Hi Megan and Travis! My wife and I are also new to rockhounding and live in the Boise - Meridian area. Interestingly, we were at Graveyard Point on Saturday but did not really find anything too interesting. Interested in maybe learning about this new hobby with my wife and me? We've just bought our first UTV and are really hoping rockhounding will be the motivation to get us off of the couch on the weekends!
Hey Christopher! Thank you so much for extending this invitation! I'm sorry you didn't find anything too interesting - we definitely had a few trips when we first got started out there where we didn't find anything and felt clueless as to how to spot things or what it was that we were finding. I'm sure we passed over exactly what we were looking for a number of times! But you've got to just keep trying! It's definitely a fun way to get outside and explore - especially with your UTV that's so cool!! Travis and I actually don't live in the area - we were just down there for work a few different times. I'm sure we will be back down again in the future and we'll have to let you know because it would be lots of fun to have some rockhounding friends! When we do get sent places its usually for 3-4 weeks at a time so there should be plenty of time to work something out! Thank you so much for inviting us! I'd love to see what you guys manage to find as well - there are so many cool rocks out in your area!
