so much for sharing your Thailand trip with us!
thanks buddy ah yeah the AC in the room, could be that also

I want you to travel to the Chao Phraya River.
อยากให้คุณลองมาเที่ยวที่ หัวหิน มีตลาด ซิเคด้า และ แทมมารีนไนท์มาเก็ต ❤
On their site it is said that this is the world's largest weekend market with over 10k stalls.
I listened to your story about that expensive backpack and saw how you buy things in the market in this video and I was like "Why didn't he ask the price first?" 😅
Anyways, from all the things you paid for in this video, they are normal price. You weren't ripped off.
Those students were real students. They perform on weekends/or after school to earn extra income.
thanks for the tips 🙏
@@Jason-Travel You're welcome. I look forward to seeing your next adventure.
So that's why the tatto of tiger is very popular.
thanks for the info 🙏
I like your vlog bro x
You should go to the beaches cos there are so many beautiful beaches to visit in Thailand especially in the south of Thailand such as Krabi, Phuket, Samui and many more . Oh and I think you should use helmet when travelling by bike ,it’s quite dangerous on the road
thanks for the tips bro
I love your clip Just subscribe
thanks buddy
That backpack will last you the rest of your life and longer! Ive had a ladies bag for the best part of 20 years and other than it being a bit mucky its still perfect! Buy yourself a reusable water bottle that keeps your water chilled and fill and carry every single day, you'll be grateful for it.
walk in the evening, it's not hot.😊😊
yeah probably good idea
Hey Jason, what do you use for filming?
Thank you for showing Chatuchak market. The last time there was 35 years ago. That was the good old time with my lovely kon Thai tee rahk 😘😘😘🤣🤣🤣
Clock tower is like the meeting point when you're lost and can't find your friend 55. We told our group that if you lost or if you want to separate - then call us to gather again at clock tower. (the difficult thing is we cannot find the way out to clock tower, but it is the easiest spot we can describe. 😂)
Mostly student performer especially in those crowded place mostly are student who perform for money to study or for those foundation from their school club's activity like to get money to cultivate or build a school in rural places so it's quite assure to donate(but yeah there's a few occasion that they just cheat on it by management but very few and not a part of gangs) those who is beggar for gangs are those child in normal clothes who go on sell those little things in an open small pub or bar or on the bridge across the road(which government trying to clean them up) like flowers or the like. like a rose for a 50THB something like that cuz it easier to get caught by stroll patrol or security in those tourist packed places. while in those small bar which is quite gray area business are mostly neglect (or paid to get neglect). there's story that those child beggars were kidnapped or traded across borders or few offer themselves to work this way to pay off their parents debt cuz young poor child gain more pity from passer by but actually these child get more than 3-5 times minimum income of adult from doing these things. and they won't wear a school uniform cuz it easier to tracked their profile(cuz on thai school uniform always there's school initial on the right and name on the left of their chest. if not you can mostly assume it as a fake). but it's just rumor not everyone know which one is true or false after all. or you can just think of it as a price for you pitying them and just leave it at that they would do it for gangs or what it's not your business anyway. you can't assume those performer or beggars in Newyork or Harlem are all authentic in need people anyway. right? so just treat it with the same logic so you could feel more ease this way.
thanks for the info 🙏
Thank you so much 💘🥰 i follow you from Thailand
thanks 🙏🙏

My first time there about 12 years ago was hard work finding my way around, And now its a lot easier
I was cracking up watching you eating a very Spicy food food look good
🤣🤣😵
Hi Jason, shops like these they wont rip you off :)
My condo is walking distance from JJ market, yet I rarely go there😅 due to the crowed 😅😅 but I love JJ market, too! ❤
poor Jason, I should have much more empathy for you, but I think your way of travel is quite cute instant. I'm sorry 😂🙏, please make some Thai friends and let them guide you. I'd like you to have more good experiences in my country. hope you have some fun 😁.

about the situation of beggars, If you see people only sitting on the footbridge or on the side of the road pitiful and asking for money, They are beggars and may be part of the Ganges. But if they show their talents, play music, or sing in the market or tourist area, You can tip to your liking.
haha 🙏🙏 thanks for the tips
@@Jason-Travel The little elephant statue you bought is a Hindu god named Ganesha. He is known as the remover of obstacles and the giver of success, wealth, and happiness. I myself respect him as my protector. if you don't believe in other gods or religions, please at least don't put him in a very low place. you can put him on the shelf as a beautiful art piece :)
I love to watch you while I working.
Love the pool in your place always no one there

im glad you like my country!
that is the things about spicy food, you felt it is too spicy but you cannot stop eating it. BTW Im gald that you enjoy the market and the food.
I’m a local people lives in Bangkok in my whole life. They are not a gang those girl in Thai school uniform they came to show their talent to earn money on weekends in order to support their family. They have home and family not a beggar they dress differently😊
Brilliant choice
thanks
if the drinks / food / t-shirt / products are worth the money you paid (to you personally) then you didn't get ripped off. Most of the really low prices here are when you buy more than 1. Like, 10 and up. then you get your t-shirt for 80 baht
There will be a map of the shops at the center of the flea market and you will see the number of each building on each of them like 1 2 3....
Keep it up and keep it real!
haha thanks brother, I believe the plural is 'octopuses' or 'octopi' but octopusi sounds way better haha
The girl did perform for your entertainment and, of course, she was not a beggar. You can notice the difference as beggars will only do nothing apart from requesting your money. Enjoy your trip and wish you have good days in Thailand whenever you're here, Thai people are absolutely nice and friendly so far.
Jason you can find Everything you want🎉
Octopus looked amazing
31:22 Hello, behind you 😂
You have to negotiate some items, such as clothing, travel expenses.
I love this content 😊😊
thanks buddy!
Are you in Thailand until the Songkran festival?
If you want a lower price You should to tell the price you want after the seller has given you the price. For example, if they tell you the price is 250.
Can it be reduced to 200? If not, 240 or 230. I use this method regularly.😁😁
thanks for the tips 👍
A girls or school kids who play flute, violin or even various talent around the market as you seen it.They are student performed for scholarship.
