George best was a united legend who passed, he used to love to drink, im britain “go on the piss” means go out to get drunk, so they were singing about going on the piss with georgie best when they die
The joke about the Teeth and Eyes and Nose being offside is that there are fine margins between being onside and offside. Inches only so someone with a distinctive figure will make the difference because his nose will just make him offside. They were saying WE lose every week and YOU'RE nothing special:) Some chants are spontaneous like THe Seagulls one and others are sung regularly. The Eat Dogs chant was for theor OWN player as he has just scored a late winning goal. Steve Gerrard cost his team Liverpool their first Premier League title in 30 years by slipping over and allowing a striker called "Demba Ba" to score.
9:00 Ji Seung Park was a Korean player. He actually liked that chant about him. Him & two of his teammates, Partice Evra & Carlos Tevez, were referred to as "The good, the bad, the Ugly" because the trio were such good friends & were together a lot
People pick up the chants by going to games. Often fans would also sing chants in pubs before the game - not sure if that’s a thing anymore as I moved to the US years ago. I’d go back in a heartbeat if I could.
In football there's a sub culture called hooligans where groups of people would fight every weekend for their team against other teams which has calmed down a lot from the old days because the police film everything and follow you on street cams and then they ban you from the grounds so you can't go to watch your team play anymore but they still like to meet at places and have a fight but cut to your question the hooligan groups are called firms and the firm will make the songs up and as they're at every game the fans pick it up so when the firm starts singing the rest of the fans will join in so only about 20 people in the stadium came up with them
Chants have been part of English football for more than 100 years, it's deeply entrenched in the culture. It's easier to make chants these days and spread them because of the Internet, but otherwise they get started at home, in bars, at the match, good ones stick and catch on. A lot of tunes stay the same but lyrics change or adapt to different teams
Being offside is a violation & goals scored from being offside are chalked off. The margin breaks down to mm from onside to offside so the taunt is having a protruding body feature rules out any goal or by just being present, they're in violation of the rules
There is derby's; pronounced dar-bees, it's mainly when two teams from the same city are playing each other when the "city is yours" chant comes into play. But can be counties also when derby's are involved.
The Elephant Man is about Joseph Merrick a man who had syndrome that causes abnormal large growths on the body causing disfigurement, there was a well known film titled "The Elephant Man"about him released in 1980 ❤❤
When a rival team's big rabbit teeth-goalie came to our stadium, we threw carrots at him in 1990. The irony that Luis Suarez bit his first guy there, infront of the same goal, in 2010. The Dutch League banned him 7 games, On which Ajax sold him to Liverpool fast. That guy should stay clear of this region haha Although we brought this karma on ourselves. PSV Eindhoven 1913.
6:05 Go on the piss means something like being drunk. It's Manchester United fans singing about Belfast Boy, legendary Man United player back in the days, and he was also known as a heavy drinker if my memory not failing me.
In schools in the UK they used to make us sing hymns and old songs every day in our morning assemblies and then you would entertain yourself by changing the words to make them dirty or insulting so British people all grow up with this innate ability to make a chant out of anything (a lot of football chants are set to the tune of hymns or old songs that we all grew up singing).
We lose every week is, at least I think, pulled when a better team lose a match they should have won. To quell the others fans pride they're called out that they're nothing special. Even when losing English fans are good on taking the piss of the other team/fans.
I skipped this video dozen’s of times because the stupid thumbnail they use with the outline that makes it look like you already watched it. ☠️ I don’t understand why they use it. ☠️🤦♀️🤷♀️🤣

Go on the piss means go out for a drink.
Offside is when the attacking team is behind the defending team on the pitch. (Against the rules)

The problem with football chants is that they go out of date quickly....but there is always someone who starts something new
Should react to the best football chants, great reaction by the way

Good reaction ! But, sadly, you will never have that in the U.S. . You just don´t have it in you, your culture. Although would love to see it happen.
