So the Raptor is a finely tuned high end performance four wheel drive utility. Really the first in its class in Australia. It has a towing capacity of 2500 kilogram, a full ton less than the Wildtrak 3 ltr and, due mainly to its rear coil sprung suspension, a tub payload limit of 708 kilogram - 210 kilograms less than the Wildtrak. Whats that full steel canopy weigh empty? 420kg? 500? How much is it going to weigh with water in the tank, fuel on the back, ladder, probably a roof rack (why else put a ladder on it) and all your gear? Now add your winch, underbody protection, two people, cooking gear, camping gear, fuel, the upper half of whatever mammoth wheels and tires you throw on ect ect. Now here's the thing: You could fit aftermarket leaf sprung suspension kit and get it passed by an engineer and increase that back up to the Wildtrak's 918 kilo tub payload but you would completely be changing the dynamics of the vehicle and ruining the very purpose it was created - back to precisely what the Wildtrack (and premium and XTL) are designed for. To my mind you're spending 90+k on the entirely wrong vehicle and should have spent ten k less on the right vehicle for this build - The Wildtrak. You guys are mechanics and I'm a plumber so sure you have some clever answers BUT they're going to have to be good to get me onboard and think this is anything less than retarded. Lol.
So -The tray and canopy are Alloy - We didn’t weigh before and after but I’d say it would be around 250-300 kilos different - Mikes shock shop do a GVM upgrade on the Ranger Raptor and this customer has arranged for that to be done - The canopy is removable, even with all the electrics wired in. So it doesn’t have to be fully loaded all the time, can be a work ute or can be a tourer with a canopy - How does it affect you that this customer decided to get a Raptor and not a wild track? - I don’t think we need to get you onboard. This customer bought the tray and canopy setup from Gworks, we fitted it. It looks sick, quality is second to none and the customer is happy. I’m onboard with that
