i bought one for my Birthday from amazon and its the best gift ever it dose a great job on chicken, pork and burgers i love my Optigrill the drip tray is good too worth the money.
I really like the technology that went into the design of this truly incredible electric grill. I have prepared chicken, burgers, salmon, and steak thus far. Each of the meats/fish listed here came out perfect with the exception of my beef tenderloin filet that I prepared last night. I brushed a light coating of peanut oil on both sides of my steak, and seasoned it with some kosher salt and fresh ground pepper. Once the grill was heated and ready to go, I cooked the filet until it beeped "rare- color yellow". I immediately transferred the filet over to a plate and let it rest for approximately 5-8 minutes. When I cut into it, unfortunately it was clearly cooked way beyond rare to "medium", not rare at all, not even medium rare. The next time I will carefully monitor the color indicator before it reaches the "yellow-rare" indication and check the internal temperature for my preferred doneness. All in all, I am still very satisfied with my new T-Fal Optigrill plus and would highly recommend it.
I do my steaks like this.... I season them really good, then I put them in Olive Oil for like an hour or so Then I put it in the Opti- Grill. Taking about delicious!! Soooo Goood!!
If the meat is frozen and you set to defrost, do you put the meat on the grill right away or wait until it heats up? I tried grilling fish and, according to the instructions, I waited until it beeped. The fish came out warm and under cooked. Any answers?
🤣 I bought one and I'm slightly colorblind, oops! I have other people double check the color progress for me. I love this grill. It is so easy and makes great food.
Need a Video explaining cooking in series several items as the first one shows red & you put a second cooking it is already showing red so need to see how to properly start a 2nd & 3rd cooking going through the rare, med. rare & well done stages (following book does not work for me) & it is strange haven't found a video showing this.
Just wipe clean with a wet cloth? What about the drippings below the grill ribs and the drip tray ? Also, except for filet mignon, this thing don"t work for steaks.I cooked New York strips and Ribeyes med/rare, and well, and they were chewy ,dry ,and grisly ! In my opinion, it"s good JUST for chicken breasts or fish !
I love how Tefal has so little respect for Americans intelligence, they literally had to rebrand their own name phonetically, so they could pronounce it correctly :D
That’s not why they did it. “In some countries like the United States, Tefal is also marketed as T-Fal. DuPont insisted on the name change since Tefal was too similar to their product name of Teflon.”
I think you would probably use the poultry setting because I think that counts as poultry, I would imagine turkey breast would be covered by that setting as well.
@@stashar.4535 true, but chicken and Turkey have to be well done whereas a duck breast can be cooked to medium rare and be safe to eat, so that does add another factor
Well I bought this because my George Foreman after 10 years of being tried and true retired itself and I normally cook it in a cast iron skillet and then finish it in my oven and the oven gave out too, so I bought this because it's supposed to take the guess work out. so far I've only made steak and Chicken with it. It dries out the chicken and instead of getting medium I got well done AND it was DRY. It also dried out my marinated chicken as well. I can't seem to get the manual to work though (I might be doing it wrong). it doesn't just wipe away, but I like that you can put the plates in the dishwasher. If I had the box I would have returned it cause it was supposed to come out perfect and it didn't. Sorry.
it's no point to give more money for a electric grill with Teflon. After all will not resist long time, it will scratch. the best solution for long time is stone grill
Too many reports of unreliability. This is the best-looking model, but my skepticism about the electronics was justified. Mother board can't take the heat. It is not convenient when you end up troubleshooting and being on hold on the support line, sending back, etc. A one-year warranty is too short.
It's a lot different than the foreman grill. It's the only grill that cooks meat to the perfect precise temperature and the colored light and beep tells you. It's goof proof it's also got the good housekeeping endorsement. I love mine.
Sean Fay LIES! I wanted medium I got well done. At least with my George Foreman I set my timer and got what I wanted. I would have gotten a new GF, but I saw this one and figured "What the heck." This isn't a bad product, but it's not as accurate as it states. I just have to take it out early and then let it rest to the temp that I want it.
Cantetinza17 for what it's worth, my experience is mine alone and yours may be different. What is different than the Foreman Grill is that it measures the thickness of the meat, and then using pre-programmed cooking temperatures cooks it through various phases. You need to understand though that the colors indicate a range - for instance when it turns yellow it should indicate 'rare' when it starts to turn to orange it is going towards 'medium' and then when it turns towards red it's 'well done'. if you take it off anywhere in between the yellow, orange red, you could have it more rare or more cooked. All I know is that I cook steaks for my kids and I've never had a unhappy customer! Good luck!
Sean Fay if it did all of that then my steak should have been perfect. And it wasn't not by a long shot and it was dry. So yes my experience is in fact different from yours. With my George Foreman I pretty much had my steaks perfect after all I had it for 10 years so I had it down to a science and nothing came out dry. I know about the indication lights. I followed it exactly the way the instructions said, but it didn't turn out right, so I'm going to adjust it the way I know how and see what happens. I do know that you can rest the meat to the ideal temp, so I'll stick with that. Since I threw out the box I can't return it, so I'm going to make it work. Glad it works for you.
Kyle Hewitt it cooks way better than a foreman. It tells you when it's rare medium etc, plus is so much easier to clean, also it cooks paninis amazing unlike the foreman.
You don"t need more than one strip of bacon cut in half on a burger, NOT four pieces , chef ! Just Keep the burger, a BURGER O.K. ? Or make a BLT sandwich instead !!
Buy a Lodge Logic Cast IRON grill you can tailgate with ( size of a Hibachi and HEAVY).. 100 bucks, will last for 100 yrs and it is CHARCOAL!! Geesh. Why can't people GRILL any longer? Americans NEED a indoor grill to tell them when the steak is the right temp? Get a MEAT Thermometer.. This stuff will break and is NOT timeless
Did it ever occur to you that people who are in chemo and radiation can hardly walk across the room, let alone use a cast iron grill? And we really don't tailgate. We just want good food with a minimum of trouble. Betcha can't put a cast iron grill in the dishwasher. Think twice before you make STUPID INSULTING comments. Someday you might have cancer and wish you had one of these.
mixedupjo Not only that, but many people, including myself, live in a high-rise apartment building where it is not possible to use a charcoal or gas grill, so a countertop electric grill like the T-fal OptiGrill would be perfect for someone like me.

Wow, now that's pull apart meat and salmon on the outside! Yum! 😊
I bought one a week ago. It's really amazing. Cooks steaks, burgers, brats, sausages, everything perfect.
I have one and... WE LOVE IT!!!!! We now eat MUCH healthier due to our busy schedule and the ease of use. It lives up to the hype!!!
Does your "busy schedule" effect the logic of your comment? Wait....
steven myers it won’t last

Anyone notice how when they take off the salmon the M is lit instead of the fish?
I'm sure it doesn't taste amazing or something. But it is for sure a time saver. And easy for maybe rainy days or just not feelin so good
Tyler, imagine having your food cooked to the perfect temperature everytime. That's the benefit of the optigrill. Time saving is a side benefit.
Sorry but I have this grill. And it just isn't that great. My food comes out and tastes 100 percent better on a grill
If the meat is frozen and you set to defrost, do you put the meat on the grill right away or wait until it heats up? I tried grilling fish and, according to the instructions, I waited until it beeped. The fish came out warm and under cooked. Any answers?
how much

How does it do with bone in meat and chicken?
Can you cook chicken with bones
No mention of if you hear the grill first.
I’ve watched a few other demo’s of it, and basically once it gets to the desired color and such it’ll chirp

Need to buy this!
Great product I've Roventa XL and work nice, very satisfied.

i thought Tina Fey forgot her glasses here
Also with burgers and cheese on top at 20 seconds would obliterate the slice. Like mine did, but then I didn't use bacon.

Chicken is supposed to be cooked all the way through. You can't cook it like you would a steak.

Why would it scratch?
@11:26 Hey its CM Punk lol so that's what he's doing for money since he's out injured training for the UFC 😂
Jonathan Parker it will stop working soon

I'm going to set this and forget this. Ham Dinged. Rapscallion.
The following is a paid presentation for the T Fal optigrill
so it's a george foreman grill with a coloured light?

James Gegner Yeah when I lived in an apartment we couldn't have any sort of grills. That sucked, but I got a George Foreman and that was great.
James Gegner I live in a house and have a $800 Weber grill. I still cook everything in my optigrill. Lol.
You’re a verified moron.
Frozen Chicken breast came out like an old boot, and as tough as. Where's the tenderness and juicy gone?
N
Hes using his hands dumb, will get burned easily like that.
Here is a playlist with some good reviews of the Optigrill! th-cam.com/play/PLgm6kleWOJJeUhtXBZ9uPqboLSBQMP8Zd.html
thanks...i was looking for something like that.
